Hi everyone!
After reading everyone else's pre-trippies and getting very excited about everyone else's plans I decided to take the plunge and jump in here with my own trip planning and let you all see just how insane I will become over the next 2 months, 2 weeks and 1 day!
I know that is how long until we go because I am obsessed by my ticker. It is the first thing I check when I get up in the morning. Yep, even before I start pouring coffee down my throat! I think I have a problem....is there a 12 step program for those of us addicted to our tickers? :lmao:
Chapter 1 - The Cast
Anyways, I'll start with our cast of characters.
Me! I'm Sarah and I am NOT going to post my age! Its crept up higher on me and I am not a big fan of getting older. Maybe that's part of the reason I love all things Disney so much. I was a stay at home mom for almost 11 years but recently "re-joined the workforce" - got to love the politically correct code for "we needed the money"! Actually, not completely true but with 2 kids in private school who also dance and figure skate I figured I should do something to help contribute to the family income. I also love to travel so I am working feeding the vacation-fund! I am also a crafter, sewer, quilter and wannabe photographer.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b55/kindacrazytwo/IMG_6631.jpg
DH aka Handsome Genius (stealing his alias from Chloe) or "HG" for short. I won't post his age either or he'll get really mad at me! No sense in angering he who pays for Disney! He's a computer geek who shares my love for Disney yet he only humors me when I try to share the importance of my obsessive planning! He loves to eat and the thrifty side of him was thrilled and a bit relieved when I announced "we got free dining". He loves all sorts of gadgets and trinkets and hates anything Mac. Did I mention I am an iMac girl? Love that it annoys him!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b55/kindacrazytwo/IMG_3160.jpg
DD#1 aka Belle is 10 1/2 (can't forget the 1/2). We have trained her well from a very young age the importance of loving Disney if she indeed wants to stay part of the family! I'm kidding folks! Well, sort of! LOL! She is a dancer and has already danced professionally. Her dance classes suck up most of our money. But she loves it so we just sign the cheques and try not to think about it. Belle always has her head in the clouds and is very naive (how do you spell that?). She thinks she is very grown-up but is actually completely the opposite but I'm not going to be the one to tell her that!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b55/kindacrazytwo/IMG_3501.jpg
DD#2 aka Tink is 7 1/2 (yes, there is the 1/2) again. She is the youngest Disney freak in the family and there was no training required with this one. She is a total daredevil when it comes to the rides - the bigger the better. She also dances but isn't into it quite as much as her sister but still loves it. She figure skates as well and is seriously in love with her coach. Tink is wise beyond years and has been since the moment she was born. In fact our midwife looked at her when she was born and said "Oh, she's a 40 year old Jewish woman" and she has fit the role perfectly ever since. She is super smart and is always thinking 2 steps ahead of me - I hate it when she out-thinks me!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b55/kindacrazytwo/IMG_3227.jpg
I'll leave you all with that for now as I have to get Belle off to a birthday party!
See you all soon!

Okay - caving to peer pressure here and I am adding an index to the first page. I didn't do it when I started this because I didn't think anyone would read it so no need for an index. Well, thankfully I have friends here and you all read and respond so I thought I'd add the index for anyone who is jumping in now so they can read and catch up!

