There will be no MB when they start selling BCV.
There will incentives with a min 100 pt purchase.
What are the incentives? She wouldn't say.
She said she would not be in the office after they start selling till Feb 13th and that she would call me then.
I told her I would find out here long before then.
Just thought I'd share this info with my neighbors.

I think DVC had a 100 point minimum add-on when they first started selling VWL. If that same rule applies as suggested....bummer, we want to do a cash(less then 50) add-on. I guess there will be no incentives for us to buy early before the rumored price increase, since they won't even sell to us until they allow a less then 50 add-on....spruce

The way I read this is that you just don't get the incentives with the 50 point add on. I think that has always been true. I hope they let me do a 50 point add on. If not, I might waitlist of Boardwalk. (I know VWL is open, but I don't want to addon there!)

She gave me no indication that we couldn't do 50.
Cause I asked about Disney financing, yes to 50 but the incentive is 100 min.
What was the incentive at VWL anyone know?

Sounds like a MB incentive, which we won't use anyway. If they let us buy under 50 before the price increase, we'll do that.
I think that MB was offered when VWL began sales for any contracts of at least 100 points. I don't remember the MB buyback dollar figure....spruce

Buzzandwoody,
That's exactly what my guide told me. She won't be back til middle of February. I wonder if it's the same guide. L.Scolaro?

Now, where do you apply to be a guide? <giggle>
My guide mentioned that he and his wife had to go to Maui to check out one of the resorts for the World passport collection... poor thing. All that horrible travel...

The info on BCV is appreciated, thank you.
Any speculation on what the special offer will be if it is not MB?
Have they done anything else that might give us a clue?

Can I ask folks what the rationale is behind buying only 25 or 50 points as an add-on at a different resort?

Well, in my case I would like a few more points than I currently have and my home resort (OKW) is sold out!

Our home resort (OKW) is sold out, so we are on a waitlist there and looking for a small re-sale..But we wanted to get the 11 month window at VB for the winter time months. Also, it isn't hard to get your preference at the 7 month window for VB either. We would like to add-on another 50 -75 at OKW or VB though......:sunny:

What is the lowest point value that you can buy as an add-on, anywhere? sorry....just found the answer from ChuckS on another thread....it seems to be 25.

I am pretty sure the minimum add-on is 25 pts(cash only), I think you can finance 50 and above. I am sure if these are correct or not somebody else will respond. I just did a cash add-on of 50 pts at VB ($62 pt):D

My rational for buying a small add-on is as follows.
Our OKW contract is exactly enough points for a 1br magic season for 6 nights (164 pts). I became concerned that a DVC point adjustment (this happend once) would change this yearly length of stay. I wanted to add-on but OKW was sold out and I didn't want to wait for the 3 new buildings. So, I added-on at BWV. I bought enough points for a preferred studio during magic season for a Fri and Sat.(64 pts) This gives me some float points should points be adjusted. It also gives me the 11 month booking advantage at two resorts.
Should I buy at BCV, I think I'll buy enough points for 2 week nights in a studio during magic season. (28 pts). Combined with my BWV points, I could have a studio at BWV for Fri and Sat then a studio at BCV for Sun and Mon during magic season (a nice 4 night getaway which could be longer in a different season) I then still have my OKW points to use in a lower point season which still gives the float points I was looking for.
Of course, if I used all my points in Jan, I could have a week in an OKW 1 br and 9 nights in a BWV(7)/BCV(2) studio with 1 weekend offsite or 29 studio nights between the 3 resorts in studios with 4 weekends offsite. That's 37 days in Fla when it's pretty cold here in Pa.
Pretty complicated the way my mind works huh?....spruce

You can tell we are from the same area(Ohio-Pa), that is our intention also when we retire in 5 yrs. But for now we take 2 trips a yr down south and stay in a 1-2 Br.:D

The rationale for buying what seems like not enough points for anything is that it gives you a "Home Base" reservation advantage at a DVC location that you may only visit every couple of years. By banking and borrowing points from your annual alotments, you may be able to pull off a pretty nice vacation every couple of years.......Happy in Hilton Head!

NJDVCmember,
That is exactly our thought process for adding on at VB.We will probably add 50 more there to give us 100 pts at VB, and with banking and borrowing we can have 200 pts to use their every other yr. Also down the road I think it may be hard to book the winter months at VB without the 11 month window.:D

I am SO glad I checked out this thread this morning! We're considering an add-on (already own at OKW--since '93) and have wavered from adding on 50 points to looking at 150 point resales. The resales are less expensive PER POINT but overall more than we had intended to spend right now. With my analytical mind, though, I'm having a tough time deciding--cheaper in the long run but more cash outlay now....back and forth, back and forth! Also, the price increase coming in late spring is haunting me--AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
Anyway, I hadn't even considered the small add-on (50 points) and banking and borrowing scenarios--thanks guys! I like your way of thinking! We love VB but "should we purchase HH--it's closer by 5 hours, etc....." Now I have something new to present to DH!
Finally--we are very curious about the incentives for BCV and would hate to spend all our money on a resale only to wish we could've added at BCV. (Any speculations for incentives?)
