So...yay or nay? I've got a 2br/2ba suite reserved for mid August.

We were originally going to stay there next week, but found out the pool is pretty small and there was no hot tub. A major problem for DH. LOL But I may stay there again when the pool and hot tub aren't an issue. From all the research I did, it's supposed to be a clean place, good breakfast, decent sized rooms and good service!

I stayed there with my DD a few years ago. It was a very nice place for very little money. Breakfast was basic, rooms were clean and nicely decorated, the staff was very helpful. They even have a free computer for your use in the breakfast room if you want to check e-mail, etc., and you don't have your own.
The only downside was the lack of a hot tub. But it's right across from the parks' entrances, and next door to a well-stocked convenience store and a McDonald's.
I'd recommend it.

Nice location, adequate interiors, but not "resort" or "hotel" quality. It's really a motel and not a place to "hang" out, KWIM?
If you're just looking for a place to sleep and get a quick continental breakfast (free with stay) before you head out to the DLR, then this is the place for you. :thumbsup2
Be sure to bring toiletries from home with you (i.e., shampoo, soap). The freebies that come with the room are inadequate. We were only given one very small soap bar to use for both the sink and the bath.
We love the Carousel! The location is great, rooms are clean and the breakfast room is nice with the view of DL. I think you will love it! I have a view suite reserved for the first few days of our next trip in July. My best friend is coming with me (just us girls and the kids) and we are splitting the room. Then when dh gets there on the weekend, we are moving over the the PP. I am nervous that I will wish we had just stayed at the Carousel, but we'll see?
Good Luck & Have fun!

We love the Carousel Inn too, and we have stayed there twice this year. The rooms are always clean and we really like having a fridge and microwave. The pool is small, but the view from the rooftop is great! We don't spend much time in the room, so the location to the DL and to nearby restaurants is great for us. :)

Thanks for the input everyone.
We won't be spending much time at the hotel but to change/sleep etc. so this should work out perfectly. Also, how's the breakfast? Enough to fill you up or to just get you started?

June last year breakfast was toast, oatmeal , hard boiled eggs, apples, oranges, coussaints, danishes, coffee, orange juice, apple juice....
We only ate in the breakfast room a couple of times, as I was the early riser I would go up and get everything and take it back to the room, we would keep the pastries, eggs and fruit for lunch and we bought cereals and had that, toast and coffee/juice for breakfast.

I'm going to be staying here for the first time too. Bummer about the lack of hot tub, not that I'd have time to take a dip in it anyways. This hotel had the best rate of the GN ones on Harbor so I had to try it out.

I can't say I'd use the hot tub either, but from the responses I've had, the only thing I now worry about is parking. I guess there is construction going on and a good deal of the parking spots are being used for construction.

They were re-laying the carpark and building a Quinos when we were there in July last year. I am pretty sure it is all finished now, remember seeing something about it on Trip Advisor.... We didn't have a car so it didn't affect us at all.

Yes, you're right. Remodeling is complete. Parking is still at a premium, though. When we stayed there March 2007, we received a handout upon check-in saying that guests were allowed to park at the McDonald's lot just north of the Inn on Harbor in the event that there were no more parking spaces. It wasn't a problem when we checked-in mid morning, but it may be an issue in the late afternoon/evening.

 We enjoyed our stay at Carousel. We spent 2 nights, did the park one full day and never really spent time in the room, except for sleep!!
Breakfast got us going. DH and I had to get "real" coffee in DTD because the coffee was not good, but other that, it was good.
Carousel is a great place to stay if you need a nice, clean place to stay for your marathon DL days!! If you need a resort, stay at Grand Calif or DL Hotel!!
Have fun.

We were just there, 6/7-11/07. No construction, Quiznos is right there, continental breakfast is the same. Twice, we went to IHOP a couple of doors down for protein. Always clean, the fridge was great!
I would definitely stay there again. The walk wasn't bad at all.
