My husband needs prayers-Update post 66

Well, what was supposed to be a simple test at the hospital has turned into my dh needing to have open heart surgery. My dh will have the surgery tomorrow morning. I have to be back at the hospital at 5:30 am. I can't sleep, but I know I should go to bed soon.

Those of you who pray, please add my dh to your prayers tonight.

Hey disers this is Fly's DD Shell...

I just wanted to let you know that the surgery was bright and early this morning, and he ended up having a double bypass sugery and it went very well.

Fly is still at the hospital, and I came home for a bit to get some food into my stomach.

Thanks for the tremendous support everyone has given us. It's been a rough two days, and hopefully now that I'm home for the week from college, I can help out a little!

I will try to keep this updated as much as possible, or fly will at least okay?

Storm is doing well but is not a patient patient. It sounds like he is trying to pull off an escape that Houdini would be proud of. When she called, they had finally gotten him to go to sleep for a while. Sounds like he's a fighter! Keep your spirits up Storm but listen to the medical staff!

Fly is exhausted but sounded so much better today! Yesterday she just sounded so overwhelmed. She will be spending most of the next few days at Storm's side as much as possible. I'll try to post updates if she doesn't have time.

Fly :hippie: , Storm, Shell and April, you are all in my thoughts constantly. I hope Storm has a complication free and speedy recovery!

My dearest Twisted Sister just called. Things are going much better today, seems like yesterday's antics were due to the anesthesia.

Storm has been up and walking, he walked from the ICU to his new room! He's also eating. Both are great signs that he is healing as he should. Keep up the good work Storm! Thank you for settling down and following instructions! :thumbsup2

Fly :hippie: is still very very tired but is doing quite well. Actually, I think she's doing amazingly well! I can only hope I have half of her strength if I ever have to go through something similar. Fly :hippie: , you are a super woman and I can't come up with the words to tell you how much I admire you for that! You go girl!

Fly :hippie: and her family thank you again for all of your support! The prayers, pixie dust, wishes and thoughts are a great help! I have relayed as many personal messages as I can remember but please continue to post here.

I just wanted to say thank you all for being so supportive. :grouphug:

What a difference a day makes. He is much better today. When he called me at 8:00 this morning to tell me he walked to his new room from the recovery room, and where was I, all I could think was, "thank god he is making sense when he talks now." I felt guilty for being at home asleep when he called, but I was so tired. Hopefully he will be able to come home on Monday.

Our cousin has a big comy recliner that he stayed in after his heart surgery. He took it to our uncle's house when he had his heart surgery. They are bringing the chair to our house tomorrow. We were joking around in the waiting room saying this is like when the kids were little and we passed around the baby crib, except now it is the "heart surgery recovery chair" that is being passed around. I sure hope nobody else needs to use it!

Fly I love your comfy chair analogy! And yes, lets hope it doesn't need to be passed on anytime soon. My mom made no sense for a few days after her heart surgery either. Drugs are wonderful but definitely can alter one's mind.

I prayed for Storm as soon as I found out the bad news the othe night. Will pray for a smooth recovery and praise that the surgery went well!!

Hey Fly! Glad to hear the good news. Big hugs to you all, but not so big you bust his stitches! or is it staples these days? Anyway, post-anesthesia can be a challenge. The things I've been told I've said while coming out would make a sailor blush! I hope he has a happy medicine button he can push for his meds. Those are WONDERFUL!

I'm happy to hear that all went well. Medicine can be a tricky thing. Hopefully, he won't have any adverse reactions to after procedure meds like my mom did. She went through a triple bypass and the meds she was on afterwards made her really sick. Let just say she lost a lot of weight (which she needed to anyways).

Well I have been cleaning the house this morning to be ready for when he gets home. I just received a call from my daughter that they are releasing him now, and she will bring him home. The nurses all say he is their new poster boy for such a speedy recovery. Taking a quick break to update this post.

I have the living room all ready, and the chair was delivered about an hour ago. Our cousins were going to bring it by yesterday, but their daughter was in the same hospital having a baby. So now there is a new baby boy in the family. Our cousins had just got home from visiting us at the hospital when they got the call to go back for their daughter.

Ok got a million more things to do, I will be back on later after he gets settled in. Oh I have to go to the grocery store because his diet has just completely changed!
