Just heard on the radio that a 14 year old Spanish girl collapsed and died on a rollercoaster at DLP!

Investigations are being carried out.

It is often found that they have had a heart defect or something that lies undetected. So sad.

My thoughts go out to her family at this sad time

That is so sad. My heart goes out to her family.

In WDW a little boy died on Mission Space and yes, it was because of an underlying condition of his heart. It is just so sad.

It seems it has nothing to do with the ride. She probably had already some health problem.

She was with her school classmates.

Here in Spain medias are saying that the autopsy will probably confirm a vascular problem, as there is a history of heart disease in her family.

This is very sad news & our thoughts go out to the family.

But on a side note, has the ride been opened again or is it still closed?

thats so sad. I think a lot of people have undiagnosed medical problems that come out under the stress of high G rides.

It is a sad day for her family. :(

What a horrible way to find out about a congenital defect, as I am sure that is what the autopsy is going to reveal.

We have already discussed this sad incicent here:
Death at DLP! (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1496648)

The saddest part of all is that it is the third daughter to die to the parents. It seems the family has a history of heart disease that has caused the sudden death two years ago of this girl's twin sister, and four years ago of her older sister.

Here you can find a good article. Sorry it's in Spanish.