Chapter 2 - Disney Trips of Long Long Ago
Next up....our Disney history!
Our little Disney problem started way back, long ago on our honeymoon....yes, its been that long! 13 years to be exact! Have I really been looking at him that long? Ya, and I love him!
We stayed at Dixie Landings now known as Port Orleans Riverside but it will always be Dixie Landings to us. Makes me sad to think the Port Orleans just opened up and swollowed poor Dixie. She never even saw it coming. :confused3
We stayed there for a week and that was it, we were sold! Totally in love with Disneyworld!
We made a repeat trip in February of 1996 and stayed at our beloved Dixie once again. Can't remember how long we were there that time. Probably about a week. No sense in us traveling that far for much less then that.
Next trip we had Belle with us and I was 6 months pregnant with Tink. We wanted to take Belle on one last trip as an only child. Why I'm not sure but it seemed important at the time!
Me being the sneaky person that I often think I am decided I was going to go on some of the rides that they warned pregnant people (okay, pregnant women - I mean really, how often do you see a pregnant man?) not to ride. Now before anyone goes all ape on me, I went on the Safari Ride and something else which currently escapes my brain. Nothing too thrilling. Anyways, back to the story - I really didn't think that anyone would be able to tell that I was pregnant. I thought I was still this skinny little thing and I was really getting away with something there. Until I got home and looked at the pictures - yep, I was huge as a house. Oh well. I guess they knew but decided not to fight with the preggo-lady!
Last trip was in February 2001 just after Tink turned a year old. We learned the beauty of the stroller pass that trip! Belle fell in love with Test Track and was terrified of the Winnie the Pooh ride. Go figure! Weird kid.
We have made many, many trips to Disneyland in California inbetween all these Florida trips and HG used to go to Los Angeles on business so the girls and I would tag along and visit Mickey while HG was working. As much as I love Disneyland it pales in comparison to WDW.
Our last trip to Disneyland was Feb 2006 for Tink's 6th birthday. Belle spent the whole trip in the hotel room with HG sick as a dog. I guess its only fair though - when we went down for Belle's 6th birthday Tink threw up the whole time!
We haven't tempted the Disney fate since.
Here's hoping no one gets sick this time. I'm bringing my Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer and I may use both to bathe the kids!

Hi! I just found your pre-trip report. Great start! :thumbsup2 Your daughters are beautiful!! I, too, understand the ticker madness!! I get very irritated that it tells me the same number of months, weeks and days at 5:00 PM just like it did at 8:00 AM. I hate that I have to wait another full day for it to take another day off!! :lmao:
I'm looking forward to reading more!

Hmmm......I'm sure there must be something wrong with my ticker. It's only moved one day since yesterday. Wish I could shake it or wind it or throw it or just something to make it move a bit faster.

First of all, I love the pre-trip report so far. We sound a lot alike. My daughter also did the dance thing for years, until I became pregnant with crazy "morning" sickness and anemia that stopped me from becoming a normal member of society for a good portion of the dance season. I do miss the performances and adorable costumes. I don't miss all of the expenses though!
I have had a strange fascination with other people's tickers. Boy, that phrase sounds awful doesn't it? :) I love to see what designs people have chosen. My question is, after we get back from our vacations what do we do? I guess my ticker will say "Only three more years until I get another vacation". That will just look sad.:sad2:

I wish we could shake them to make them go faster! Heck, I smack my monitor on a somewhat regular basis just to see if it will move!

Glad you found it Declansdad! I have soooo been drooling over your POP pictures - can't wait to see it in 2 months 1 week and 3 days! I know this because my ticker tells me so!

Oh I hear you on the hyper-emisis (sp?). I had it soooooo badly with my girls. The only reason I have 2 kids is that every doctor said it wouldn't happen as bad the second time. They lied!
Sad thing about those tickers - they don't plan another trip for you!
I don't know what happened to the 3 on my ticker. When the magical moving star passed the "3" it ate it! I thought it may come back but the 3 is still missing!

Hey, kindakrazy2, I thought I'd check out your pre-trip report! I look forward to reading more.
I had stumbled on a neat website when we were planning our trip and it had a desktop timer called Mousetrack. Here is a screen shot of what it looks like. The monorail even goes by every couple of minutes. You can move it anywhere on your desktop.

