Am I Nuts? Or Should I extend the trip?

Hi,

I have reservations for HRH Sept 2nd-4th (the 4th we switch over to the WL @ Disney) but i want to extend the trip to the 1st, so we would be in universal 2 full days instead of one and a half (we wouldnt go to the park on the 4th) But this happens to be Labor Day Weekend! Am I nuts? Or should I not stress about the crowds?

We were onsite one year for the 4th of July and were not bothered by crowds with the front of the line access. That being said, I don't think i could ever do Universal for less than 3 nights. And, better to do it at the end of the trip if you can arrange it.

If you are able I would add the extra night. Dont worry about the crowds since you're staying on-site.

I usually tell everyone to put the Universal stay at the end of the trip, because once you stay onsite and have FOTL, you'll be spoiled.

But your plan will work because the kids are back in school. Labor Day isn't that big of a holiday. Sure, everyone gets the day off, but most stay home for the weekend. I'm sure the locals might visit, but people won't be flying in because of this day off. It's more like a rest day. When you visit Disney starting on the 5th, the kids will be in school, and the crowds are less.

I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.
