Hey there everyone--I am starting to get back on the wagon. We are booking our Disney Christmas Vacation now and I want to be trim(er) for those photos this year!! I have done Slim 4 Life in the past and lost 40 # in 4 months, but then I didn't have the councelling anymore and put it back on--I ready again to do this and have recently joined the gym too. My goal is low for Decmeber but its the only way I can stay focused and I know I can go beyond my goal.

Anyone else on board want to join me for this 6 month journey and beyond?

MY GOAL = 40# in 6 Months :thumbsup2

I will. Right now I'm exercising to the MK. I'm hoping for a good 25-30 pounds gone by the end of the year and to keep it off for my Sept 08 trip.

Great! Maybe we can keep each other moving along. I am starting my first day at the gym tomorrow. I am expecting to be miserable there--but I will keep thinking of Disney and it will keep me going I think.

I need to look into a ticker!I have a ticker

HA- we were posting at the same time. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I feel motivated...sadly, its Disney that gets me that way--what will I do after the trip and have more weight to lose?:confused3
I am nursing a Torn Peroneal Tendon in my right foot with a Physical Therepist...its the only thing that could hold me back for awhile, until its healed.
WOW- your Marathon photo's are inspiring.

Me me me. I'm trying to talk my brother into going in December. We had talked about Oct probably but I just started classes and that would be hard without missing classes and I don't want to do that.

Problem is he goes to California to go ATVing with his buddies over Christmas. Some family guy huh! :sad2: I mentioned to him about waiting until Christmas or the week after or something but didn't know if he could wait that long. He's ready for a vacation sooner. If we worked it for a super long weekend I could probably go sooner but would miss a day or two of classes and I'd love to shoot for perfect attendance though I think it may be hard having a child as they get sick.

I'd love to lose about 50-60 lbs over the next 6 months though for sure.

I'm working out. It will be a cardio night for me since I am volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House after work and will have to use the apartment equipment instead of the gym.

I'm doing my usual cereal, sandwich, then decent dinner of chicken and asparagus couscous.

Hello!
I need to lose 25 lbs. in 5 months. So glad to have found you. Well wishes for all of you.
Husband made Candlelight Processional reservations at 4 am today.

I had a great salad for dinner. Spinach-lots/strawberries-tons/one piece of bacon/parm.cheese/1/4 cup or less deli turkey/sliverered almonds and 1 T. champagne dressing.

Can I join too? We are also going at Christmas - and I would love to be able to enjoy myself more than worrying and being disgusted with my appearance. I need to lose a total of 80 pounds -- but would be happy with 50-60 by Christmas.

I lost a lot 2 years ago with low carb but gained it back plus more :sad1: as soon as I started eating regular food again. I've been doing WW by myself for the past 2 weeks but no results yet.

I am really confused about the low carb - no carb - low fat - best diet approach. The latest issue of SELF does say that low carb is fastest way to lose but as soon as you start eating carbs again the weight comes back on. (Hmm - -that's what happened to me). Any ideas anyone?

Also -- since having DD (the source of all my weight) -- my thyroid has been messed up and I am having a hard time regulating with meds.

I'd like to join too, please :flower3: My trip to Disney is actually in September, but I like the idea of visualizing how much I'll lose by christmas, as it might be more motivating for me since I could lose more i that time period than I could by september! Right now I'm 220. My goal for my september trip is 199, and my goal for christmas is 175! 45 pounds to go! Hopefully I can lose about 8 pounds per month. I need a place I can be accountable to! I've been yo-yo'ing like crazy.

Is there a weigh-in day or is this challenge freestyle?

My goals for the day -
exercise: 45 minutes of exercise plus walking the dog
food: 1,200 calories, protein & fruit, no breads!

Next short term goal; my size 18 jeans by next wednesday! They almost fit, just a bit too snug right now..

How is everyone else doing? Hope everyone is doing great!

Mary -- seems we have a common affinity for a certain Disney movie!

