Well, OK, I've decided to give this trip report thing a shot. It's my first one, so go easy on me, kay? :) I'm just so darn excited about our trip and it's still a bit away that I have NO.OTHER.CHOICE than to write about here every day

So, yes, we're planning another trip and getting the inevitable question from friends and family who just don't get "it". It being Disney. "You're going again?". Yup. Uhuh. You bet. Jealous much? Tee-hee!

My husband and I have had numerous trips. Our first (as adults) was way back in 1996, we stayed off-site. Big mistake. Our next trip we stayed at the POFQ (just Port Orleans back then). We then moved on to the CSR for our honeymoon, the CBR our next trip, back to the POFQ the trip after that and finally last year, our first ever deluxe stay at BC.

So this year we're staying in a 1BR at the BCV Oct. 26th-Nov. 3rd.

Le cast:
Moi-DW (will be 32 next week)
DH-33
DS-1 1/2
DFs-27 and 31.

Our DF (dear married friends) are like family to us and have not been to Disney World since they were little. Needless to say I'm way excited they're able to join us and that we can show them around!

My main mission this trip (besides having a great time) is to finally convice my loving, caring, stubborn, block-headed husband that DVC is for us!!! My secret mission if you will.

OK, whew, first post in my pre-trip under my belt! I'll be back with ADRs and other plan-things I have going on!!

Thanks!!

So what do I have done in the way of planning so far? Well, we're going to MNSSHP on Halloween. I'm so excited, it's our very first one. I bought the tickets on May 1st and have had them for a few weeks now! I have absolutely no idea what we're going to dress up as (or if just DS will dress up), but I think I have a little time to figure it out! ;)

And that leads me to our ADRs. Also a first for us. Well, sorta. I made 2 last year. The DH seemed to think that we never needed any, and last year was completely disappointed when we couldn't get in to eat anywhere for dinner on any given night (ahem, I told ya so). So for this trip I didn't even give him a fighting chance. I just asked him the places he wanted to eat at and went to town! So here's our schedule for now!

10/26-Arrival day!
L-CS
D-Cape May Cafe @ 5:30 pm

10/27
L-Sci-Fi @ 12:10 p.m.

10/28
L-Coral Reef @ 12:00 p.m.
D-Rainforest Cafe (DTD) @ 6:00

10/29
B-H&V (Little Einsteins character B-fast) @ 9:10 am
D-Prime Time Cafe @ 6:00 p.m.

10/30
D-Fulton's Crabhouse @ 5:30 p.m.

10/31
D-Liberty Tree Tavern @ 4:15 p.m.

11/1
D-Boma's @ 5:30 p.m.

11/2
B-Chef Mickey's (character) @ 9:00 a.m.

I didn't make any ADRs for our departing day, wanted to just keep that day open. Plus a lot of our breakfasts will just be eaten at the villa in the morning, and some other meals too. I may also add a few more or switch some around (if I can) but I'm so happy, and have this great sense of relief, to have made a whole list of ADRs. We've never been to LTT, Boma's or Chef Mickey's, so I'm excited to eat there!

And that is all I have done for planning so far. Must go, it's Father's Day morning, I hear my munchkin awake in his crib. Gotta go get him!!

Thanks for visiting! I'm hoping I can convince him too! I want to actually try to do the DVC tour while there to get the scoop. Since we have friends coming, I'm hoping they'd be willing to watch DS while we do that. But if, IF, I can get him on board, I think we'd look into a resale of a BCV. We love the EPCOT area, and honestly, I don't see us in DVC anywhere else. But who knows, I'll keep an open mind!

Hi!! Sounds great! Did you rent your points from someone? I had a hard time deciding between BCV and BWV!!

Nope. I did my fair share of looking, but nothing was available to us for when/what/where we wanted, so I just booked through Disney (package). We really, really wanted the BCV, so I wanted to be sure to get a 1BR before they weren't available anymore. We got a great Disney Visa deal last year (in August), so I'm hoping for the same thing this year, but we're still going even if we don't get a break.

We just simply love the short, short walk to EPCOT from BC/BCV. We love the atmosphere, and well, pretty much everything about it!

