New Beach Blanket Buffet Lunch is AWESOME!!!

Hubby and I didn't even realize it, but for the past month or so there has been a new American buffet at Beach Blanket for lunch on Nassau Day on the Wonder. We normally eat at Triton's and probably wouldn't have bothered to check out the buffet, as we are not crazy about the breakfast buffet. But hubby heard rumor that there was sushi (there is, but only on the 4-day, which also has an Oriental buffet). We went up top Beach Blanket, and our jaws dropped in awe!! Even if you are like me and are not a big buffet person, you've got to check this one out. We'll be posting photos on the website soon, but meanwhile I'll tell you my favorites: turkey, mashed potatoes, cold crab claws, blue cheese apple waldorf salad, and the warm blueberry cobbler. Disney gets a big A++++++ for this new addition!!

Someone on the crew told us that the original idea for this came from the Magic, so I suspect that they have it too.

When we were on the 7-day in Sept. of 2000, they had the crab legs at the lunch buffet. But no crab leg crackers! I asked, but none were available. But maybe the crab claws are easier to manage without crackers.

Barb, did you happen to notice if there were any available?

There are crackers, but you have to ask for them. The claws are pre-slit, so you could probably manage without them if you had to.
Hubby took lots of photos of the buffet, since there is no paper menu available. We will be posting them on our website this weekend. Just looking at them made me drool all over again! (And you may notice a crew member hamming it up for the camera by doing his Hercules impression by the desserts).
