We leave 10/7 also. It's so fun to find people traveling around the same time frame. Can I ask where you're staying?
Last year as we were trying to find our room at ASMo, a gentleman *not* traveling with us put his room key in our door thinking it was his and his family's room. lol We all laughed it off and they were actually supposed to be one room down. Long story short, I posted this on the boards when we got home and small world-it was a fellow dis'ers husband and family!! It was a very informal and accidental Dis Meet but still fun.
Maybe we'll keep this thread going so we can all count down together! :)

That's cool. :cool2: I think we'll probably be in the Calypso building or the Jazz Inn. Those are the only 2 with family suites. My mom will be traveling with us and she'll have a wheelchair so we requested 1st floor poolside and I believe the closest building to the pool is the Calypso so more than likely we'll be there. Who is traveling with you? We are my DH, DM, DD 16, DD 14 and DD 10 and myself!

Awesome! Sounds like you'll have a full house! Is it anyone's first trip? :)
It'll be Joe (my hubby) and I. We'll be there for our 3rd anniversary. Do you have all your ADR's set? What about MNSSHP? We've got our tickets for 10/4 but are considering going on 9/30 as well. :)

It is all of our first trip to WDW and first time flying too for most of us. We also have tickets to the MNSSHP for 10/4 :rotfl: Yes, we've made all our advance reservations too. Just finished them up last night. Here goes:
9/27 Chef Mickey's
9/28 Cap N' Jacks
9/29 Liberty Tree Tavern
9/30 O'Hanas
10/1 Rainforest Cafe (lunch), Whispering Canyon (dinner)
10/2 Akershus (breakfast), 50's Prime Time (dinner)
10/3 Boma's
10/4 Crystal Palace
10/5 Coral Reef
10/6 1900 Park Fare
Do you have your ADRs? Where are you going to eat? We have the dining plan. I really wanted to get in L' celliers but it was booked for the week and I'd rather have advanced reservations then just wing it!!

I suppose it's just as well...that would have been a little too weird! lol Do you wanna share your ADR's or any of your plans?
For every ten days down, Joe and I are going to watch a Disney movie. So last night we watched The Lion King. So in 10 days we'll watch another and so on....fun! :)
Skippy24
06-24-2007, 09:04 AM
I like the idea of watching the movies! It give you baby steps to get to the big trip. I'm actually really excited about my ADR's since it's only our third trip I decided to try all new places.
9/30 Akershus-breakfast, Marrekesh-dinner
10/1 Liberty Tree Tavern - Dinner
10/2 Sci-Fi Dine in - lunch
10/4 Coral Reef Lunch
10/7 Cape May Cafe - Breakfast
How about you?

Oooh those look like great ADR's! Good for you for trying new places! Joe and I are creatures of habit and are eating at mostly the same places but a couple are new. Here's ours:
Here's ours:
9/29 ESPN Club (our favorite and first night tradition!)
9/30 Trail's End at Fort Wilderness and then the campfire sing a long!
10/1 Spoodles breakfast & Hollywood and Vine (Fantasmic package)
10/2 Kona Dinner
10/3 Whispering Canyon Cafe lunch & Yachstman Steakhouse
10/4 Whispering Canyon Cafe breakfast
10/5 Coral Reef Lunch & Chef Mickey's dinner
So out of our 10 ADR's, 7 are new. Hm! Guess that's not so bad! :)
Where are you staying?
Skippy24
06-24-2007, 10:22 AM
Ohh, i'm hopeing to try Spoodles at some point this trip. We are actually staying at the Beach Club resort.
The one place that we will probably do again in the Big River Grill. On our last two trips we've ended up there for our first nights dinner. So I can see us ended up there again. :rotfl: I also really enjoy their hazelnut crusted chicken.
Also good for you for trying new places. I find it very hard to decide where to try because there are so many choices. :rotfl2:
sandybobandy
06-24-2007, 10:27 AM
We liked Big River when we were there a couple years ago! We were just shocked when I asked for pickles and they said they didn't serve them there. lol

Welcome back Lynne! Did you have fun camping? :)
Our Coral Reef ressie is for 2pm. Maybe we'll overlap. :)
When the 40% off code was found out by disser's on the codes & rates board, I called up Disney and asked if either joe or I had a pin code attached to our names and we did! It was under his name at our old address. I have no idea what qualifies people to get codes but we were really excited to get it. So we're using that and are paying for the dining plan.

