I just realized that I was originally scheduled for my planning session today 4/25, but we searched and searched for rooms on ground and couldnt find anything. so we are now scheduled for 5/9/08

Its someone Disney recommended to me and I fell in love with the way they played music

They are playing everything from disco, big band and swing, some today style music and then back track music while they break will be spanish music

First of all I can't believe that a place wouldn't scan over something before they ship it or check the invoice on what color shoes were ordered. I always scan over clothes in the store when I buy them just to make sure everything is ok. At least they're sending you new ones.

Hi girls

So as I start my TR- I have to say that I had a great time this past weekend, I have been looking forward to my PS for so long and I cant believe its over and now I can look forward to the BIG DAY.....

So here we go

The day we leave
Thursday, May 8 2008- That morning I woke up at 6:30am to get ready for work, I had to go to work because we had a huge event that night at my bosses apt in Miami, we were showcasing our work and it was hosted by MAP Magazine.... I left home at around 7:30am to be at work by 8:30am.... It took me forver to get my luggage in my trunk plus bad idea I was wearing heels, so my feet were killing me by the time I got in the car... as I am driving to work Geancarlo calls me to see how I am doing... and if I am excited that we were leaving to Disney tonight... OF COURSE I am excited I am going to plan my wedding......:cool1:

Busy :surfweb: at work getting all things done before I leave (and also checking the boards....) and wont be back in the office until Monday 5/12... I left work at around 4:30pm to head over to Geancarlo's house to get ready for the event....

I got to Geancarlo's house by 5:30pm... Its a long drive to his house from work... So once I get there I run upstairs to shower and get ready for the event... We were running around like crazy people getting the car ready for the trip b/c once the we leave the event we were on our way to DISNEY:cool1:

First let me show you how my family packs...
This is a day before we leave and I am getting all the bags ready and of course my bichon frise jumps in to join the fun...

If you are wondering about our jewelry, my bosses father is a jewelry designer so we all modeled his jewelry for the night... I DID NOT want to take it off... I was so in love with it

So we are having a good time chatting, eating, and drinking..... By the time I knew it, it was 9pm... Holy CRAP we have to get going...:scared1:
So I said my good byes and made our way out and into the car..

I brought a change of clothes with me and I changed in the car, Geancarlo changed downstairs in the lobby, there was no way we were going to drive up to Orlando and me wearing a dress and heels and Geancarlo in dress pants and a collared shirt....

So after we changed and got comfortable in the car and all situated
it was 9:39pm when we left Miami...from Miami its a good 3.5 hours

The drive was DREADFUL, my eyelids were SO DARN HEAVY that I was trying to stay awake... So we blasted Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, and ANYTHING that was loud for me to stay awake... So now after Geancarlo said NO PICS..lol.. I decided well let me stop b/c this weekend I will go HOG HEAVEN with taking pics...lol.. I will give him a little break... so now its 1:30am and we get to the room.. The only thing I do is take the chairs and put them against the window and they push the draperies to the wall b/c if not the sun comes through strong on the sides and I hate sun in the mornings.... My sister Alexis has the room all set for us to get to bed.... How nice is my MOH... so I shower and get into bed...AGHHHHH :cloud9: I am in cloud 9... Its not my bed at home but it felt so good to be refreshed and in a bed.... Well as I was falling asleep, Geancarlo and Alexis decide that its time to chat... Oh yeah they CHATTED until 2:15am.... WHAT:scared1: GET TO BED.. I have too much going on tomorrow morning.... I kept saying "Please I have to much going on tomorrow just SHUT UP"... well they took that and decided YEP lets chat more... GEEZ...cant anyone listen to the bride to be....lol... I thought I was going to be too excited to sleep but I passed out right away....

So now day one is over

Oh and I also got my BEO I am still waiting for my Floral BEO and I thought that my BEO would have been worse, I was very surprised how well priced it was...lol.. so now we wait for the Floral (HURRY ROSE HURRY)

I love all the pictures from the ride up. I can't wait to see all the ones from the actual planning session. Kris is used to all the pictures (or rather I think he's given up on the subject), he'll just look at me and say "it's for the scrapbook right?" :) We stayed at POP for our first planning session last year too. The theming is great, but you're right it is so far back to some of the rooms.

Ok Im back...
Now its DAY 2.. 5/9

Its 6:45am and my sister decides to get up at that TIME to go walk Dixie being that she was staying in the kennel.. Now if you know my sister she is NEVER quiet in the morning... Mon-Fri I wake up at 7am to go to work I snooze my alarm for 30 minutes so I make sure to close her door so I dont wake her... Does she do that for me of course not.. so 5/9 she is blowing her nose, sneezing the bathroom light is on...

