So, several months ago, I had created a thread discussing a job with the Disney Store (not affiliated with Disney ;) ). Well, months later, they never got back to me. Not a peep!

I took this as a sign that things had turned up sour and they didn't like my lack of retail experience.

Well, two weeks ago, I filled out two more applications: one to Best Buy and one to Jamba Juice. Ok, perhaps I should get into the habit of following up submitting applications as they chose not to get back to me as well.

I would have, except another job came my way.

Currently, I'm working 8 hrs/day, 3 days/wk at NASA in their Astrobionics department.

Seeing as I'm a Biology Major... this sure looks better on my resume than Disney Store (not affiliated with Disney).

In case you folks were wondering, that's what happened to that story.

Nice, very nice pirate! That job sounds a lot more impressive than working at Jamba Juice. (no offense to those working at Jamba Juice) Congrats! i have been to NASA on a field trip with my daughters class about 9 years ago and it is an awesome place. very cool.:thumbsup2

TDS can be very difficult to get into, particularly if you're in an area where there is only one store. The only time our store ever hires is during the holiday season and maybe a couple of those seasonal CMs will be taken on as a regular. Same was with the TDS I had transferred from in Chicago.

That said, it's awesome you found a job that caters more to your major. While I really enjoy it at TDS, my passion is wildlife (and animals in general) so I took on a second job at our local Humane Society to cater to my major as well. It's very fulfilling to have something you know will help you in the long run. :)

Ah the joys of working somewhere that will further your goals in life! What a great thing! Congrats, Pirate!

I myself retain a job that will be beyond amazing on my resume. Although, I don't call it luck... I call it God. ;)

Congratulations! I am sure you'll learn lots. I have a few friends that work with NASA, in various parts of the country. Hope you make lots of friends, get lots of pointers, and learn to drink coffee very black.

congratulations pirate!!

I'm sure NASA is a much better job than being a store clerk at the Disney Store. (although, that employee's discount probably would have been nice! ;))
