We were in Disney last August and while the temp there was HOT when we arrived - it was HOT in NJ too. Three days into the trip it was scorching mid 90's in NY and it was 70 in Orlando - lasted 3 days, we couldnt even enjoy the pool at night - we were FREEZING - had to soak our tushies in the Hot Tub! My boy who loves cold water even gave up and jumped into the spa to warm up.

I have 4 weather thingys set up on my MSN home page - North Jersey, South Jersey, Orlando and St. Pete.... interesting during the summer months that there really isn't a big gap. Sometimes they are cooler. Also there is only a 1 degree average temp change between August and Sept in Orlando.

It is only the Hurricanes you need to worry about... free dining only means they charge you 100k for the life vest and boats :)

Enjoy!

As a NY'er who can't take the heat I figure the at last day of August will be the same as the rest of September. I think it does start to cool off as hurricaine season brings the cool Alantic breezes. But thank you for posting your experiences.

I made the correction....thanks!;)
As far as a meet....I don't know I haven really thought about it. Do people want a meet? I like knowing who I might be running into(I am on the watch for other dissers if I know someone is at the same hotel)

Do we want to post itineries-parks, and be on the look out for others at a fireworks show or other time? Let me know!

TIme is flying by:)
SO, I am a DVC wanna be:) canwegosoon....why arent ya staying...oh duh, never find..Poly...resort...= free dining!!!
Love the Poly...took my DD10 to the zoo the other day...they have a special attraction..Stingray Bay..and right next to it was this cute little Trade WInds bar/restaurant they set up for the exhibit...
Anyway..I am looking at the menu for adult beverages.....LAVA FLOW!!!

No one else would appreciate this unless they are a Poly Lover!!!
Needless to say I had one...not the same as as the Poly..but a nice little fix:)

canwegosoon
07-14-2007, 01:44 PM
I cant stay DVC for this trip only because I am soooooooo out of points it isn't funny. We are going in March 08 and I need 3 stuidos for Easter week...so I am into points for 09(and I just did an add on too):lmao:

The only bad thing about DVC is you are always staying DVC...and I have never stayed at the Poly...so DH has been having a tough time at work and really needs to take time off, so I scheduled a little break. We got great flights 4 rt ns tickets from NY for 630, already have AP's so I will apply the tickets to a future trip, and the free dining...how could I loose :cloud9: I wanted the YC but at Christmas one of my sons fell in love with the Poly...and we stay at the BC all the time(once a year)

I hope you have a great time at the YC

Totally understand the DVC thing...we are currently looking for a small resale..so that we can add on smaller contracts at other resorts....We just want to find the right one, that has some pts and isnt stripped and has a UY that is condusive to when we vacation....
Love the Poly:)

WOW 3 studios at Easter...goodbye DVC pts...lol...but isnt that great to be able to do that????
Hopefully it wont be TOO hot and crowds wont be to bad...

Then I wish you luck...it will happen, you can usually get a small contract with the right YU, and then once you get your first add-on you can resell your origional purchase. We did 170 pts at SSR and just added 56 at BWV. I am hoping for Contemporary Villias for my final add on.

Heading to the Poly for Labor Day too!! We will be there from 8/30-9/6 and would love to meet up with some fellow DISers. We were there last year at the same time and had a blast. The parks were not very crowded and we just loved staying at the Poly so much that I wouldnt dream of booking anywhere else. Yes, it was hot but we knew it would be and planned accordingly. We hit the parks early and came back to the pool by 2:30 to cool off and relax before heading back out for dinner and more fun.
Our family pic is at the bottom of my post, if you see us at the pool please say HI!!!

We will be at Pop 9/1 to 9/8, Chef Mickey's at 5pm and P/P party on Labor Day!

Other plans, Kona, O'Hana, Sci-Fi, Coral Reef, and Le Cellier (first time eating at LeCellier!) can't wait!

We went last September, just myself and my seven year old son. Things we want to do that we DID NOT last year. Never made it to downtown disney, never went to Tom Sawyer Island, missed Indiana Jones show, one day at MGM was not enough have to go back. My 7 year old did TOT twice by himself and LOVED it. Too short for RNR. Funny other people in line worried about him going alone on TOT but he wasn't worried at all...
He also talks about going on EE a LOT!

So much to do and we did a lot in 5 days, this time we are going 7 days! Can't wait!

Personally(esp. for young children) I love the character meals. Your kids see the characters and are not waiting on lines. Only problem is that it seems that character meals do take a little longer. Tables don't turn over as quickly because of the longer dining. At 1900 I have never been seated anywhere near my ADR time-always at least a 1/2 hour wait. BUT the great thing is that you are going the 2-7...it should not be busy after the 3rd, and I do not think you will have any problems. I love all your choices, and I love that the kids will be picking what they want.

That's good...I am now thinking about everyone doing carry ons...since this is a 4day trip for me. Have to do a test pack this week.

This is very possible. I find it saves space when using the zip bags because you can sit on them and get out all the air or use a hand vac.

HI all We are getting close...LET the PACKING BEGIN ...more importantly in my case have a daily check for the airline tickets, AP's, and ME tickets(mine are currently MIA)....Why do I loose things so much?:confused3

*Don't forget to check your airline ressies if you are flying for any last minute changes.
* Let's keep an eye out for potential weather updates-since this is the key to packing light
* Don't forget the sunscreen...we will need it;)

Check out the August Meet post(page 1) if you want to try to catch another disser...and have a safe trip everyone!!!!:grouphug:

Yes it is me...come by the Poly...I am going to try to wear a Green shirt or it might be my "funky" green white and black shirt...I can't decide. I will have my DIS ID that another Disser made for me-it has my avatar and my siggy so I am sure you will reconize it. I am 5'10", red brown hair/ size 18-20 with the twin boys who will probably(but can't gaurentee) will be dressed alike, DH will be doing his usual thing. I think the bridge infront of CP is a good spot and we can spread across to the photo spot there too.

I am getting excited too...I picked up the luggage from storage today and Mon will be my test pack. I still want to get to the dollar store for ponchos and umbrellas, and some little goddies for the parks and the flight. I need camera batteries, and I have my banking all done, so I think I am close. I am praying that the parks are not too crowded...I am thinking a lot of people have school so we might be ok. I am staying for the EMH at MK :cool1: .
Just checked the 10 day weather report and it looks good-just the usual scattered thunderstorms-but no serious rain.:woohoo:

Everyone don't forget to-

-submit your yellow cards at the post office to hold the mail
-schedule the pets at the vet
-pick up sunscreen if you are out
-go the the hairdresser/mani/pedi
-get singles/fives from the bank for tips
-print you mousekeeping envelopes
-have your clear quart bag ready and go through your purse a few times for any liquid items
-make sure you have all medicines(tough to get refills)
-tell a neighbor/friend you will be gone
-pick up ponchos/umbrellas from dollar store(really cheap insurance)
-gum for the kids
-pack every piece of green clothing you own
-have you LGHM or DIS ID ready for display
-go get a drink -you're gonna need it!!!
-Get ready to PARTY:woohoo:

:dance3: :cheer2: :jumping1: party: :rockband:

We will be there on Saturday. We are staying at CSR on the 1st. Then checking into the Poly on the 2-7. I am so excited about this trip. My father is coming with us. He has not been to Disney since 1976. He doesn't deal well with crowds but he wants to see his grandchildren at "the happiest place on earth!" Let's pray for good weather.