Last November when we went we had some really cold weather, and because of that (and DS being so young), weren't able to use Stormalong Bay. I was so anxious to spend some time there and we never did get a chance to. So I'm really looking forward to that this time around! It truly sucked to have it so close, but just have it be too cold to use it!!!

More later....

Hi there...
looking forward to seeing some more of your plans, and VERY interested in reading a trip report when you come back.
We have debated staying DVC (I am really looking into buying points on resale) but haven't quite gotten to try it yet.
I also would love to hear about MNSSHP... we also have never been.

Thats why we wanted one of the 2 resorts. So close to Epcot. Our favorite park. I figured the boys would have more fun at Boardwalk with the arcade, Beach club is probably a little too laid back for them. They are kind of wild.

Though I am sure they would have loved Stormalong Bay, but I probably wouldn't have got them out of it!!

To Croc or not to Croc, that is the question

OK, yes, I admit it, I have never, ever, never tried a pair of Crocs. I'm one of those people ;) I've just always thought they are way too ugly and seriously can't be more comfortable than my running shoes to walk around in.

So, gulp, I am giving them a thought now. If people say they are truly THAT comfortable, why not try them right? I'll just bring my good 'ol running shoes in case they don't work out. My question is (for all of you who are reading this and have "croc-ed"), is there one croc that is better than another? I've seen a pair of Pirates of the Caribbean crocs that would be cute for Halloween time, but I dunno. I.need.help!!! Anybody!

************************************************** ********
Is Magical Express really that good??

Yet another question for those reading who may know. We always rent a car, my DH is the most impatient man on the planet (OK, me too). But with the two extra people, we'd have to get a mini-van, and well, that's pretty expensive. So I'm considering adding Magical Express. Is it a pretty quick transfer from the airport to your resort? Are they really that reliable with your luggage?

And I think that's all the questions I have for now, but don't worry, I'm sure I'll have tons more :rotfl:

My mother who has NEVER been to Disney and ahs never seen the DIS boards, SWEARS by Crocs... she actually took hers off on the street to show me how flexible they are...

We used ME on our last trip and thought it was very convenient... we checked in, went to eat at DTD, saw Cirque, and the bags were in our room when we got back (gone about 4 hours or so)
The ME bus took about 40 minutes or so to deliver us to the hotel, I think it depends what stop # your hotel is to figure how long it will take (we were stop # 2)

I have suffered the same croc dilema. But, I finally did it. I bought a pair of pale yellow beach crocs. I want to try them out this summer to actually see if I will like them.

Yes, they are very ugly!! But I am thinking a girls feets gotta do what a girls feets gotta do!

So I think I'm going to do it. Buy some Crocs that is. I figure what the hay, it's my birthday tomorrow, my DH is out of the country on business until Friday, I owe myself something right? Of course if I hate 'em it will be all your guyses (is that even a word????) fault ;) I can't believe I'm going to enter the world of crocs. I'm growing each and every day I tell you :) So, which of these do you all like?

As far as ME is concerned, I think I'll wait till DH gets back and re-discuss it with him before calling Disney to add it for us.

OK, have to get DS some lunch and hit the grocery store, BBL!!

I have never tried Crocs, either. I just broke down and bought a pair of Birkenstocks. We are going the last week of August, so I want something my feet can breathe in. My sneakers just won't cut it. But, now I am thinking of adding a pair of Crocs to my wardrobe. My reasoning after just spending almost $100 on Birks? I don't want those $100 Birks to get ruined if they get wet!! So, I need something that will be comfortable, affordable and will hold up to getting wet.

Personally, I like the pink ones the best of what you posted. But, then, I am a girly girl!! :rotfl:

I look forward to reading more of your report!

Yeah, I'm getting in early! Your ADRs look great! :thumbsup2 We thought about Fulton's, but chose Cap'n Jacks instead.

I am jealous that you are staying at BCV! That will be awesome. Good luck on convincing DH about DVC. I'm already planting seeds, but he isn't catching on...I still have time!

I bought some MaryJane Crocs a few months ago. I LOVE them. They are so comfy! I got them in black, but I wish I would have gotten them in pink. I guess I'll just have to get another pair.