I soo wanted to throw a pillow at her so she can pass out and not get up until I got up...lol... I kept saying "Alexis PLEASE hurry up and get going"

but before she leaves she comes and says to me "today is your planning session, arent you excited".. and I thought I wouldnt be able to sleep but I was able to... So I just said " yes now leave"

She doesnt leave until about 7:15am... AGHHHH by that time when she left I was sound asleep until 8:15am:scared1: :scared1:

I ONLY HAVE 30 minutes to get ready,well believe me I made it, but mom decides to take her time... It was now 8:50am and my mom was still doing her makeup... I am like "MOM we need to be out of here 5 minutes ago and NOW you are doing your makeup, come on, I dont want to be late.""

Oh I was so furious, so I called Michelle and someone in her office was going to relay the message that I was running 10 minutes late... YEA RIGHT

So now its 9am and mom is done with her makeup... COME ON.. we walk to the car and I am racing and everyone else decides to take there time..

We made it through the Magic Kingdom gates, and dad is driving SLOW.. UGHHHH I am getting annoyed... So we finally make the right at the light to head pass the poly and too the WP, well we get stuck behind a working truck going... GUESS WHAT 15 miles an hour... ARE YOU SERIOUS.. I HAVE A WEDDING TO PLAN GET MOVING.... DONT MESS WITH THE DISNEY BRIDE TO BE:headache:

we made it to Francks (Drumroll please) at dah da da dahhhhhhh 9:30.. yes a half an hour late.. I hate being late ESP. to something like this... I leave everyone behind and haul butt into Francks.. I walk in and see Caitlin and I was told her that I was to meet Michelle W. for my PS.. She told me that Michelle will be with me in a moment and to look around. I said ok thank you but can I trouble you for coffee.. I NEED my morning cup of Java:surfweb: ...

Oh before I continue.. as I was walking to Francks I literally couldnt believe that I was going to plan my wedding.... I kept saying to Geancarlo... "I cant believe this we are planning our wedding"

So as I walk around, we waited for about 5 minutes, my parents couldnt believe how beautiful it was inside... I have to tell you all that it was very emotional for me to be at Francks. I held back tears and kept my composure.. I have envisioned my Disney wedding since I was in 5th grade and to be standing in Francks was very surreal. I cant put into words how happy I was, this was my dream. This was the wish I wished for every time I saw a shooting star or threw a penny into the wishing well, it sounds cheesy but its so true... I truly savored every minute of the PS, I didnt want it to end.. I was planning my fairytale dream wedding.. This is the year of a million dreams and one of those dreams is mine....

Michelle comes and introduces herself to me, Geancarlo, and my parents and walks us to the planning room... At this point I forgot about the camera and was so focused onto the wedding... We sit down and she explains how today will run and how the wedding day will run, I look up and dad was holding back his tears and that made me want to cry.... IF we were emotional during the PS I cant even imagine the wedding day... We were choosing everything, wedding favors, flowers, place settings, you name it.. and I never heard the word NO from dad, he kept saying 'Ok add it, add it, great we will take that"

Im thinking GREAT the BEO will be ridiculous and the budget we have the BEO was very reasonably priced, mom and dad were shocked...

After we finished choosing the favors, Rose walks us back into the PS room and my mom writes a note to me in my Sometimes Brides Forget notebook that My grandparents are here spiritually watching down from Heaven, well I got a little tear in my eye...

unfortunately my dad's parents will not be with us physically on th wedding day, but I know they are going to be there.. My grandmother prayed that her only boy (my dad) would have girls... and yes her prayer came true, she passed away when I was 1 so I never got to really know her. When my grandpa passed away in 2001 we were cleaning out his room and I found my grandmothers charm that has her name on it... I knew that that was going to be my something old... it will be tucked in my dress on the left side closest to my heart... We are having a memorial candle and I told Rose that it was very important to me that since they are not here and 3 of Geancarlo's grandparents wont be with us, we would like to put a white rose on the pew to signify that THAT IS THEIR SPOT FOR THE WEDDING.... I think that will be very nice....

Ok well unfortunately when I uploaded the pics on monday they got deleted from photobucket ( I dont know how):confused3 so I am going to wait for them to load and I will be back with the rest of the pics from the PS...

AS we walk over the bridge I am getting so excited, i drift off into a day dream of me walking over this bridge with my dad helping me with my gown and getting all excited to see my future Husband to be... then I woke to my mom saying "OH this is GORGEOUS, I love it here, the family is going to go crazy taking pics."

My mom and dad couldnt believe how GORGEOUS it was inside, there was a lady vacuuming b/c there was a wedding that day at around 5pm, so the lady was from PR so of course since my mom is from PR she starts talking to the lady and she tells her that Geancarlo and I are getting married here in October... Puerto Rican people are so friendly and my mom is definitely friendly she talks to anyone and everyone... The lady congratulated us and wished us the best...