I was just commending Skippy because she had some new ADR's. Out of our 10 ressies, 7 are new places. My husband and I are creatures of habit and love what we love. We don't try new things often but when the dining plan is available, it's silly not to take advantage :)
And Echo, I see you did a cruise a couple years ago. Did you enjoy yourself? Joe and I are booked for our first Disney cruise next year! :)

I had to change two of our dinner reservations. I had forgot that on 9/27 when we arrive to WDW that MK will have having the MNSSHP @ 7:00 and our Chef Mickey dinner was @ 9:00. We figured it wouldn't be worth it to go back to ASM at 7:00 cause by the time we'd get there it'd be time to turn around. I also didn't want to have to hang around the Contemporary for 2 hours! :scared1: I ended up changing Chef Mickey to our last night 10/6 and 1900 Park Fare for our first night at 7:15 which is more convenient. They said the 1900 Park Fare will actually be at the Grand Floridian Cafe since they are remoldeling it during that time but it will be the same Cinderella Gala Feast meal. Sounds good to me!
Sandy, what time is your Chef Mickey meal on the 6th? Ours is at 7:50 pm. That was another reason also for changing Chef Mickey because I heard it closes at 9:30 and that would of been to rushed! I want to be able to have the characters come to our table! :yay: This is like the 4th time I change things :lmao:

Hey Lynne!
Okay, I'm kinda confused. You're doing MNSS on 9/27? Because last year they let us into the park for the party at 4pm. So there'd be no reason to have to go back to the resort prior to the party. Maybe I read it wrong.
I probably mis-spoke....we're leaving on 6th so we'll be at Chef Mickey's on 10/5. Eeks! Can't wait! lol

Ok, I think I was a little confused yesterday too. I thought there was a MNSSHP on 9/27 but it seems there isn't. I was thinking that we'd have to leave the park at 7:00 since we are not going till October 4th to the MNSSHP. Anyway regardless I'm glad we changed our Chef Mickey ressies because it closes at 9:30 and our ressies were at 9:00 pm. Yeah, I probably misread the day you were leaving too. For some reason I was thinking it was the same day as us! :confused3 I'm still glad I changed those 2 ressies around. No, we've never been to MNSSHP before because we've never been to Disney before! This is our first time. :cool1:

Me (26 at the time of travel), my hubby (28 at time of travel), our kidlets 5 &2, my mom, my brother and sister in law!
I havn't been to DisneyWorld since 1991, as a family vacation. My mom and I did Disneyland for 8 years in a row, with our last trip being in 1998.
So while it won't be my *first* trip...it's been a long time. It'll be a first for my babies though, and I can't wait to see the world thru their eyes! :)

Awwww! You guys are going to have such a magical time! Joe (also 28) and I (I'll be 25 when we go) can't wait to bring our kids the first time to Disney. We're not planning on trying for kids for another few years but it's definitely one of those things I'm looking forward to.
Where are you staying? Did you already mention it? I probably missed it. lol Do you want to share your ADR's? We stayed at ASMo last year and Loooooved it. We took a ton of pics there too-would love to share them if you want to see. We were in the Love Bug building.

We're staying at ASMo with a request in the Buzz Lightyear area with an adjoining room for my mom, she's agreed to take the kids back to the hotel around bedtime if Tom (DH) and I want to hang out at the parks later! :)
This is what I have so far for our ADR's:
10/3 - Nothing planned (Arrival day)
10/4 - Chef Mickey's - Dinner
10/5 - Coral Reef - Dinner
10/6 - Crystal Palace - Breakfast
107 - Rose & Crown - Dinner
10/8 - Tony's Town Square (I'm not sure that we're keeping this ressie - we haven't decided 100% on doing MNSSHP)
10/9 - Brown Derby - Dinner
10/10 - Capt'n Jacks - Lunch (Departure day)