We aren't using ME. DD will be 17 mo. at the time of our visit, so we will need snacks/milk for the room, so we need a grocery stop. Also, when DD is tired, it would be torture waiting on a bus. At least walking to the car will keep her moving and usually that keeps her quiet.:rolleyes1

Can't wait to read about all your planning, esp. since you have a little one. popcorn::

mvazul and DreaGirl, thanks for visiting!!

So my birthday was yesterday (the 20th), and well, it pretty much sucked. My DH has been gone to Mexico all week on business (he gets home tomorrow) and I had to clean the house (inside and out) all by myself for some showings we had/have today. Our house is for sale and hopefully this will be the last time I have to clean like that. One of the two are people coming through for a second visit, which is a good sign!

Anyhoo, in all my feeling-sorry-for-myself-birthday-suckiness, I think I've decided to treat myself to not one pair of Crocs, but TWO!!!!

I like the looks of the Mary Jane style Crocs, so I think I'm going to go ahead and order a pair in the lovely pink, not pink-pink, but fuschia (cause I'm such a girly-girl), and then the cute-for-Disney, Mickey ones I first posted. Whatcha think of that???

Other than that, I haven't had a chance to do too much Disney thinking or planning the past few days because of all the busy-ness, but now I can go back to full force planning.

Speaking of that, does anyone know how to make the summer speed up (never, ever thought I'd say that), so that October can get here quicker?! ;) :) :lmao:

Wow-wee! What an exciting pre-trip report this is, huh?? ;) Truth be told, I've had time for browsing, but not for posting lately. Our house is tentatively sold (contingent on the buyers selling their house), and things have been a tad bit crazy around here because of it!

But anyhoo, I digress. Soooo, what's new, what's new???? I've decided to just buy the Disney Mickey Crocs for right now. Try 'em out, ya know, and if I like them, then get the other Mary Janes.

Besides that, and breathing, sleeping and constantly thinking about our trip in October, I haven't done much else. I AM considering making a few more ADRs....House of Blues, Kona. I'm also considering making a tentative itinerary, which I have NEVER done. We usually just wing it, but with our friends coming, I want to be sure to get in as much magic as possible.

I also think I'm going to do some purchasing of some things we'll need. OK, well maybe not neeeeed, but need!!! A new bag (diaperish) for DS's stuff, some more Disney tanks and shirts (I have one and that is it!!), and maybe an actual autograph book for DS this year. He'll be just shy of 2, and probably won't care about autographs (he didn't last year!), but it might be neat to have it when he grows up. We'll see.

Other than that, if you have any ideas of things for us to do, or buy, or see, or whatever, please shout em out!! I'm always up for new adventures! :goodvibes

Congrats on hitting 3 months! We hit our 2 month (60 day) mark yesterday!!! :woohoo: It's crazy, because it feels like this summer is flying by, yet it's taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R for our trip to get here.

Congrats on the sale of your house, too. I know how stressful that can be. We sold our house in NC last Novemvber after having it on the market for a year.

Don't worry about your report. Mine has stalled a bit, too. I have already posted most of what we have planned and really don't have anything to add right now. I'm sure we'll both pick things up once we get closer. ;)

Thanks mvazul! I'm trying to think of the house as only half-way sold, but it's better than nothing at all!

So I was going through our PhotoPass CD from our Thanksgiving trip and thought I'd share a few of my favorites with ya'll! I love that you can purchase the CD and we plan on doing so again in October. For the $$ I think it's worth it.

Thanks for stopping by! My report has been quite boring, actually non-existent as of lately. I'm hoping to change that now that it's getting closer! Wow, we do have a lot of similarities in our trips! And if you're there on the 24th, you have only 92 days left! Just sayin'. ;)

We've been discussing our dining plans and I think we're going to change a few things. First, we have a 5:30 ADR at Cape May Cafe our first day (the 26th). With this, we'll be doing 4 buffets (H&V (Little Einsteins) & Chef Mickey's b-fasts, and then Boma). We aren't the hugest-est of buffet people so we're going to switch this. Since we're at the BCV we'll probably end up at Epcot that first day and so I'm thinking we should eat somewhere there. We're already doing Coral Reef on a different day so I'm looking at Restaurant Marrakesh. We've never eaten at Le Cellier and part of me wants to go there (with all the wonderful revues of it here), but my DH has no desire. Which is weird since he loves steak and such.

