So the rumors have been around for years that Disney may drop the MGM name and possibly add Pixar to it.

I dont think this will happen unless they add some more Pixar stuff to the park. Right now they have.....the Cars parade and meet'n'greet, and the new Toy Story Mania opening next year and??? Oh, a tiny Monster's Inc. photo op area

That isn't what I'd consider a massive amount of Pixar related stuff. It would be more realistic to call it Disney-Lucas Studios but I know that won't happen.

Would they still call it Disney-Pixar Studios even with no further additions?

Disney MGM Park Will Not Change Name
Jun 15, 2007

Central Florida News - There has been a lot of speculation for years that the Disney-MGM Studios theme park could change its name, but Disney says that won't be happening anytime soon.

It was first reported that it would become the Walt Disney Studios park after a naming agreement with MGM expired.

Then, industry analysts thought the name would be shared by MGM and Pixar once Disney acquired the movie studio last year.

Disney confirmed that an area of the park will be named for Pixar once a new Toy Story ride opens, but the MGM name will remain for the entire park.
