So the band announces that its the last dance... WHAT:scared1: didnt we just cut the cake????? Where did the time go?????

I coluldnt believe it was over... The band played "Last Dance"

After the slow part of the song when it starts the upbeat thats when the confetti canon popped and everyone roared

Honeymoon Day 1 October 5, 2008

So after a crazy full night, we woke up the next morning at 9am we needed to be on the road by 11am the latest to head down to Miami to embark on Royal Caribbean.

Geancarlo's mom called us to make sure we were awake, we had his parents meet us for breakfast along with my mom so they can help us get all our stuff out of the room...

Disney hooked us up with an amazing suite that gave us the view of the WP
We went to concierge for breakfast

I said good bye to my parents sister and family while Geancarlo's parents pulled the car up to pack our luggage, they checked out that day so they took us to Miami

We did the Freedom of the Seas it took us to PR, St Thomas, and St. Marteen... We had soooo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was now time to explore the boat, so we headed to the top deck to get a drink.. Although I was feeling a little dizzy I dont know why I drank

We went and explored everything we had our dinner reservations in the main dining room at 8:00pm so we headed back to the room to get ready. We sat with a very nice couple that also got married on October 4

We woke up Monday, October 6 pretty late.. We got up and started our day with breakfast downstairs and headed directly to the pool..

Thats all I wanted to do was just read and lay out:beach:
Geancarlo wanted to do the FLow rider which is the surfing he didnt last 3 seconds, but he was determined to keep trying

After dinner RC was hosting an event for Honeymooners at this lounge, they were playing music and had a cake so we went with the couple we sat with at dinner

So I'm sitting here and thinking...I remember when she started this report. It seems like yesterday. I remember thinking that this was going to be one of the most beautiful weddings I had ever seen on the boards and I have to say now that I was right. After walking all day we went into a beautiful Antique shoppe and I bought some old glass bottles to collect beach sand, I do this in any destination I go to

We were getting hungry so all I wanted to eat was Alcapurria- My grandmother makes them AWESOME and I had to try one from the hometown

An alcapurria is a dish from Puerto Rico made from a mixture of mainly yautía and may contain ground squash, plantains, green banana and other starchy tropical tubers filled with ground beef or crab meat and deep fried in oil. Yuca "alcapurrias" are usually stuffed with crab, shrimp or lobster meat. Many Puerto Ricans enjoy this dish and are often found eating it at the beach with friends. "Alcapurrias" are also one of the many dishes served on the kiosk stands


Again I called my mom and told her what I was eating... so good

We shopped around some more and we asked the locals where we can get real authentic PR food, I felt like I was Rachel Ray on "$40 a day"

They told us a restaurant called Raices (pronounced Rye-Eee- Ces)
GREAT restaurant!!!!! We are actually going back to PR in September with my sister and her BF Scott and we want to take them there,,,

You can't walk into a self-respecting Puerto Rican restaurant and not see mofongo on the menu. It's a must-try for first-time visitors who want to claim to have sampled the local fare. Essentially, mofongo is a mashed mound of plantains into which a combination of seafood, meat, or vegetables is added. It can be served as a side dish or a main course accompanied typically by beans and rice.

We headed back to the ship so we can lay out again on the top deck

we got back in our room and we had about 4 hours until dinner
so we ended up napping since the sun really got us tired

We ended up taking a taxi cab to a beach

after relazing by the beach I got completely dehydrated, I was exzposed to the sun and drinking frozen margaritas, I got up ready to leave and I thought I was going to faint plus bring my lunch back up, Geancarlo had to get me iced water and pour it on the back of my neck and had me drink it... I felt so much better after... phewwww I didnt want to be sick the reast of the day

After laying out all day, our taxi driver was ready for us to take us back to the port, He was a really nice guy who gave us alot of information about the island, he dropped us right off at the port and Geancarlo stopped to get a coconut smoothie, I was still feeling a little woozy so I told Geancarlo that I wanted to get back to our room shower and relax, which I did and I passed out for hours, until Geancarlo woke me to start getting ready for dinner..

the beds are so comfy and I had the room really cold..

It was beautifully decorated and the desserts were even better, we hung out till late on the deck drinking and laughing then headed back to our room for the next day at SEA

DAY 6 DAY AT SEA


Alot of people dont like Day at Sea but I love it, it gives me a chance to lay out by the pool nap in my room, explore the ship more

we discovered the best lunch on the ship which was a salad bar... the best salads EVER, I got mine with shrimp, mozzarella, cranberries... so good
next time, we told our selves thats where we are going to have lunch

DAy 7 Day at Sea


Today was our last full day on the ship:sad2:I was ready to book my next cruise

Not that many pics today b/c my camera died so I saved the pics for the night...

we had to have our bags packed by 6pm and out the door so they can take them and get them ready for departure

Day 8 Departure

it was an AMAZING trip.. All vacations must come to an end:sad1: but there is always time to start planning a new vacation!!!!!!!!!!!

So the entire family wanted to come and pick us up but they decided that we would see them when we get home, so Geancarlo's mom, brother, and sister picked us up and brought us to our house

Oh Christina I can't believe it's over. Your reception looked absolutely gorgeous. Loved that Mickey and Minnie were there. Cute you had a cake for your cousin's birthday too, that was very nice of you. San Juan's buildings are so pretty love the colors. The water at all the beaches. Okay I know this trip report is over, but I just found it through reading your sister's report, and all I can say is WOW!!!! It took me a long time to read the whole thing, but it was beautiful! I LOVE- your doggie, your engagement story, your invitations, your flowers, your bridal shower...everything!!! I am so glad that I found this and I wish I could have followed along the whole time. You had a truly beautiful dream wedding. I laughed my head off at the photo of your dad seeing the food price, and I got all teary eyed when I saw the photo of Geancarlo seeing you for the first time walking down the isle. So sweet!

Congratulations and I can tell that you two will definitely live happily ever after!!! Okay, so now when is Lex's wedding? ;) just teasing...but when that happens I definitely want to see another trip report.

Found you from reading your sister's report! I love that your family is so close, makes me wish I had a sister! Being an only child is fun , but sometimes you miss the companionship esp as you get older.

I have been married 13 yrs and this brought it all back to me. Thank you for posting all your sweet memories. It was wonderful to have a glimpse into your life.

Oh Christina I can't believe it's over. Your reception looked absolutely gorgeous. Loved that Mickey and Minnie were there. Cute you had a cake for your cousin's birthday too, that was very nice of you. San Juan's buildings are so pretty love the colors. The water at all the beaches. My Disney trip is going to be a cruise, definately.

So this is a long and over due post. Things are just so busy with me, work and a new house that I forgot to post my wedding cake after a year being married 10.4.08

Well for our 1 year anniversary we celebrated it on Royal Caribbean cruise, we went to Puerto Rico, St. Marteen, and Labadee Haiti. So much fun and very relaxing.
We went on the cruise a week before our anniversary because my nieces 15’s was the day before the anniversary and we couldn’t miss her party. So on our anniversary the Miami Dolphins were playing and we are BIG Dolphin fans, so we watched the game and hung out. and then we cut the cake with my parents and sister. IT was so delicious. I was thinking, ‘OMG I am eating 1 year old cake’ LOL but it was amazing. The top cake was yellow with amaretto filling.

DH and I are planning our second anniversary trip, but this time I want to go to Disney and have them replicate the top tier of the cake