My other thought is to switch our 10/28 dinner reservation for the Rainforest Cafe (DTD) to this night (if we can), or go to House of Blues.

Any help, suggestions, whatever would be appreciated!

Marakesh is really good. Rainforest cafe is ok food wise. It is cool atmosphere but i think it is really overpriced for what it is. We are trying Le Celier this trip as we are doing the dining plan. So far we have 10 reservations booked.
Whispering Canyon
Crystal Palace
Norway Princess Breakfast
Breakfast at the castle
Coral Reef
Concourse Steakhouse
Mama Melrose (only bc of fantasmic dinner package) ugh!
Ohana
Boma
Le Celier

Wow that's a lot of food. 92 days..oh my gosh:cheer2:

My other idea about that first night's dining.

(copied from my post in the Restaurants forum):

We're arriving in WDW on 10/26. We have an ADR in place for CMC for dinner (it's at our resort) that I'm thinking of switching. We've already got 3 other buffets in our ADR plan besides this one, and my hubby isn't real keen on going anyway.

Our friends are coming with us for their 1st trip, so now I'm thinking we'd head over to the MK when we get in (noonish). There's really no place there I'd want an ADR for that we haven't already been to, so I'm thinking of California Grill. My question is this: is it a friendly place for a well-behaved almost 2 year old (our DS)?? I've always wanted to eat here, and our DS is truly is an excellent restaurant kiddo, but I don't want to upset the masses. Help!!!

And if not CG, do you have any other recommendations close to MK for us??

Long time no update!

Well, now that we're just a mere 65 days out, I figured I'd update this poor excuse of a pre-trip report.

First off, the trip is payed off! That's right. It feels official now! Can't wait to get my documents in the mail!

Second, we decided to do Restaurant Marrakesh on our first evening there. It just seemed easier.

We have our plane flights all taken care of. We get into MCO at around 10 am on the 26th, just the way I like it! Gives you almost a whole day at Disney! We leave on Nov. 3rd at around 4:30 ish I think. So not too bad.

We also decided to rent a car after all. Well a Jeep Cherokee or equivalent anyway. It should fit all our stuff and then we'll have a vehicle for the week. I'm happy. I think it's just easier to get around (i.e. Downtown Disney on a whim) with a car.

And I think that's all for now. I think I'm going to start working on a tentative itinerary for the trip, just to have some organization (cause I'm the queen-o-organization!). So, I'll BBL!! :)

YAY I found your pre-TR! I love it so far. Your pre-TR is so great that it's inspired me to go beef up my own! We're eating at a lot of the same places (Cafe Cape May, Liberty Tree Tavern, Boma, 50s PT)! Fun fact #2 -we're about the same age! I turned 32 on June 11.

I can't wait to hear how MNSSHP is on Halloween! Very, very exciting. Can you believe we're two months away from Disney??? I'm dying here!

So how do you like your Crocs? I've had mixed experiences with mine - some rubbed my feet. But I LOVE the Athens. I have two pairs ready to go for my October trip. I'm thinking about buying the Capri before the trip. I've bought about 15 Disney Couture tshirts in preparation. Shopping for the trip is almost half the fun, in my opinion!

Keep up the great updates! Can't wait to read more!

I'm thinking about buying the Capri before the trip. I've bought about 15 Disney Couture tshirts in preparation. Shopping for the trip is almost half the fun, in my opinion!

Keep up the great updates! Can't wait to read more!

Thanks for stopping in! Wow! Yeah, lots of similarities! Although, you ARE the OLDER one! Tee-hee, by 9 whole days ;) Yeah, I think I've become addicted to buying Disney-wear for me! Not my son---me!! Yikes!

Oh geez, I forgot all about the Crocs situation! I actually completely changed my mind on those! I decided that I loved the Athens and went with those! I should take a picture to show you all!

OK, well, the hubby is once again out of country this week, so I should (hopefully this afternoon) have some time to do more updating and planning here!

60 days to go!!

HELP!!

We want to dress up for MNSSHP on Halloween, but we have no idea what to be! I would love to be piratey-themed, but I have the feeling everyone else does too. What would you suggest for costumes for 4 adults (2 girls, 2 guys) and one almost 2 year old boy?? I just can't think of anything cool!