My parents were floored by the picturesque window of cinderella's castle.. My mom didnt want to leave and just sit there.. and my dad was complaning b/c he was hungry... so my mom had to make a quick stop into the brides vestibule to see where I will be in hiding...LOL

after 15 minutes of looking and rushing from my dads part we decided to eat something b.c. we couldnt wait another 2 hours... So we head over to the GF and what do we see when we enter

OUR NAMES were on the daily events board

I was sooo excited, I couldnt even contain myself... I was thinking "oh look were famous"

So now we walk to Gasparilla's Grill - A favorite Counter service restaurant of mine, and we are all deciding on what to eat

It is overwhelming when you first go into Franck's and so surreal to finally be there, so I can completely relate. We did a lot of things to incorporate our grandparents and Kris' dad into the ceremony too. We had flowers on seats in the front row where they would have sat and a picture of Kris' dad with his flower. We also put a note in the program and the minister said a few word about them. I wore my grandmother's wedding band and I had small charms with their pictures on them put on the bottom of my bouquet. It was so nice to have them included on that special day.

Ok back to day 2.

So after we eat at Gasparilla's we head another hour left. So we decided to head over to the lobby and just hang out... So we stopped at Sandy Cove to do a little browsing. Well dad wanted to but the lithograph of the wedding pavilion for me and for some reason I said 'no'---- Why did I say that.. I really want it now.. Oh well I can get it next time. So after browsing the Sandy Cafe we sat on the sofa's to relax, my dad says to us

" I cant believe people will actually sleep on these sofas, I cant do that"

Well after about 10 minutes, he was starting to feel sleepy. So Geancarlo says " So Angel (thats my dads name and he truly is an angel, if I have a baby girl her name will be Isabella Angel <------after my dad) Ok side tracked.... anyways so Geancarlo says " Angel you look like your going to pass out here..." At this time I was texting Laura (DisneyPrincessBelle) to tell her that I will only be at the GF for just another half hour and that maybe we can meet tonight, but she had the Pirate and Princess Party... So after texting back and forth I decided to get up and walk around b/c I as getting sleepy, so mom and I went to shop at the little boutique by the Grand staircase... my mom fell in love:love: with a summer dress she tried on and I fell in love with a tropical style dress that I wanted for my rehearsal breakfast, yea it was $195.00 um no thank you... So now it was 2:15pm and I tell my mom that we need to get going, we were late this morning and I didnt tend to be late again...

So we gather my dad and geancarlo who were talking outside... And we walked out of GF, my mom hates to leave GF she gets all nostalgic telling my dad 'I want to go back'

As we were heading over to the GF Convention center I was thinking

So now we meet Michelle and she gives us the tour of where the cocktail hour should be and reception, I was in AWE at how beautiful the room was, we will be having the cocktail hour inside and out. 2 open bars, 1 inside and one outside.... String Trio to play outside on the veranda....

So we head over to the St. Augustine Hall Room where our reception will be

So now after we discussed how the room will be set up, Michelle takes us to the kitchen, we couldnt take pics of the kitchen but we could take pics of the food

So now we sit and Chef Corey and Chef Peter were with us explaining us the food

The table was set with a beautiful flower arrangement and candles... nice and romantic..lol

For cocktail hour we are having the premium cheese display with baguettes
and I am SO SORRY I was excited to eat the food that I FORGOT TO take apic of the cocktail hour appetizers...:sad2:
But I got a pic of the meatball stuffed with bleu cheese wrapped in bacon with a sweet sauce, we are also doing seafood fritters with a sauce and pot stickers.. EVERYTHING WAS SOOOOO GOOD

I love that boutique at the GF! Lily Pulitzer is amazing! That's where I got my dress for the RD! Anyways, I think we are pretty much having the same reception! My pre-reception is going to be in the whitehall room/patio, and my reception is in St. Augustine C-D! Which rooms are you having yours?

I think it's great that your Dad went w/ you for your PS. My Dad wanted and still wants to go w/ us for ours but my Mom would rather have my Aunts there for creative planning purposes. I feel so bad, but in all honesty my Dad really wants to go so that he could go into the parks and we wouldn't have time for that.

Did you figure out what you are doing about a Catholic ceremony? (I thought you were on another post discussing that) I'm asking b/c I'm Episcopalian and having issues finding a priest.

We said our goodbyes:sad1: to Michelle and she told me that I should receive my BEO during the week and if I had any questions to give her a call...We headed out of the Convention center and set forth to get the car from valet... We were walking out so overly stuffed...lol.. all we wanted to do was nap in the room, but I wanted to get to the parks...:cool1:

Alexis called to see if we were done and she told us that she is at the Boardwalk pool... So we were going to go back to POP and change into our PARK GEAR...lol...


