I was thinking of staying until 5/28 instead of 5/27 for John Con. I checked on rates and flying into Columbus, OH seems the cheapest at $149. I've always wanted to go to Paramount's Kings Island and now I have the chance. I will also bring towels and wax for John's head. :)

Barry, are you going to 6 Flags Worlds of Adventure? X-Flight, Villain, and Batman Knight Flight are not to be missed! We are going there after breakfast on Mon., Tues., and maybe Wed. as well. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We want to get to Kings Island, too, but it's a pretty long ride in the wrong direction for us. :(

I think I will. PKI is closed when I want to go. :( I might just drive to Six Flags WOA.

Barry, I don't think I realized what a true, true coaster (thrill ride) maniac you really are! :D

And Nancy and Barry....I didn't realize you two were true coaster maniacs either. :)

I was thinking of trying to go to Kennywood too.

You should see me plan for Barb Con. I am trying to connect the dots for three states! :)

Barry, 6 Flags WoA is only about 15 min. from John's house! Kennywood is about 120 miles from Akron, which is south of John's. It's 284 miles from Allentown (Barb's). I would suggest you avoid Kennywood on a Friday night. It draws a very rough inner city crowd then, and changes from a very nice historic park with good coasters to a place you don't want to be if you're smart. That was our experience there, confirmed by quite a few PA ACE members we've talked to about it. We're pretty familiar with the PA parks if you have any questions.

I'm try to avoid any parks in a Saturday!

How is Six Flags America and Great America (in NJ)?

Barry, we're planning to go to 6 Flags Great ADVENTURE, in NJ after our Dorney stop on the Barb-Con trip. It's a really good park, a lot of coasters, including:
Medusa (Similar to Kraken)
Nitro (245 ft hypercoaster)
Batman the Ride (inverted)
Batman & Robin, the Chiller (goes forward & back)
Great American Scream Machine (steel, looping)
A racing woodie (I forgot the name :o )
a good mine train coaster
and a few others I just can't remember right now.

They also have a drive thru animal safari which was included in our season passes last year. :D The babboons were incredible! :D

We will go to Dorney after breakfast at Barb's on Sunday, spend Monday at Dorney, then move on to Great Adventure on Tuesday. We will go there Tues and Wed, then probably head for home.

As far as 6 Flags America in Annapolis, we've only been there once. It has a Superman hypercoaster, but we like the one in New England better. It also has X-Flight, like the one in Ohio, but it was down on the day we were there so we didn't get to ride it. Roar is a good woodie, there was at least one other woodie. Two face is a boomerang-style coaster with seats facing both ways, and Riddlers Revenge is a looping steel coaster.

My personal opinion is that we like Great Adventure in NJ better, but they're both good parks. :D If you're going to spend more than 3 days in 6 Flags parks, their season pass is the way to go. You can buy it from Worlds of Adventure in Ohio right now for $99 (I think), and use it in all the other 6 flags parks.

You could combine all these parks, and make a week's trip out of it, and avoid Sat in a park!

Fri or Sat - fly in, go to Barb's
Sat - Barb's
Sun - breakfast at Barb's, Dorney
Mon - Dorney
Tues & Wed - Great Adventure (NJ)
Thurs & Fri - Great America (Annapolis)
Sat - go home

See, now I'm planning your trip! :jester: Guess that maintains my status as a commando! :earseek:

Seriously, you or anyone else who wants to ride some coasters, please join us!

Thanks for the help! Now I have to start paying you. :)

Actually, I'm trying to find an alternative for Kennywood. I don't feel like driving 6 hours for it. I looked on a map. Where I fly in (Philadelphia) is on one end of the state and Pittsburg is on the other end!

All I know is that I'm meeting a friend at Dorney or Six Flags whatcamacallit in NJ on Friday. I'm flying in on Sunday 7/21 and flying out on 7/29.

Ouch - Wax and a towel???

No fair. I was away for a week and couldn't defend myself. My bald head is now a nice shade of red thanks to the Caribbean sun. :)

An extra day in Ohio would be great. I'm so looking forward to Memorial Day. I invited some of the families that we met on the cruise. Some are DISers, some are not. It sounds like we are going to have a full house on May 26th. The more the merrier.

when I meant head, I meant your toilet. What were you thinking? :)

I am going to bring a rug...

...for your porch. :)