Dorothy
The scarecrow
The tin man
The cowardly lion
and the 2 year old could be the flying monkey (but cuter)

Climbing abroard your Pre-Trippie Train!! Woot, woot.

Good luck on convincing your DH to join DVC. I punched/massaged numbers and made spreadsheets like crazy when I was working on my DH. It finally worked because we joined this year, our official "join" date is actually our anniversary so that is a cool conincidence.

Love the Tink shirts you got! I have to avoid the Disney Shopping site right now or else that Disney Visa might start smoking. :) We are also planning to dress up for MNSSHP but have no clue yet what we will be. Last year there were a ton of pirates and a ton of Disney themed costumes... go figure. ;)

ARGH costumes are a constant problem for me - I can't EVER think of anything good and cheap. Have you checked out the Halloween "Bootique" at www.disneyshopping.com? I'm sure you have. They have some decent stuff but it's all pretty expensive. Target always seems to have a good Halloween section, but I bet the quality of the costumes is questionable.

Sorry I'm not more help. Good luck in your costume quest!

It's been a while since I've posted. I've been around, just been focusing more on my first marathon I'm running in next month. All this running is starting to take it's toll on me :) It's on Oct. 21st and then we leave on the 26th, so I can't think of a better incentive to just get it done with, KWIM?

So anyhoo, I have updating to do, but first I have a 14-15 mile run to get done this morning, so I will be back this afternoon!

JUST 34 DAYS TO GO!! WOO-HOO!

WOW what a huge achievement. That's amazing. I can't even imagine running 5 miles, let alone 15!!! Congrats on your progress thusfar and best of luck on the marathon! You will be zipping to the front of ride lines with no problem!

Can't wait to hear more about your trip plans!!

Thanks! All the training is tiresome, but hopefully worth it. My biggest incentive these days is that just five days after I finish, I'll be at Disney World!!! I can't think of any better incentive than that :)

OK, so in my mind it's 28. We leave so early on the 26th, that you really can't count that day as part of the countdown! No problem with that from me over here, ;) .

So, the vacay is paid in full, ADRs are all made, and tickets for MNSSHP on the 31st are bought and in possession. So now what?? I'm soooooo glad you asked :goodvibes

Did you decide about MNSSHP costumes? All the cool kids are going as pirates! ;)

Maybe we'll end up as BCV neighbors!

The big Halloween costume debate:
I don't know why this has been so difficult for me, ugh. But I finally bought DS's costume today.

We adults decided not to dress up. For several reasons.

1. I don't want to have to pack the extra stuff (lame, I know).
2. Not sure I'm going to want to have to spend the time "getting into costume".
3. Not sure we'd want to spend the entire evening in costume.

Soooooo, just my little guy will be dressing up. We were at the mall this morning and they had costumes on sale at the Disney store, so he's going to be.................................

DONALD DUCK!!!!

It looks so cute on him. He loves walking around and saying "duck" and quacking like one, so it made sense. I'm going to have him try it on again for DH tonight (if he gets home from work early enough), so I'll take a picture to post!

Now, lest you think I'm a Halloween fuddy-duddy, I DO have a Halloween t-shirt to wear AND my light up Devil's ears that I got from Cedar Point years ago, so I'm not totally a fuddy-duddy ;)

Next up: the grand 'ol list of "Things to Do" before we go!!!

AWWWW your little duck sounds so cute!!! I can't wait to see pics!

I don't think you're a Halloween fuddy-duddy. I feel ya! I worry that lugging around a costume will impede my park enjoyment during the day. Yeah, I could get a locker, but that might waste park time. And it's so hard to find good costumes. Disney needs better ones, I think!

Almost time for our trips!

playing with the flippers again.

I'm thinking I'll look for some yellow or white jogging pants to wear underneath, and maybe some shorts too, just in case it's pretty warm out.

That was basically our thinking as well (about costumes). I'd just rather not deal with it.

OMGosh!! That is the cutest thing EVER!! You just have to find Donald. Did he like wearing it? He will have a lot of cushion for sitting on a curb or riding in his stroller, it will be like a built in chair.

Yaaaay for you, 17 days.

Are you excited yet????????
