Grand 1 and confirming your wedding date

There are 2 things Im hoping you can help me with.
Firstly what happens if when the date you need to call exactly one year before to confirm is on a weekend? Do you call on the friday before or wait til the monday after?
And, I really want a wishes cruise to end the night of our wedding. Because of how many guests we have we need to book the grand 1 and another boat. What are my chances of getting both? And does anyone know how booking the grand 1 works? When you call a message says it can only be booked 90 days before. Then it says leave a name and number and they will call back in 72 hours. Do you call 90 days before or a few days before so they call you on the 90th day? As you can probably tell Im a real worrier and I really dont want to miss out.

I'm not sure about your first question. But I would assume that you should call Friday -- if they tell you you have to call back on the Monday then nothing has been lost.

For the Grand 1 -- you do call and leave your name and then they'll call you back. There's a separate phone number for the other boats, so you'll have to reserve them separately. The Grand 1 would be the one that's more difficult to get. You just have to make that phone call as soon as you can and then hope. I know. All the waiting gave me high anxiety.

This sounds really stressful, so if your first choice is the grand 1 and second choice any other pontoon boat how on earth do you know if you need to phone that second number? you could either end up with 2 boats or none at all! Forkeeps, how long did you have to wait for that phonecall back?

It was a bit stressful. Though I had already made my mind up that the pontoon boat would have been just fine if that's all that I could get. I called at 7AM and if I remember correctly I had a call back by noon. I also booked a pontoon boat 90 days out in case I didn't get the Grand 1 and cancelled it when I did.

The Grand 1 was just beautiful though. It was a highlight of the day, especially for the boys ;) THey just loved the boat. DH made me go back to the GF 3 days later to get pictures of it in the light ;)

Yes -- it was exactly 90 days out. Don't worry -- they will call you back. Unlike the Illuminations cruises the Grand 1 doesn't have as many people vying for it, I think you have a good chance. I was afraid of the same thing -- once I saw pics of the pontoon boats though I realized I'd be happy with either

Do Not wait until the 90 day mark to book the Grand 1! On our first trip, I called and left a message at the 90 day mark and was informed that someone else had booked it a couple of days before. It wasn't a big deal for me and I booked for the next night. This time, I had my EP to call and reserve it. You might ask your WP to book it. If she can't, then I would definitely call several days before the 90 day mark and leave your message of the date and time that you want to book.

I did the same thing you want to do for my wishes cruise. I booked the grand 1 and an extra boat on my wedding night without any problems....what i did was called a few days before at the grand floridian and they gave me the number to the marina....i talked to a guy at the marina and told him my situation b/c i wanted to be sure i got a boat and he gave me a number for a direct line that connected me to a person in charge of the grand 1 (not the number to the message machine....i left messages on this as well and never got called back. The day that was 90 days out I called as early as possible and got the grand 1 without any problems and I got the pontoon boats as well.

I also booked an extra pontoon boat incase i did not get the grand 1 and then just cancelled the extra boat when i got the grand 1.....good luck!