Great great great ADR's! Such a variety! We've only eaten at one place on your list (Chef Mickey's) but are scheduled to eat at CR this year. All the other ones on your list are foreign to me.
I see you're from IL-we're in MN :) Do you drive or fly? We drive!
With the few of us traveling at the same time and staying relatively close together, we should try to carve out 15 minutes during the trip and meet! That would be so fun! (I tend to get ahead of myself if you couldn't tell. lol)
Rapunzel
06-25-2007, 05:54 PM
We're flying! No way I'd be able to survive that long in the car with my kiddos. Or maybe they wouldn't survive that long? :rotfl: I was ready to pay the 203.30/person a ticket - then one morning I was browsing united's website and came across tickets for 128.20/person and booked 7 tickets right then. I realized that we only spent like $90 more on SEVEN tickets then it would have been for the 4 of us to fly!
Some of the resturants were not our first choices...but we're traveling with my brother and his wife, and they're vegetarians (who eat seafood)..so we tried to pick places that would be kid & veggie family friendly. I was able to sneek in 2 character meals, so I'm happy. :) Also, my mom has been RAVING about the Brown Derby since I brought up the WDW vacation, so my brother and I have agreed to suprise her with that.
I'd love to meet some new people! We'll be around from the 3rd-10th :)

My girls are: Just turned 5, almost 7, and 9 1/2- that 1/2 is very important, ya know! They are so excited for this trip, mostly because Grammy and Poppop are coming with us for most of the trip, and they have never really done Disney (just a couple of day trips to MK). The girls can't wait to show them what it's all about. Plus, my Aunt and little cousin age 11 have never been, so they are meeting us down there for a few days as well. Nothing like going to Disney with newbies. It should be fun. Still trying to decide on costumes for the party. The girls keep changing their minds. My parents and aunt will be gone by then, so it will just be our family of 5 at the party, which will be nice. Any costume ideas?

Great pictures! I'm getting real excited now :cool1: I had another marathon with the ADRs today, lol. Ok, for hopefully the last time:
9/27 Mama Melrose's
9/28 1900 Park Fare (under construction) at Grand Floridian Cafe
9/29 Liberty Tree Tavern
9/30 Ohana
10/1 Whispering Canyon
10/2 Akershus (breakfast), Chef Mickey's
10/3 Rainforest Cafe (lunch)
10/4 Crystal Palace
10/5 Coral Reef
10/6 Hoop Dee Doo Revue (had to add this one in) 9:30 show
Got rid of 50's PT, Boma's and Cap'Jack. I ended up adding Mama Melrose's cause my daughters all love italian and we didn't have a specific one yet. Wasn't sure if they'd like anything at Boma's since they are more picky.

Thanks Sandy for posting those codes. I called Disney and it does not apply to the family suite at All Star Music. I was told I could get two rooms at ASMu but after talking it over with my family we have decided we'd rather all be together in the family suite. It was worth the try though! :thumbsup2 I'm really looking forward to going in September. Right now I am eating, drinking and sleeping DISNEY

Confession:
I left several items in the suitcase from last year. So technically......I never unpacked everything. :) So I consider myself semi-packed!!!! Hahahaha! Every night I tease Joe and ask him if I can throw a couple pairs of socks into the suitcase. He looks at me like, "ummm....I don't *think* so". lol
Let me know how your talk with Debbie goes!! Have you seen the birthday/anniversary cake thread on the restaurants board? Looks like cakes can be delivered to the Coral Reef. Maybe something to consider. We have always gotten the anniversary castle cake but don't think we'll be able to this year since we're not eating at a GF restaurant. Something tells me we'll be okay with out it this year though. :)
Oh and one more thing-we dropped two OOP restaurants from our list. We dropped Trail's End dinner and Spoodles breakfast. We were planning on doing TE before we head over to the sing-a-long/S'mores making/campfire movie but we'll just go for that and not dinner.

