17 days left DW Travel asking AKL reserv. to Move!!!

Got a phone call this morning!!!!! The disney Resort Travel is asking AKL residents to move hotels, voluntary!!!!!
We are going July 7- 14th!!! They are asking us to move to Sarratoga springs at a discount and that will give us $600 back to us!
My thought is we have a savvanah view room and we have 3 kids 6yr, 3yr and a son whom is turning 1 on the trip!
Then I called the actual hotel. They will only have 3rd floor savannah view open!!! Floors 4, 5 and 6 are closed!!
Let them know I would call back today! Geesh we booked our trip last september and it is 17 days before we go!
What should we do? Help? Let them know I would call them back.
What other hotel should we stay at! We wanted to stay there for the experience. Anyone just there that saw the consturction! HELP!!

Wow AKL to SSR??? I stayed at AKL last year w/a Savannah view and although I have only seen pictures of SSR I don't think you can really compare to two. I know that you get more room at SSR but it doesn't feel very "Disney" to me. I would say no or ask for a different resort.

ok, just got off the phone with disney travel! WOW! they said that only SSR was available at the moment to offer! UHH NOOOOOOOOOO I do not think so. So they said they will call back this afternoon to see what they could do for me. geesh this does not seem very disney like. so I am waiting for a call
oh and the lady I spoke to said there was goingto be a ton of noise!

eeyore, I haven't been to Akl since they started construction, but I haven't read many threads saying that there was a lot of noise going on at the resort. The worst account I heard was of minimal noise in the afternoon, but I haven't been there first hand.

I wonder if the hotel has overbooked and they are now trying to "scare" you into changin your reservations by making AKL seem like an unattractive choice? Just a thought.

I hope that you can find a satisfactory solution!

We are switching currently to the poly!!! and now her computer is going wacky. first it was a $1050.69c difference to us now it is a $700 more to switch!! She just put me on hold she is confused!!

I would probably stay put, but that is just me. I hope it all works out. Have a good trip!! It will be magical no matter where you stay. Poly would be good, but I would try hard to have them absorb it. You were perfectly happy where you were, especially with 17 days before you go.

Also - any noise is more than likely going to be during the day when you are probably out. Of course with a 1 year old, not sure if you will be coming back to the hotel.

oh we moved to the poly! No charge to us and they threw in a vip seeting for the fireworks at epcot as a bonus. we are not the only ones asked to move. they are speeding up construction and are redoing floors 4,5 and 6. so we were a savannah view. We are excited for the poly now and on the monorail itself!!!!!

I've heard POLY is really nice....I'm sure you'll have a great time! I'd love to be on the monorail route!!
