I don't know why I am stressing out so much about this upcoming trip, but maybe it's because it will be DS12's first trip to where the magic began.

Anyway, we have finally decided to get the DAP for each of us and get the parking added on one pass.

Do you pay for parking when you enter the garage or when you exit?

Is there a way to park in the Downtown Disney lot for a few minutes for free?

I am trying to figure out the logistics of parking and picking up our Annual Passes.

Thanks,

Suzi

Go ahead and go to the regular parking area and pay for parking, then TAKE YOUR PARKING TICKET WITH YOU. If you're buying your pass (and the parking option) at the ticket booth, then show it to the ticket agent, and they will credit the amount you paid for parking that day towards your purchase. If you have pre-purchased the passes (so you are bypassing the ticket booth), then when you go to the Annual Passholder Processing center to activate them, give them the parking ticket and they'll deal with the refund at that time.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! That is EXACTLY the kind of information I was looking for.

When I got mine I drove into the lot and told the CM I was going to buy an AP with free parking, he just gave me a AP ticket, so I didn't have to hassle with a refund.

Thank you for letting me know that I have another option.

I bought AP's a couple weeks before Christmas, but didn't want to activate them. I parked in the DTD lot (2-3 hours free), bought the passes and enjoyed a little DTD. I didn't want to hassle with the tram and the DTD lot is within walking distance of the ticket booths. I needed to purchase at the booths because they were running a holiday promotion.