You see, I'm "in charge". In charge of planning this trip for the 7 of us. My mom, brother and SIL as well as my hubby and kids are all depending on me to pick the best parks on the best days...the best resturants that will give us the most "bang for our buck" on the DDP. I'm feeling the pressure! :scared:
Yeah maybe I will check out TGM...lol. Then I can feel all high and mighty when everyone has a fantastic time. I'll secretly be thanking TGM, but my family will think I'm the master of Disney Trips and invite me along for every trip they decide to take...:cool2:

Ahh yes...you are the tour guide :) THE tour guide. lol I'm sure you'll do great and everyone is going to be so impressed. Have you posted your ADR's? I might have to go back and snoop and look.
Let me know what you think of TGM. I've read sooo many mixed reviews on him! I too like to know everything I can about Disney. However, we didn't use him last year and did everything we wanted to do within a reasonable amount of time. We got to MGM at rope drop and had read here on the Dis to go on ToT and get fast passes for RnR (since I don't do either ride, I got the fast pass for Joe). We never waited for any rides.
The only time we do Magic Kingdom is during MNSS and last year all rides were walk on. Seriously-we never had to wait for any ride.
We don't really enjoy AK so we've skipped that the last couple years.
And at Epcot, we've done the Segway tour that is at 7:45am and then hit the world showcase afterwards. The park starts to clear around 2 or 3 which is when we do rides with minimal wait times.
So now the more I talk about it, the less I think I need TGM. :) Then again, it's just me and Joe so it's pretty easy to get around. I'm sure when we have kiddos I'll look for the extra help!

sandybobandy
07-09-2007, 08:43 PM
Hey Skip!
I remember needing a poncho ONCE last year while we were at the MK. We had it on literally for about 6 minutes and didn't wear them again the rest of the trip. It rained in the middle of the night I remember but not during the day. And remember, the Florida rainshowers aren't normal rainshowers-when they say scattered, they mean scattered! lol I mean, you could be over at Frontierland, we could be in Fantasyland and it's pouring and you wouldn't even know it! :)

Yeah I have a bunch of collectible stuff that was taking over my house so I am depleting and making some money. I haven't had to list anything on Ebay yet as I just have been selling to interested buyers so far. Have you gotten all your details done for the trip? I still have some loose ends to tie up. I'd like to get most things done by the end of this month. Is your trip paid yet? Our isn't but I want to make the final payment soon. I can't believe how quickly it's coming. Yep, I think we've got most things set. We are actually considering doing the House of Blues gospel brunch on Sunday morning on the 30th. The menu sounds too tasty to pass up! :) And yup-we made our final payment last night. What a fun feelin!
Darn right next month we can say we're going "next month"! I keep looking for little milestones to mark the time passing. Later this month my mom and I are traveling to Iowa for my neice's dedication, then my birthday is August 10the (I'll be the big 2-5!) and then it's the MN State Fair the last weekend of August (big deal around here!) and then it's September and then it's time to go! lol So ya see...it's right around the corner :)

Ohh that might be fun!! We're a party of 7 (1 is under 3 though). 5 Adults - 1 5yr old, 1 2yr old.
Depending on the cost I'd definatly be interested.

Hey!
Okay, so I called Disney recreation and the most people the biggest boat can hold is 10. Just between the three of us, we have 15 :) so I don't think that could work. I did ask for a couple of random dates (9/30 and 10/3) and there was currently no Illuminations cruise available for those dates (it didn't occur to me to ask them to check if a Wishes cruise is available too). Oh and the cost for the cruise including tax, the driver, and snacks was around $275.
Sooooo...I'm not sure where this info puts us since we couldn't all do it together and I know we all have our itineraries pretty well set.
If you have any ideas let me know.
Another thought is we can do some other type of mini meet at a park or resort or something. I'd love a "99 days to go" group picture! :)

I talked to DH and he's interested, however - he thinks it would be better if we went without the kiddos.
So - It would probably just be DH and I and we'll send the kids with Grandma, Uncle "Ick" (There IS a story behind that :rotfl: ) and Auntie K.
We'll be there the 3rd - 10th - I don't think the 3rd would work for us.
sandybobandy
07-16-2007, 06:15 PM
Well that would put us at 10 which is perfect. I know Joe and I for *sure* are unable to do this on 10/1,10/2, and 10/4 since we have stuff that just can't be moved around. So maybe 10/5 will work? That's our Epcot day so it'd work quite well for us.
I'm not entirely sure what we can work out....Maybe I'll call Disney and ask for availability during our time frame and see what I can find out. I'll do that right now....
Now-let's hear the story about Uncle Ick! lol
Rapunzel
07-16-2007, 06:19 PM
I was going to post it in the trip report under "Cast" but - well since I doubt my trip report will rock I'll tell ya!
My brother's name is Rick. For the LONGEST time Parker (my son) would call him "Uk" then one random day we were visiting and Parker says in the clearest voice (at the age of 2) "HI UNCLE ICK!" So...he's been Dubbed Uncle Ick. Parker can now say "Uncle Rick" but he tells his sister to call him "Uncle Ick". :upsidedow

I just called and on October 5th (Friday) they had the large 10 person boat available for Illuminations so I grabbed it!
I'm *really* hoping that'll work out for us. I don't want anybody to feel left out so let's see what we can work out!!! I have until 24 hours prior to the cruise to cancel.

