When I booked our room through MS for April, I didn't mention that we will be there celebrating our 8th anniversary. Should I call back and mention it? Do they do anything special upon arrival?
thanks!

You can mention it but they didn't do anything for my parent's 50th anniversary....or any other celebration we've had there.

When I made our reservations for OKW a couple years ago, I mentioned we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. I also mentioned it when checking in. I was told that if we needed anything to help us celebrate, they'd be happy to arrange it at Olivia's .....for a fee. I did go over & look at what they were offering, but in my opinion, the prices were way too high.

It won't hurt for you to mention it. Just don't get your heart set on the idea that they will do something. We've celebrated anniversaries and birthdays there and nothing was ever done that was not prearranged and paid for in advance.

I mentioned that we would be celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary when I made our reservations for BWV and VWL this past August. They faxed me their list of "amenities" that can be ordered through the hotel, but I didn't like any of the things offered. The CM also suggested the Disney florist to arrange something. As the others have said, nothing was mentioned when we arrived and nothing special was done during our stay, but we did get a BW view for our Preferred points reservation. :)
While it doesn't help at DVC, it's a good idea to mention that you're celebrating something when you make your restaurant PS's. At Artist Pointe on the day of our anniversary our server wished us a "Happy Anniversary" and brought a small cake with two candles over to our table.

I know your post was specific to OKW, but I thought I'd mention that when DH booked our trip to BWV last year, he mentioned that it was our anniversary. On day 2, we arrived back to the room to find a box tied with ribbon and 2 helium-filled balloons, with a greeting card. In the box was a nice wooden picture frame with an easel. We were very pleased.
I find it curious that BWV does this and OKW does not.

we were there last june 6th our 4th aniverary, i didn't mention anything at check in. however that day we received a card with a picture of chip and dale with balloons wishing us a happy 5th anniversary. the only thing we can think of is the night before my daughter and i went to the gift shop and i bought him his dvc jacket he wanted and mentioned it was our anniversary the next day to the cm who helped us. we enjoyed the card and got a kick out of the 5th since it was our 4th.

We are celebrating our 10th anniversary while on our trip to OKW this May. I mentioned it to the CM when making the ressie. My confirmation came in and on the bottom page it stated that we were celebrating our 10th. Doesn't hurt to mention it. It would be nice if someone just said "Happy Anniversary" at check in! :)