Chapter 3 - The Liberation of the LGMHPCs
Yes indeed. A very important part done. :goodvibes
And it feels so good!
The other day I went to Home Depot in search of the LGMHPC. I have heard they are a hot commodity and are often not in their proper paint chip holders. I was expecting this to be the first of many missions to obtain to elusive LGMHPCs yet when I walked into the paint department there they were!
A whole holder of them begging me to liberate them!
I have to admit I used Belle and Tink as cover as we looked at each colour of Mickey heads and discussed the merits of each. I ended up having to convince them both that no, they could not paint their rooms in either Rumbly Tumbly or Sunny Spot. So much for not causing a scene! They were supposed to be my cover - not draw more attention to us!
I had just about had enough and so took a few of the others - again for cover and then I reach for the prize - the LGMHPCs!
SCORE!!!!! :thumbsup2
Well, almost.....
To get out of HD you have to pass through the cash registers and of course on the day we go there is no line up - just lots of cashiers looking eager as we near. Well Tink thinks that we should stop and be social and show the nice ladies all the Mickey heads that are coming home with us!
NO!!!!!!!
Keep walking Tink!
I say in a nice yet firm voice "Tink they are paint chips, we don't have to pay for them" and ushered her out the door. :rolleyes1
Made off with 9 of them. Not quite the mother load some others have but I figured it was enough for now. If I need more I'll go on another mission but I think we have freed enough LGMHPC for now.
They must be so excited to be going "home". Kind of like the LGMHPC alien green mother ship is calling them home!

This is so funny! I was just on another thread and we were discussing the different "techniques" that can be used in HD. Do you pretend to be interested in the other colors like you're actually going to use them or do you just go in and take the green? I get all nervous and sweaty like I'm about to rob a bank. Then I head over to the rack and look at the blues and purples and contemplate which one I want to "buy". Funny how I always end up with green.:confused3
My daughter will comment on how I already have too many and why do I need more? That's when I send her over to the candy rack for a special treat. :rolleyes1

We poured over all the colours and actually took a few of the other colours too to decorate with! Grabbed a whole stack of green ones though! :rolleyes1
I still have guilt.....even though I know I am allowed to take them! :scared:

Chapter 4 - A pre-trip trip!
Just got back from a few days in Dallas Texas. I went down to meet up with a friend and spend some time shopping in anticipation of the "big trip"!
A pre-trip trip if you will.
I bought just about every Disney-themed thing I came along. A Tink backpack for Tink, pencils, pens, notebooks, t-shirts, metal lunch tins to alter for Belle and Tink to store their Disney treasures in (remember, I'm crafty ;)). Auntie Tande got the girls jammies to take away with us too. Tink got a set of Lilo ones and Belle got Minnie ones.
I also discovered the joys of the Dollar Tree. Why oh why don't we have those here in Canada? :confused3
Here I stocked up on disposable rain ponchos! I bought what felt like a tonne of them only to get back to the hotel and do the official count and discover I only had 16 which is only 4 days worth!
I am trying not to panic and the fun folks on the Sept POPers Mojito thread have assured me that it won't rain every day in September and I am holding them to that. If it rains more then that I am going to steal their ponchos! :rotfl2:
Spent my time on the plane rides devouring the Unofficial Guide so I can call myself the expert in the family! On a side note, when did that book get so darn heavy? I am sure the last time I bought an edition of it, the thing was half the size it is now. Oh well, more info for me to obsess about! :woohoo:
Today was also the magical day where my ticker dropped under the 2 month mark! WOOHOO!!!
Here come the dancing bananas to celebrate!

Come back and let me know how you made out! I hope your wish trip is as magical as the one I was reading last night. I was bawling my eyes out at how wonderful the pixie dust was for their family.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Chapter 5 - A Surprize Booking
I just got off the phone with Disney Tours and I booked a surprize tour for HG! Shhhh....don't tell him!
I mentioned before that he is a computer geek and loves all types of high tech gadgets so I booked him the Around The World Segway Tour!
He is going to be so excited!
When the CM was reading off all the restrictions and the liability waivers I admit I was starting to wonder if this was a good idea but then I figured, heck, its Disney! How wrong could it go? Right?
We've had an injury at the parks before and we were amazed at the wonderful medical care Belle received so I figure even if he takes a header off the Segway, they'll take care of him! :rotfl:
So if you are taking the Around the World tour on Thursday Sept 20 at 9am make sure you point and laugh at HG for me! :cool1:

Chapter 6 - The Food
As I mentioned before the dining fairies were so kind to us and gave us free dining while we are there. I am so excited!
We have only ever eaten in 2 TS restaurants before on all our trips. One was Tony's on our last trip and the one before that was at Boatwright's at Dixie Landings. We didn't pay for that last one as they had trouble finding us a room at check in the night before. I mean, they were sending us to plenty of rooms and when we'd walk in there would already be another family in it or it was unmade! :scared1: The very kind bellman who was driving us around in the middle of the night in the little golf cart shuttle thing was absolutly horrified that it kept happened over and over. I think it took about 5 tries to get us a room. To make up for it they gave us dinner at the restaurant.
So anyways - after 4 trips and only 2 TS you can imagine my excitement at getting to eat at a TS every stinking day! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I came to the restaurant board to start looking at where to dine because in all honesty - I had no idea. After humming and hawing this is what I came up with:
Sept 15 - 6:05 - Askerhaus Princess Dinner
Sept 16 - 6:10 - Le Cellier
Sept 17 - 11:50 - Crystal Palace
- 7:10 - Tony's
Sept 18 - 6:25 - 'Ohanas
Sept 19 - 6:05 - Sci-Fi Drive In
Sept 20 - 6:00 - Coral Reef
Sept 21 - 6:00 - Garden Grill
Sept 22 - 6:10 - Crystal Palace
Now I know some of my choices aren't the real popular ones but there is a method to my madness.
First of all Tony's - I admit it makes me nervous but it was the only one that HG was really wanting to do. I think because he remembers being there with the kids last trip and how good the air conditioning felt and we did have a good experience there. Let's hope we do this time too!
We MUST go to Garden Grill because I have a little girl who is in love with Chip. Not Dale, just Chip! We had an amazing experience with Chip on her 6th birthday in Disneyland at Goofy's Kitchen. Its a long story but he basically spent almost an hour with her alone and even walked out of the restaurant and danced with her outside the hotel under the stars. It really was a magical experience. I know she is going to want to visit with her buddy and I have heard the character interaction is good at Garden Grill. I know it won't ever be the same as that one time but she still is hoping to get to reunite with Chip!
I know I am repeating Crystal Palace but buffets work well for us and who doesn't love Pooh! There also isn't much else to do in terms of TS in MK except LTT I think and the Americana theme doesn't do a whole lot for this Canadian family. :rolleyes1
So there you have it - our ADRs!
You have no idea how much I stressed over them! I hope most of them turn out to be good experiences!
Finger's crossed!

I think you should keep the Segway tour as a surprise - if you can. Your ADR's look good. Of course, I have never eaten a single TS meal at Disney. I hope everything turns out to be good for you. :thumbsup2 Great story about your daughter and Chip!! That must have been very sweet to watch.

kindakrazy2 3rd time was the Charm! the Home Depot 8 miles before it was out of every shade of green there was. Went on down the road and they had plenty of them all!!! So I took a handfull and DS5 had to have some other colors. I was feeling guilty... I made off with 13.... but after reading others posts I'm thinking maybe I shoulda taken 2 or 3 handfulls???:rotfl: J/K

I am trying to keep it a secret but I don't know how much longer I can hold on!!! :scared:
Glad to hear there is another non-TS person out there! I was starting to think I was the only one who didn't eat at one everyday!
I'll never forget Tink and Chip together. It was one of the most magical things I have ever seen. Pure Disney magic.

Just read through all your posts. Your daughters are so cute! And your home depot story is HILARIOUS! To catch up, here are all my comments:
I can't believe you have 4 ponchos for each person? I only plan on bringing 2 for each of us. Even last July (statistically the RAINIEST month at Disney) we only got rained on…(well, let me rephrase that)---POURED on-- 1 day out of 5 (at the MK of all places---couldn’t it have happened at AK where it doesn’t take a full day to explore?) Anywho I was really happy it rained only ONE day. Does that make you feel better?
I just might make it a point to go to Epcot on the 20th (our “whatever” day) at 9:00 so I can see your DH and point and laugh for you!
I’ve only gotten to eat at 2 TS (that I can remember) too! I’m feeling the same way about getting to eat TS every day!
Glad to be "pre-trippin" together! :woohoo:

Now you have me questioning my time choice. I went with the 9am because I thought the girls and I could do some of their favourite rides while he did the tour. Never thought of him going on his own and doing it so we could do the whole day together after he finished......
Sounds like we have similar days planned! :dance3:

Hi Sarah, I saw your link on the Pop mojito monkey thread and just checked it out. I can't wait to meet you at Pop you sound like a fun person to hang with. I know what you mean about your daughter thinking she is grown up but being very nieve. My 12 year old son is the same way. I worry about him being taken advantage of in the future.
I wanted to let you know we will be at Mk on the 17th too and doing CP at 8am and Tony's at 5:30. Too bad our times are off. We havent' done Tony's before so we are looking forward to it.
We did do free dining the last two years so we are not new to TS but what I did figure out is just because others like or don't like a TS does not mean you will or won't. We ate at a lot of places with bad reviews and we loved them. Actually we never found a restaurant we didn't like. Garden Grill was one of my son's favorite restaurants and he never did figure out how the scenes kept changing. Couldn't decide if the walls were moving or the floor. lol I think your girls will love it. They will love Ohana's too it is so much fun (ask for a window seat if it's available).
Can I join your addicted to the ticker club. It really is addictive.

ABout the LGMHPC, I grab the green of course but I also grab black red and white...I place them in the kids photo books when we get home and write on them...almost a trip report of sorts in their albums ;)
Hopefully for a change though I'll have my LIME GREEN chips and a Diser will notice me..Nobody did my last trip and I saw none either :(

I do worry about Belle. She is going to get her heart broken at every turn of the road. She is one of those kids who still just runs into the middle of the street because she just doesn't think. I worry about her all the time. She just doen't "get it" about anything. Smart as anything when it comes to school things but the life skills are lacking in a major way.

OMGoodness! :lmao: Your Tink is just like my Princess Ariel! Mind you, you walked out with 9....we walked out with 35 paint chips in red, black, yellow, and the LGMHPC! I too, used her and Stitch for cover. Just when we were near the exit she says in her loud voice "Hey Mom WAIT! You have to pay for those!" I was mortified! I look at her and say "Keep walking, they are just paint chips!"
What we do for our Disney Addiction!

Chapter 7 - Let the crafting begin!
I mentioned earlier that I am crafty and today was the perfect day to start the vacation crafts!
I made each of the girls a lunchbox to keep their Disney treasures in when we get back. They tend to collect streamers, confetti, etc and it ends up spread all over the house so this time I am ready. They can keep it in a bag while we are away and when we come home it goes into their memory tins!
Here is Tink's. It is none other then Tink herself!

Belle originally said she wanted a Minnie tin and then after I started she said she changed her mind and wanted it to be Nemo. Great. Oh well, one more coat of paint and Nemo it is!

Now you have me questioning my time choice. I went with the 9am because I thought the girls and I could do some of their favourite rides while he did the tour. Never thought of him going on his own and doing it so we could do the whole day together after he finished......
I'm sorry! I really wasn't trying to make you second-guess yourself. Do what is best for you and your family. We're planning on being in a park other than Epcot on the Segway tour day, so that is why he's going early. If you're planning on Epcot that day anyway, your plan is probably fine.
I made each of the girls a lunchbox to keep their Disney treasures in when we get back.
Wow--those boxes are beautiful! My girls would LOVE them!!!

Hi Sarah :wave2:
You must be my Canadian alter-ego.
Same name.
Same honeymoon resort that will forever remain Dixie Landings in our hearts.
Photography & crafting interests.
& we'll be at Disney the same time in September!!!
I have 2 boys instead of girls though.
Love the tins--what a great idea. I might have to copy that. My boys love to keep the streamer pieces, napkins, etc. too. (a bit like their mom).