Well -- I used fitday.com for the first time -- loved it. I'm using my WW tools and I had 20 points and about 1250 calories. I drank 2 liters of water (only 1 cup of coffee and 1 diet coke). Now, I'm having my treat of Diet Green Tree w/ pomegranate (Orient Emporium). No exercise today -- I intended to but I am terribly tired -- I need to get motivated to exercise. I can't believe I was running 5 miles a day a year ago. My schedule changed with my kids and DH's work schedule -- I've got to reschedule time for myself.

Anybody ever do low-carb & WW combined? Thinking of limiting non-veggie/fruit carbs to breakfast and then only veggie/fruit carbs rest of day ... any thoughts?

I started this doggone thing and I am struggling!! Was sick last week and feeling better, but my appetite is back.

Here is some menu tips I am following and have worked in the past

3 proteins a day
4 vegetables
3 fruits
3 starches (1/2 potato, or 1/4 cooked rice, or Kavli bread, or 40 cal. bread or Akmak cracker thats it)
1 fat (1 Tbs low fat mayo or margarine)
Water
Skim milk
2 supps from the slim 4 life plan

Its a lot of food but it keeps your metabolism going all day long--you loose a lot of weight.

HANG IN THERE

Goodjob with the food!! For me, the exercise is easy the not eating a lot is the hard part! I've never done WW so I'm of no help to you there. I do believe in low-carb though! I lost 85 pounds on it two years ago. I gained half of it back because i was eating like a pig after our honeymoon lol! But then I went back to doing even only moderately low-carb during the school year, and it helped me at least not gain anything. Anyway, goodluck, i'm sure you will make it work!

I find when i'm having a hard time getting on the exercise bandwagon, if i ease myself into it, it really helps. Start out small  I'll tell myself "i'll just do ten minutes today.. ten minutes won't hurt me.. ten minutes is nothing..." and then i'll go on the treadmill or something for tenminutes.. usually once i'm on I might do more, but just getting on the darn thing is the hardest part! Anyway it works for me so i thought i might pass the tip along. goodluck! :cool1:

Glad you are feeling better. Being sick totally throws a monkey wrench in your routine, that sucks! Everytime I was doing well this year i'd get sick and it would throw me offtrack! Thanks for the menu tips! I need to start adding in more veggies in my day. I eat lettuce, but i know that's not enough. Hope you are doing well! :cheer2:

Hope everyone is having a good fourth of july today! I'm off to see "transformers" and hope the popcorn doesn't taunt me! I'll bring two bananas in my purse just in case lol.

My goal for the day is 45 minutes of exercise again, maybe "Yourself fitness" on the xbox or a step aerobic tape (that tape wipes me out when i use it!). Food goal - the usual fruit/veggies/protein.

I weighed myself this morning - and I am up 2 pounds

I stayed in the pool for about 4 hours yesterday and did laps with my DS for about 30 minutes. Food wise -- so so. DH got up early and made everyone breakfast (omelettes and toast) -- I ate it since this is a once in a lifetime event and I didn't want to hurt his feelings (I'm still trying to figure out what he wants). No lunch -- not hungry. For dinner, I made WW chili lime chicken and zucchine, yellow squash, onion and tomato sauteed. We did make chocolate shakes last night -- I had 2 sips then threw mine down the sink.

Anyhoo, after the weigh in this morning made me sick -- I signed up for JillianMichaels.com. Unfortunately it took my registration but the site wasn't working properly -- I'll try again later.

Hi there,
Hang in there!! Do you weigh yourself everyday? If so, these changes happen. If you are 2 pounds up and stay on plan for the next 3 days, I bet you will find a loss at the end. I see nothing in what you ate that would have bothered you--its your body adjusting...don't get discourage just kick butt the next few days--exercise should work.:cheer2:

Don't fret. Drink plenty of water, exercise and eat your veggies and fruit. You are back on track to eat healthy and exercise. Good choice omlettes can be something your husband makes you to be supportive. Good choice toast will be supportive as well. We are here to support you and I am encouraged by your honesty and committment. You go girl!! Have a great day.

