As this is a timeshare resort (I think) have you tried the likes of www.tug2.net forum/users group - perhaps they will have some info on it :confused3

We will be there for the first time July 7th. Have you done a google search on it? I think I found a few reviews that way (mostly tripadvisor I think). Have you also looked at the website www.calypsocay.com?

We have stayed at the Calypso Cay Amerisuites and Country Inns hotel that is adjacent to the time-share area of Calypso Cay. It is a nice area and right by a Walmart (always a plus in my book) Since we only stayed in the hotels, I don't know much about the timeshare area but we were pleased with it. Though I think all areas share the water/pool area so at times can become quite crowded......

depending on what area in Calypso Cay you are going to stay, a few blocks. Not far at all. Not sure I would want to walk to it because of traffic, but right around the corner-ish.......

hi, We've stayed at Calypso Cay twice both in the timeshare units. Once in the main timeshare area and once in the runaway bay area. Runaway bay area is further from the 'action' (pool) but a bit quiter.
Until recently they share the big pool with zero entry and slide with the other 2 hotels there (amerisuites and country inn) along with 2 other smaller pools that were cold. The big pool is heated. The problem has always been that the slide pool is too small for the hotel and condo guests. They are in the process of or already have built a 'owners only' pool area with zero depth entry and slide to solve that problem.
We like the resort and will probably try it again only if we can be assured that the new pool (owners only) is open. When we went both times, the complaint was that the rooms aren't very good for sleeping, as the curtains were somewhat thin and there are lights right outside of the rooms.
The free mini golf is nice.
Walmart is only a 2 minute drive from there, but not really walkable. Very close access at the rear exit of the resort to the highway to WDW - just don't forget exact change (.50 cents?) for the toll onto that - there is no attendant there at the toll gate.
I have some pics at

look at days 4 and for CCAY photos.

I also did a review at
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1115581 - I said I wouldn't stay there again in that message but I will rethink with a owners only pool.
Their web site is www.calypsocay.com

We own a timeshare there, and we love it...They HAVE completed the new timeshare owners' only pool and it looks great...Great location...just minutes from all the restaurants on 192 and only 5 minutes to Downtown Disney...very close to all the action...Highly recommended
