Minnie gone? What's next??

We were planning our trip for next May and now with the Minnie gone, what is the plan for an event in May?? Anyone hear anything new?? We need to book our DVC room and don't have a clue what weekend to go! If there is a run, will it still be with the American Heart Assoc.?? I loved the go red for women thing!

I have heard from our friend Carrie that there will be a new "Princess" 1/2 Marathon to replace the Minnie. The Inline Skate weekend has moved from April to the Minnie's old weekend(May3-4). If they put the new race in May, I am sure it will have the Go Red the day before. May also has the Muddy Buddy and Danskin Tri so I would guess the new 1/2 might be put back into April. Maybe even the old Inline date???:confused3

Here was a response from a Disney(yes Disney) employee on 5/14: "There have been no official decisions on the Minnie Marathon at this point, please continue to check www.disneysports.com as we should have information up about next year's events in the near future."

This and $5 will get you a latte at Starbucks;)

Robert, who would we need to approach to get a WISH day at the WDW parks, wouldn't cost them a thing. A WISH Shirt would work as an automatic Fast Pass for one day, like the monday after the ToT and the Monday after the Marathon.

Hey never hurts to ask, and they might say yes. Not like we are asking them to host a beer drinking contest at the Brewery or anything.

problem is that those of us who want to book our DVC room for whatever time this will be have to wait.....that stinks....
Might just have to plan a trip without running....

I am in the same boat with DVC. I mentioned that to the Disney employee that I needed to book in my 11 mo window. Didn't get any more info out of him:confused3

That is too bad that they are not having any info. Even that they will not have an event would at least be something.