Sounds like you're doing great!! Don't worry about the day-to-day fluctuations of the scale, it's the overall trend in weightloss that matters. Sometimes just eating something really salty can make your body hold on to a lot of water and shows up on the scale as weight gain, but then disappears just as quickly. Doesn't sound like it's actual weight gain, but I know how disheartening it can be when you work so hard and then that happens!! Hang in there, you're doing great!!

I am on my way to the gym. First time on my own without the trainer--UGH!
Got on the scale today and l lost 4 pounds in just a few days. Something is off, so I am not getting my hopes up. And I even had a hershey bar yesterday (I know) but I just need something sweet. The kicker is, I don't really like Hershey Bars...but I love chocolate. I have been trying to hold true to the plan above and it maybe is paying off.
We'll see in a few days what happens!

KEPP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Congrats on the 4 pounds - that rocks!! :cool1: At a different site I used to go to they called that a "whoosh" or a "whooshie" and say that the "whooshie fairy visited me", I always got a kick out of that. Hope you are having fun at the gym! When I'm really craving chocolate sometimes those weight watcher snacks are good, though I have to be careful to only eat one and not the whole box lol!

Hope everyone is doing well! I've been up and down and up and down this week. I thought i was doing well, and exercising hard, but it takes so little to make the scale go up, it's so frustrating. Anyway, at least it was down today. I want to go exercise but I have to clean the house from top to bottom as my MIL is visiting from out of town this weekend. Cutting the grass is usually a good workout, but i'd prefer going to curves or something.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I'm going in December also. We will be getting to Disney on Dec 29 and staying until January 6th. We will be getting married at Sunset Point on January 3rd.. whoo hooo!!!

I have lost 36 pounds so far since January, and would like to lose another 40 before the trip. I kind of stalled out in June, just being really pmsed and eating junk, junk, junk.

But, I seem to be back on track pretty good so far this month!

Everyone seems to be doing great! I just want to thank everyone for being so optimistic. I watched several episodes of Biggest Loser the other day - so that was alot of motivation for me. I've just been really tired -- hopefully that will fade soon.

Today is a circuit day for me w/ the Jillian Michaels' program. I'm a little bit initimidated with this part I have to admit.

I read the myalli thread -- I keep debating on trying this -- it does seem like those who are taking it are losing more though. I just worry about the side effects. :scared1:

DMSLUSH -- glad to see you made it over here. I just realized you are a fellow Tennessean!

Yes, I'm from Tennessee!

I have thought about the My Alli also. But, I worry that when I stop taking it, I'll just start gaining the weight back. I read the package and it actually said on it, somewhere, that when you stop taking it, if you start to gain weight, you may need to start the meds again. I just would rather take my time and lose the weight a little more slowly at this point than have to worry about gaining it all back. I've been there, done that way too many times.

I know about the ticker--for me, I just made a ticker for the amount I need to loose before Christmas...then I will need to make another one. I just can't look at such big numbers all at once, it just brings me down!!
I went on the high side to because it's what I would hope to loose by then--at this point I would be happy with 20. We had a Block Party yesterday and I kinda blew it--we had order pulled pork BBQ and I had some of that, without the bun :rolleyes1 ...BUT I did not touch the brownies or chips...but that pork was YUMMY! I love coming here--its like some kind of confessional.

I weighed in today and lost a pound. I am thrilled with this. The 4th of July was a bump in the road, and we started celebrating on the 3rd-so, rice krispy treats the size of the MK, potato salad, and a diner meal is my confession. I have not burned any kcals on the track or treadmill the past couple of days. We are cleaning the garage. No excuses, back on track today. This week I am losing two pounds of body fat. Hey everyone----HANG IN THERE.

We went camping this weekend and my gosh its a lot of work, but there is something nice about waking up with weather in the upper 40's than at home in the 90's. The mornings were very chilly...but the whole weekend we had to wear fleece--LOVE THAT.

Now I am back and its 96 degrees:sad2:

I went on a 4 mile hike this weekend. AT first, not too interested but once we got going, I was glad I didn't back down. The fact that it was cool weather helped a lot and we had great friends with us too. I haven;t gotten on the scale yet though. I thought I would give my body a chance to recover from the shock. I'll keep you posted.
