Howdy all!

I sure would like to include a cd with the songs in my trip scrapbook.

Thanks!

I've never seen a list of the songs that play at the Fort. I do know there is a compilation of the songs that are played at the Wilderness Lodge out there, because I made a CD of it.

I too have always wanted to get a list of the music, but I've never been able to find any information on it.

I'm surprised there was a thread on DIS but I think it has been removed that had numerous back ground music for all the resorts and parks........

Rhonda can you find it?????

Try The Bluegrass Sessions by Bela Fleck. This CD has music that was played in the background when we stayed at FW in the early 00's. The last time we were there they were playing holiday music and the time before that there was some haunting howling as we walked through the path that goes between the 100 loop and the bus stop. I felt that was more WLish, maybe it was just a small part of the BGM? I don't know what's playing there now.

You can listen to samples here:

I think some of the music is similiar between FW and WL. I'm pretty sure I heard some Bela Fleck at FW, and I know they were playing Bela Fleck while at WL.

If you're interested in checking out Bela's stuff, I'd recommend Tales from the Acoustic Planet 2, UFO Tofu, Outbound, and Live Art (live CD).

EDIT: Darn, Cottontail beat me by a minute ... Yep 'Tales from the Acoustic 2' is the 'Bluegrass sessions', which is what I heard last time at FW over October. I'm pretty sure I also heard True North off 'UFO Tofu', and Copeland's Hoedown from 'Outbound'

I have it (along with Oh, Mickey where art thou?) in my 3 CD changer right now (I'm SO up with the times!). I didn't know about the other two, I'll definitely have to get those, I could listen to Tales 2 all day.

Yep, according to the first link that thread is gone, I think the only thing that will save me is I believe I bookmarked her web page with the BGM. I'll search for it, and I don't know, I can't post it here so I'll get it through on the underground railroad.

Well they removed the link because it's actually not very kosher to be illegally downloading all that copyrighted music ;)

Not saying it's right or wrong, but that's why it was removed.

Yeah you are prolly right.......it was about 300 posts long and went on for months.......the copyright cops jumped all over it popcorn::

I know it went on for months, and they probably didn't care, but someone complained, and I'm sure they were told to remove it.

It wasn't legal, that's all there is to it. It was only a matter of time before it was removed.

By the way, in case some of you are wondering, a large portion of the music played at the Wilderness Lodge is from John Barry's musical score from the movie "Dances With Wolves". More than half the music at the Lodge is from that movie I believe, of course fittingly.

It's a great CD if you don't own it, goes from relaxing to thunderous, nice background music to have playing while relaxing out in front of your campsite as well! :)

It was removed, I doubt there is anything she can do, it no longer exists.

Even so, I don't think the other mods would be happy with other mods bringing deleted threads back to life...lol.

Does anyone know if the music they play in the main office at the entrance to the Fort, is the same they play at Pioneer Hall?

I've always loved sitting in one of the rocking chairs outside the main office watching everyone check in when we first get to the Fort. They pipe the music outside as well, it's always great.

I don't know if it's the same music but it's just as peaceful. Our last trip after I checked in I was standing at the top of those stairs as I called my parents to let them know we'd arrived safely. The music was playing, the flowers were all in bloom at the bottom of the steps (and it was December), I just soaked it in, the vacation and relaxation started right there. (I just realized I'm a bad daughter, I raced to check in and THEN called my parents to say we had a safe trip, oops! Priorities!)

We were at the Lodge in May..from the 19th to the 26th...and we were dissapointed as the music had changed since our last visit. :sad1: It wasn't anywhere as nice as we remembered. /They had some music from Tombstone..and the music from Mighty Ducks( kind of wierd) on this trip. We preferred the older music that included tracks from Last of the Mohicans...didn't hear any of that during our stay.
