My husband and 4 year old daughter want to go camping, so I compromised with the idea of Ft. Wilderness. We probably will go in January, we still need to buy a tent and such. I was hoping that someone can give me a "heads up" about the campsite and what to expect - We plan on a tent and an air mattress - but I have no idea what to expect for a campsite. Any advise will be helpful! (Like electricity??)

Thanks::goodvibes

FW will spoil you...electric, water, coquina tent pads that are very level, and most if not all sites are well shaded. Here's a very good site that can give you more details:

FW will spoil you and it will be a nice break in of camping. The sites are great with water, and electricity. Also, the comfort stations, 24 hour pool, and the spray for bugs which is really nice. The camp fire with chip and dale is fun for all ages. Enjoy and book early.

Not at all. Before DS started to school, that was one of our favorite times to go to avoid the crowds. Our absolute favorite times were the first week or so in December for the Christmas decor and MVMCP.

We usually go Thanksgiving Day thru Monday but my husband is back in restaurant business so that will not happen for awhile. Was disssapointed that MVMC dates changed last year. I was reading about campsite location and it seems like loops 400 500 600 and 700 seem to be a good bet for location. Do you have any preference?

For tent camping, you won't need a full hookup site with cable. We prefer loops 1500 and 2000. 1500 is close to the meadows area, and 2000 has nice large sites! :)

Check out Disney Campers Site (http://www.disneycampers.com) too for good information!