Here's the description of the cruise compliments of allearsnet.com
Want to see Epcot's IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth spectacular in style? Consider renting the Breathless from the Yacht and Beach Club Marina or a Pontoon boat from either the YC/BC Marina or the Boardwalk Marina!
Pontoon Boats -- Another option for an IllumiNations cruise is a 24-foot pontoon boat, which seats 10 comfortably. The pontoon has a canopy, is roomier, and has some drink holders. When you rent either boat, it belongs to your party for the show; meaning the only people there will be the ones you've invited! The price for a pontoon IllumiNations Cruise starts at $234.74 + tax, for a maximum of 12 people (10 adults). Cost includes a driver, bagged snacks (pretzels, chips, popcorn), water and Coke products. Other food and beverage items are available through Yacht Club Private Dining at 407-934-3160. You may not bring your own food or beverages on board.
Eeeks! Too! Excited! To! Think! lol

I don't have my plans sitting in front of me, but I do belive the 5th will work for us.
Did they say how much it is + tax? If 10 of us go it should be less then $30/person right? Sounds awesome!

Good morning!!!!!
As long as the boat is filled up, the cost is $27.50 per person. :)
I have to get off to work. Will check back later-hopefully the others will let me know if this'll work for them too.
Have a magical day! (so cheesy-lol)

Hey Sandy,
That date would work perfect for us too. We are planning to be at Epcot that night cause we have Coral Reef ressies at 4:00. What time does the cruise start? Let me talk with my hubby and family later and maybe I can get our numbers down. Mom and my teenage daughters might not care if they can do it or not but I have a feeling my youngest daughter will want to be with mommy. So we may only have 3. Let me talk it over with them later and get back to you for sure. OK?

Garden Grocer? Never heard of it! I assume it's a grocery delivery service? With all the eating we're doign on the dining plan I'm not sure we'll need it but it's worth looking into! :)
OH! Joe and I booked the House of Blues gospel brunch this morning for Sunday 9/30! I'm so excited. I hear great things about it and am really looking forward to it.
According to my countdown, we're at 69 days! Yahooooo! :)

07-19-2007, 10:57 PM
Yep, it's a grocery delivery service. We arn't on the dining plan and with two kids it's easier to have something ready in the room and things that you can take with you to the parks for that all of a sudden I need a drink or a snack.
This is my first time using them, but i've heard good things. On our first trip I shipped out stuff, big hassle and expensive shipping. Second trip I only brought a few things with us, but I found that I did alot of running between our room and the hotel store to get stuff. So I'm hopeing this works out well for us.
Forgot to add...

Happy Sunday!
Joe and I stayed up last night until a little after 11 talking about our trip. When we had originally booked it, I was at my old job. Well a month ago I accepted the position at the doggy daycare and took a significant paycut. We're paying this trip with cash and as we continue to add things (like the concourse breakfast, chef mickey's, etc) we forget that I'm not making the same kind of money! lol!! So, we're just thinking about modifying some things but not too much.
Anyway, have a great day today!!! The tickers are looking awesome! :)