Denise - I hadn't thought about the EMH at MK that day.....its the only AM EHM there while we are there. May have to rethink this one......if I change him to another day it may work a little better......Ahhhhhh....the pressure.....
I may end up telling him so he can help me sort through it all. :confused3

Hi Sarah! :welcome: to the thread! Glad to have you along for the ride!
I miss Dixie Landings. Still not sure why they allowed Port Orlenes to swallow poor Dixie up. Poor thing! :sad2: We were looking at the pin lanyards the other night and both the girls have "DIxie Landings" pins. While we were there in 2001 one of the CMs told us what was happening and apparently none of the CMs were pleased about it either.
Where are you staying when you come down in September?

I do worry about Belle. She is going to get her heart broken at every turn of the road. She is one of those kids who still just runs into the middle of the street because she just doesn't think. I worry about her all the time. She just doen't "get it" about anything. Smart as anything when it comes to school things but the life skills are lacking in a major way.
My son is exactly the same way. As for running in the street that should get better in a couple of years. My son is 12 and it just sank in about a year ago that you can't just run out in the street without thinking first. My son will also be heartbroken many times. I swear he has loved girls since he was born. Try telling a 4 year old why he is to young for a girlfriend when he innocently just doesn't get it because he doesn't even understand what a girlfriend is. He would stand up to the bullies to protect any girl but won't stand up to them to protect himself (go figure). My son is smart in school too but the common sense is just lacking. He just wants to make sure everyone is happy. I love him dearly but there will be lots of broken hearts in his future.

Sounds like we have the same version! I worry about her, just as I'm sure you do about your son. As much as we tell her things, if a stranger ever said "come with me" I'm sure she'd go. She just doesn't "think" most of the time. My precious little monkey. I love her so much.

Chapter 8 - We'll be glowing!
Every time we go to Disney (usually Land but this time World) the girls beg and pester us until we give in and buy them the glow necklaces in the evening. They try to "sell" it to us as a safety feature - "you'll be able to spot us in the crowd if we have them". Ya, you and every other child in the park!
Anyways, in an attempt to not spend a fortune every single night I decided to bring some with us. I have been looking around trying to find some inexpensive ones and I hit the jackpot today!
At Michael's they had packs of 15 bracelets with the connecters to make them into necklaces for $1.50!
Score!
And they are packed in cardboard tubes so they won't get accidently set off in the luggage on the way down. Nothing like disapointing the kids by handing them no-longer glowing glow sticks! :lmao:
Here they are!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b55/kindacrazytwo/IMG_7068.jpg
Now I wonder if I have enough. I bought 6 tubes so 90. That should be enough for 8 nights, right? :confused3

Gee whiz! That better be enough! Funny thing about those glowsticks, my MIL gave us a bunch of those a while back and we put them around our black haired chihuahua's neck to walk him at night. (perfect fit!) SO much easier to see him! It looked funny from afar, all you could see was a glowing light running around. LOL If they are the same ones (and I think they are) the ends connect so your girls can put them on their wrists.

Chapter 9 - My shopping list
Everyone know that the second best part of a trip is the planning, well I have decided that the next best part is the pre-trip shopping! I love shopping - more then I should probably.
Great.
Now I've admitted to all of you that I am not only addicted to my ticker but also to shopping! Well, not really but I do enjoy it. And I am still addicted to my ticker!
Have you seen how low it is getting! 1 month and 2 weeks!
Sorry, went off on a tanget there for a minute!
I have been slowly plugging away getting a few things here and there for the trip and wanted to start to make a list of things I need to get and things I have already got. A good friend of mine who I'll call Goofy is a big fan of "the list" and so I'll take her lead on this one!
This is what I have got so far for the trip:
-glow sticks (although I may go back and get more)
-Tink shirt for Tink
-Tink shirt for me
-rain ponchos (hopefully more then I need)
-over the door shoe holder to go over the bathroom door and hold our toiletries
-2 new tshirts for HG
-new running shoes for Tink
-Disney crocs for Belle (Tink already had some)
-a friend bought both the girls Disney jammies
Now for the list of things I still need to get:
-Lysol spray (for the remote control, phone, etc)
-antibacterial hand sanitizer stuff
-4 bottle of spray sunscreen (love that stuff)
-advil (both kids and adults)
-Tink shirt for Belle
There is so much more that I know I have to get but I can't think right now! My brain has gone to mush.....
Somebody help me!
What else do I need?