Geancarlo and my dad were in the front seat of the car and me and mom were in the back seat.. I layed on my mom while she rubbed my head and my arm.. a mothers touch is so special... I literally fell asleep for a good 5 minutes until we get to POP and dad was having problems getting the card to accept our entrance into POP, so the security guard had to help him....lol....

We walked past the pool to get to our room and I wanted to jump in the pool but sometimes and i hate to say this, but I hate getting in a pool with a bunch of kids...I know I know I am in Disney world, but these parents let them do a canon ball and kick and splash while I am enjoying my drink at the edge of the pool and I get chlorine water in my drink:mad:

So this boat was PACKED.... so Geancarlo and I sat on different benches but right next to each other,,, So I decided to add on some Bronzer and lip gloss... Well I got the bronzer on and now I put my lipgloss on and I couldnt get the top to open, I was trying so hard that I lost control and the lip gloss flipped up in the air and under the bench infront of me.... AGHHH no my favorite lipgloss... talk about a show to everyone on the boat... I looked over at Geancarlo like this:( :worried:
I was so sad... He then tells me that when the boat stops he will get it for me...

So I dying to to get to the stop so he can get my favorite lipgloss that one is my favorite and two is discontinued:(

So now we get to the stop and Geancarlo comes over and SAVES THE DAY:cool1: :worship: thanks babe... your awesome

FINDING NEMO... I have yet been on that ride. So we walk over to the Living Seas.. I was so excited to be in Disney as I always am... and I wanted to do everything at once...lol

I love being there during the flower garden festival. they do such amazing things with plants...

I had to stop in England I LOVE LOVE going in their teashop... I love this tea set, so we decided that we are going to start collecting them
Its expensive, so our next trip this will be our first item that we will collect

I got someehat nervous, being that I was under a tank of Tons and tons of gallons of water and I was just thinking gosh if this glass cracks :worried:
I was freaking out, I couldnt stay long looking at the fish.. Geancarlo knows my fear of water.. I dont do Ocean water... leave me at the pool and I am happier than a pig in ____ (well fill in the blank;) )

After we got out Geancarlo LOVES innoventions... So we made our way there

This table and chairs are made of corrugated cardboard- I thougt that was really neat... geancarlo had to make a chair in school out of cardboard, but it didnt NEARLY look like this...lol

Ok....Are you an interior designer??? I went to college for interior design...and then I went to college for legal studies. I enjoy college apparently. :rotfl: Right now I am working as a paralegal and having fun with it but I really want to use my interior design degree....OH THE SIMILARITIES!!! Are you sure we aren't seperated at birth???

I don't think I am going to do any kind of interior design work. I love being a paralegal and suing people!! Good times. :thumbsup2

Fantastic installment, Christina! We have the Royal Doulton set, it is beautiful ~ my Grandma had the set when we were little and when we saw it in Disney we knew we had to have it!

Mmmmm..... Sushi ~ what is the restaurant like inside? Gavin wants to go there for his birthday lunch but they don't take reservations I hear ~ do you know if that's true?

For the record.....as a parent....YES I did teach my children manners, however i do feel that I am in the very small percentage of parents that did. But rude children are common at Disney for 2 reasons.....lack of sleep and lack of sleep. :thumbsup2

Have you seen that T-shirt that says "I'm grumpy because you're dopey" (someones dad was wearing it in her TR). Well I told DH Disney would make $$$$ if they made one for little kids that said "You're grumpy because I'm sleepy!" :thumbsup2 sorry, totally :offtopic:

The Boardwalk pool looks like so much fun! My parents stayed there for the wedding...we shoulda used to pool! :headache:

Great TR, Christina! LOVE all the pix! Weren't the flowers incredibly gorgeous at EPCOT? I was there the first weekend in May for a race and I'll bet I took more than 50 pix of flowers and topiaries. I am so glad you got to see the flowers. :cutie: Oh, and major HUGS to Geancarlo on rescuing your lip gloss for you. Now, that is LOVE! (Definitely something Howard would do for me. :lovestruc ). :worried: I hope you didn't think i was offended by your post!! NO WAY!! Believe me, I saw lots of kids with no manners at WDW, and it's true, lots of parents don't teach them manners anymore! It's like they're too scared to discipline them or do anything the children might not want and turn them into "mean or bad" children. But they turn into mean and bad kids because they think they can do what they want!! I'm sure you're going to be a great parent!! Because you noticed the lack of manners in other kids, means you will ensure your kids have good manners! ;)

I am sure that if you cut things out to put the cost down some you probably won't even notice anything is missing on your wedding day. I am sure everything will still be beautiful!! What did you get? Maybe you can downsize something that way you can still have it??

Christina, don't panic! Mine was exactly the same and I managed to cut it down to $5,000 now. I don't actually think I will notice~just take the things you REALLY want and get rid of the others. Most of the things we added in wouldn't make an impact on the reception or ceremony and so we focussed on what would really make us happy...if that makes any sense!