Hi Linda!
Thank you for your well wishes. The city is slowly returning to normal. It's still surreal. Joe's company's parking lot is being used as a command center so he's got the FBI, fire marshalls, national guard, along with helicopters all over the place. George (Bush) was here yesterday and it's a little weird how he came such a short amount of time after the tragedy but it took him forever to get to Louisianna. Ah well-guess that's a whole 'nother topic. :)
My countdown here at home says 52 days!!! Can't believe we'll be in the 40's soon. Then the 30's, then the 20's, then holy crap the teens! lol
Have a great day!
Skippy, I can relate. We had a Disney cruise planned for this past Feb. I was sooo excited. Had never even cruised before. However, last fall we started home renovations, got involved with an AWFUL contractor, basically a crook IMO :headache: , and had to hire someone else to fix the absolute mess this guy made of our house. So needless to say the project cost WAAAY more than it was supposed and we had to make the decision to cancel the cruise while we could still get our deposit back. It was a big disappointment :sad1: . But our trip was not paid for at the time. If your trip is already paid, you might as well go and enjoy yourself. Because it seems like something always comes up. I still wonder if should've just gone on the cruise, but I think we made the right decision. Anyway, we are now heading down to WDW in 3 weeks with the free dining, staying at Sports. Much cheaper than the cruise and we are all (me, DH, and 2 DS's) very happy to be able to go.

Hey there!
Actually, I don't think they're sent out until 20-30 days prior to arrival so don't worry quite yet-we haven't gotten ours either.

Hi Sandybonandy,
You said on an earlier post that Friday is your b-day, so I just wanted to say ahead of time.
Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you!!! I hope it's a great one!!! :cool1: :cheer2:

Ok since my counter is down to only 51 days, I was just wondering how early does everyone start packing? It's become a joke around here that i'm packed 6 months in advance. Even though it's actually more like 2 weeks. :rotfl:
So I was wondering what everyone else does.

Skippy, I have a confession. I am still semi packed from last year (!!!!) LOL! My thinking was, that if I don't unpack, it means I'm definitely going back. Seems to have worked! :)
Anyway, we leave here for St Louis on 9/27 so I"ll probably start packing 9/21 or 9/22. Just remember not to pack stuff you need to early! Haha!

I'm off to "do" my birthday-you guys have a great day!

Awww thanks guys! I had a really wonderful day. When we got home from dinner, Joe had one last surprise. It was The Little Mermaid Platinum Edition 2-Disc movie and the card that he gave me was one of those musical cards that play songs when you open it. Can you guess the song? Under the Sea! It is so cute! :)
Have a great weekend!!

Morning Sandy:)
Well I tried for the code but I would of had to change my dates. Which would of meant trying to change flights, dinner ressies, more time off from school etc. It wasn't worth it. The code only works if I am arriving on Sept. 30th or anyday after that. But that is ok, I'd much rather arrive on Sept. 27th!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooohoooooooo!

Well dang. Was hoping you'd be able to use it. I guess you could always book the discount for the dates valid and then do a separate room only ressie for the first three nights, but that might get kinda complicated.
Got my Disney tank top from Disney Shopping today! It's so cute-can't wait to wear it! :)

I have a question. Is it between 30-40 days or 20-30 that you should typically receive your documents? I can't remember and i'm wondering if it's these next 10 days that I will be checking for the mail every 10 min. :rotfl:

I actually called the other day because I assumed that when I paid it off i would recieve something and I havn't.
The CM told me that they send out ME tags and final documents 2-3 weeks before you arrive. So anywhere from 28-21 days before you leave they'll be mailed. Hope this helps!
I'm still in the 40's! :( LOL
sandybobandy
08-17-2007, 12:28 PM
Yep, that's what I remember-about 20-25 days prior to arrival they send everything out. Although, I"m not sure about ME since we've never needed to use it.
Can you believe we'll be in the 30's tomororw???

Honestly though it's a good idea to get that type of stuff packed now so you can worry about the nitty gritty clothes and sunscreen and stuff like that when the time comes.

Alright, it's time to start getting to the nitty gritty for my "surprises" for Joe!
I need to really sit down and compile my scavenger hunt list and I definitely need to narrow down my choice of which restaurants I'll order a cake for since we'll be there for our anniversary.
I think I'll wait to clothes shop after Labor Day incase there are some sales.
It's going to be realllly weird to see our tickers not read "month" anymore!!

I can't believe how close we're getting now to our trip :hourglass
What I need to do now, is get the pictures together and email them for the Coral Reef Restaurant menu! :yay:
I haven't started packing yet, but do need to do some shopping and pick up some stuff I'll need. I may need to buy some more luggage too!
I called up today and confirmed all my dinner ressies.
Next Monday I start work again, I work in a school :teacher: but that means it's getting closer!