My suggestion would be to buy a travel size bottle of wrinkle release. It works on all my "park clothes" because I don't bring anything made with fancy materials. If your clothes get a little wrinkled in the suitcase, just hang 'em and spray 'em with a little of this stuff and they'll be right as rain.

A few things I have thought of:Tide in a travel size from Target .99,mini personal fan, sunglasses, moleskin or other blister bandaids(I prefer the ones that are bandaid brand),disposable Dawn sheets for those refillable cups, ziploc baggies in various sizes.Do you have a bag for the parks.
Hmmm....I think I will post my packing list on my report. For some reason I am in the mood now.:goodvibes :surfweb:

Come on up baby! :lmao:
You will also need to get some shoes for Cherbear. And pick up some ponchos while you're at it.'
Shoes for Cherbear - on my list! Ponchos too!

Or is it?
Okay, onto my list.....shoes and ponchos for Cherbear.

I have trial sized detergents no mini-fans though. Any idea where in Canada I can get some? People keep posting their great secret shopping places and they are all in the States! What's up with that? ;)
Sunglasses - check. Bandaids and blister pads - check, check.
Great idea on something to wash those cups with.
Baggies - on my list.
I do have a small messanger type bag. Its black, not lime green but I think if I add a LGMHPC it will be okay!

A big :welcome: to you Laurie! Glad you found me! I think I have about 50 MHPCs but only about 20 are Alien Green. I figured I'd use other colours for our countdown calender. I want to get some more though to decorate our POP window. We'll see if I can talk the girls into going back and liberating some more Mickey Heads!

I got our's right around the 40 day mark and was so excited until I realized they had me flying from the wrong airport and my mom was nowhere to be found. Oh no! Wrong airport and missing mom is awful! What did Disney say when you talked to them? You need to call - your trip is REALLY soon!
Basically what happened is they had me flying from both Chicago and PA. They have all of Mom's info right except they have my name printed on her ME tags instead of hers. I was supposed to receive two ME packets - one for me and one for Mom and Jen. I was told they were going to send out two more packets that have been updated. I haven't received them yet.
I asked if Mom could use the ME tags with my name on them. I was told she could. So, I sent them out on Monday. Mom and Jen now have their ME info and tags. I still have nothing. I was assured that I can still use ME and they will still pick up my bags for me even without ME tags on my luggage. Apparently, I will need to check in at the ME desk and tell them I have bags with no ME tags. I will then give them a description and give them my luggage claim slip. They will find the bag and put ME tags on them and take them for me to my resort.
I have never used this before, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!! ;)

Chapter 11 - Mickey we have a problem or two
I was sitting around yesterday and it suddenly dawned on my that I never received Tink's passport.
Her's had expired and so I ordered her new one in June and they told me it would be about 2 weeks until we had it. I just assume this means 3-4 weeks because its a government thing and when do they ever run on time? :confused3
Anyways, I just went about life and to be honest, I kind of forgot about it and suddenly yesterday the lights came on!
Tink doesn't have a passport!
So I called and waited on hold for awhile. Actually the wait wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but there is always some sort of wait calling the passport office.
It would seem that they decided to do a guarenteer check on her and since her guarenteer was her Headmaster and its summer vacation, they had a hard time getting in touch with him. They finally did and it is "in production" so we should have it in a week or so.
I hope so because I'd really hate to leave her behind!
I'm kidding!
I'd never leave her behind but I will feel better when it gets here!
The second problem that has cropped up is that I have to have surgery and the soonest date I can get is just 2 weeks before the trip! :scared:
He is going to try to get me in earlier and I hope he is able to or it may be a very uncomfortable vactation for me.
I must remember, drugs are my friend while in pain at Disney but still I don't want to have to do that.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Chapter 12 - Let the countdown begin!
I decided yesterday that it was time to start the official countdown to Disneyworld. I wanted and tried really hard to hold off until 30 days but I couldn't make it will start at 31! Close enough, right? ;)
Yesterday I made the calendar and today we start counting!
I kind of messed up on the size of my lettering though. "Disneyworld" didn't really fit once I tried to put it all together but I wasn't in the mood to start over so the D kind of hangs over the edge!
Here it is!
Drum roll please......

