We are considering spending a few days at Vero next spring after our Disney cruise so I am trying to figure how many hours of driving will be involved getting from MCO to the port then to Vero and back to airport. I think I read that from Vero to MCO it is about 2 hours driving time if you don't encounter traffic. Just wanting to make sure MCO is the closest airport.

I believe the closest airport is Melbourne International ( about 30 minutes away ). We fly from Boston and go into MCO because it would take us longer not to. We would have to change planes somewhere , depending on airlines probably MCO or Atlanta . Its about 1 hour and 30-45 minutes from MCO to Vero.

I think PBI may also be a stitch closer to Vero, but when you factor in Port Canaveral I would go with MCO.
Also, as Boston alluded to, non-stops to Melbourne are unlikely. I would think they may also be more expensive. :smokin:

Thanks for the quick responses. We fly direct from New Orleans to Orlando so I think that will be our best bet rather than have to stop somewhere to get into Melbourne or other airports.

I've got clients that I visit in Vero Beach. In no traffic, it's about the same 2ish hour drive from orlando (MCO) or Palm Beach (PBI), so I'll fly into or out of each one based on what other meetings I have in either area. Traffic during rush hour will be more brutal in the Palm Beach area on 95 than on the toll road to/from Orlando. Melbourne is closer, but I don't think as many long distance direct flights fly into there.

Sorry to hijack here but does anyone have any estimates on travel time from Vero to Sanford?