Sarah,
Love the calender!:thumbsup2 Yeah, I couldn't wait that long either. I started ours at 35 days. I love the way you did your colors so it follows the rainbow. RoyGBiv and all. I didn't do that either.:rolleyes1 I just willy-nilly put mine on the poster board. But hey, my kids love it:love: and have to make a big X on the number before bed each night. Last night we forgot and Paige got out of bed (she knows she will get in trouble for that- but did it anyway) to tell us we forgot. She said "how could you mommy and daddy?" Don't know, just lock me up, I'm a bad, bad mommy. Anyway we are so excited. Today is day 10 on our calender--single digits tomorrow WOO-HOO:cool1: !!! You can check it out on my Pre TR.
Sorry for hijacking and rambling. I'm just sooooooo excited. Anyway, Love your calender!!!:dance3:

Chapter 13 - Notice anything different?
I was so excited to check my ticker today and found that it had changed! It had gone from the 6 month out one that I started with to a 30 day countdown one!!! :woohoo:
Woohoo!!!!!
Here comes the banana to celebrate!
Actually I am saying we have 29 days left not 30 because we leave for the airport the day before we fly out so technically if I am not making the beds or cooking the meals then I'm on holidays, right?
We leave Vancouver on the 13th and head south to Seattle and then fly out first thing in the morning. Still don't get into Orlando until 9pm or something so our first day at the parks won't be until the 15th. Sad but true - it will take us 2 days to actually arrive at the park.
That is my update for today!

I wish we could do the Segway tour. No Disney magic of that kind on this trip, I need at least one more good snowboarding season before we even think about it :) I'll go get some glow sticks for the big kid though...

Glow sticks for the big kids are certainly allowed too! And never say never to the Disney magic - you never know! ;) :lmao:

Its funny you say that, I thought the same thing when I first saw it. Something about the way her head is angled or something. She really doesn't look anything like her in real life!

Thanks Nicole! We are in Vancouver, Canada! So beautiful here.

Chapter 14 - Good news!
Tink can come with us!
The passport office came through for us and her passport arrived this morning.
Scared the living daylights out of me when the doorbell rang early this morning and I had to answer the door in my jammies but oh well!
We're going to Disneyworld! !
All of us!!

:rolleyes1
I've just started reading this pre-trippie and had to comment! I felt totally strange taking the LGMHs! We ended up taking a few of other colors just so we wouldn't look weird. And then I sent DH in to grab a few more! Its so funny that they are free, but it feels wrong just taking them! (Not that it stopped me! LMAO)

I think the ADRs look great! We did the Princess Breakfast at Akershus and the girls (DD4, DN4, DN6) loved it!! We also really like Crystal Palace so I don't see anything wrong with going there twice.

So happy to hear you had a good experience at Akershus! I keep hearing that CRT is so much better but HG and I didn't enjoy it when we were there. Granted it was 11.5 years ago but I think it left a bad taste in our mouth. Plus Akershus is only 1 TS credit! Can't beat that for princesses!

LOVE the Calendar!! I am totally going to make one when it gets close to our trip...which is a long time out now but I'm locking this idea away in my mind for future reference!

Thanks for the nice comment on it! I was pretty happy with the way it turned out except for the fact that Disneyworld didn't fit on when all was said and done! Oh well! Wasn't going to start over at that point!

Thanks! I think they are pretty cute but I may be a little biased! ;)
Someone else (I can't remember who) told me about stock piling the glow stuff because it is so stinking expensive to buy there! I thought it was a brilliant idea!
27 days to go! Your trip will come up faster then you think it will. Time seems to fly when the kids are little like yours are! Just keep thinking Disney thoughts! :cloud9:
