Im guessing, 4-5 hours. :| Its insanely crowded on opening day. :( Insanely slow ride, the ride is about 20 min for a group.

Oh dear lord! That's entirely way too long, even for me.

hopefully it won't be like that when I'm there in august.

My guess is if line was extending all around the lagoon and into fantasyland, my guess is 5-6 hours, including its low capacity. If it had high capacity maybe 2 hours!

I got to ride Nemo on Friday evening! It was awesome!! I'm glad I was able to ride beforehand! I don't think I could wait in that long of a line!! :faint: :scared1:

Someone on another board said the line as of 4PM was appox. 6 hours long!!!!! There's no way in hell I would wait that long on line for a 10 minute ride!

That amazes me! If I had to wait in line for six hours, I would have to bring a chair and maybe a portable DVD player.. a cooler full of drinks/ snacks...

I mean how do people go to the bathroom and find their way back in line?!? That is incredible.

Good question about the bathroom thing. I know Disney manager to set up places to buy drinks/snacks but didn't hear a thing about restrooms.

GOD! thats insane, im going the end of june and i pray that ride has a fast pass.

The last time i waited that long for a disney ride was when indiana jones was new. i went to DL a month after it opened and the line STARTED a little bit before the entrance to frontierland , it was insane, 6 hour wait :guilty:

Yep, no fastpass and it will never have fastpass. i might try to get on when the day is ending...that's my best bet, i'm not one to run towards the ride then still have to wait an hour anyways.

Someone on another board said the line as of 4PM was appox. 6 hours long!!!!! There's no way in hell I would wait that long on line for a 10 minute ride!My guess is at least 80% of these people are AP holders who can afford to burn an entire day just for this ride. They bring a book or IPOD and just wait it out. Non-AP folks who cannot burn an entire day for one ride will not wait this long. That is why the non-AP folks need to get there early and ride Nemo first thing.

And look at the bright side. If you get there early and ride Nemo and the line is insanely long for the rest of the day, that means less people in line for other rides.

right... 75 min wait for Splash(already by HM's exit). 40 min wait for Buzz(already out the queue area). I cant imagine what Space is like, probably just as long... everything was 40+ wait time.

I see no less people in other rides... it isnt doing much.

We'll be there tomorrow night through Sunday. I know the crowds are going to be awful, but at least with a three year old, he doesn't care about the big rides. We hope to hit rides very early and then hit the pool in the afternoon and maybe Fashion Island. I can't stomach standing in line for something that last month we walked on. So you ask "Why are we going now?" My cousing's wife is a teacher and this is the only time she can go. Hey, Dis is Dis. Wish us luck!!

OMG! Not even sure if it's going to be worth going this week. I'm seriously bummed now. Almost makes me wish they'd start limiting how many they let in, not much fun with 70+ minute waits for most things.

Thanks for the photos. We're certainly waiting a while before tackling that line! We were there on Sunday, but stayed far away from Tomorrowland. DD did get her picture taken by some members of the Japanese media. They gave her a set of pixie dust pins. Too bad there wasn't a Nemo ride too!

Wow, if there was ever a 10 day period to closely follow (or commit to memory) Hydroguy's Tips on how to enjoy DLR during the busy Summer months (mostly by getting there early & by effectively using FP)

.....this would be the 10 day period. ::yes::

Yup, I think so. I just went and read it over again (that and the avoiding long lines one). We plan on doing it. Only thing is we will be there on a weekend day (Saturday). Guess all we can do is the best we can, and my fingers are still crossed that today was the worst because it was opening day. One can hope right? :confused3

This evening we were hearing that the line was still 3 1/2 hours long. The scary part was just before fireworks started, when they detour everybody from Fantasyland around the Matterhorn to exit to Main Street. You aren't allowed to go through the castle or out by Alice in Wonderland. So the exit is on the other side of the Matterhorn -- Nemo lines on one side, Matterhorn line on the other, along with a temporary stage near Nemo. It was wall-to-wall humanity. Very unsafe. We had a stroller and my DS was getting a little freaked out by the crush of the crowd. And no cast members for crowd control... Luckily, we got out before the fireworks started and beat the crush on the trams.
Buzz Lightyear was 20 minutes, Casey Jr. 10 minutes. We found seats for the parade without trouble at the last minute.
Avoid Tomorrowland if you can, and exit Fantasyland either through Frontierland or by taking the train around to Main St. (in the evening when it's getting close to fireworks time).

I hope that the lines get a little bit less crazy by the time we go. I would hate to go and have to skip it because of the line. My husband doesn't have the patience for super long lines. I do though!

Things will settle down over the next few weeks. Yesterday Monday will likely be the worst, and today and the next two Sundays will also be very crowded on Nemo and around the parks. Remember that most of the crush of people right now are local AP holders who are die hards who can dedicate many hours to this one ride because they can come back anytime for the others. When there are blackout days for the local AP holders then the crowds will subside to a more normal level - but Nemo will remain busy all summer much like Space Mtn did in 2005.

I'm going in August, and I had pretty much resigned myself to skipping Nemo for this trip...but I just hope I can get on Space Mtn several times. It was down for refurb for my 1st visit (2003), and then I only rode it twice :sad1: on my 2nd trip in 2005 (long lines, breakdowns), so this time I was really looking forward to saturating myself in space! Unfortunately, because of its close proximity to Nemo, I suspect SM will be hammered by visitors all summer as well. Darn!:sad2:

Went on June 9th. They had a non-advertised public preview. So not too many people in the park knew about it until they walked by it. I got in line at 11:45AM, started my timer on my phone and I got in the sub only 50 minutes later!
BTMRR being closed at 11:30AM was a blessing. It gave me 90 min of free time on my Ridemax itinerary.
We felt pretty good on getting in on the preview and waiting less than an hour for a ride thats gonna be packed all summer.

Not to derail this thread but, "What Segway Tour? When? Where? How do I sign up???" That was one of my favorite things to do in Epcot. You can PM me Tink, if you don't want to continue to derail this thread;)

My guess it's going to continue to be around a 3 hour wait until the summer ends. Ohhh well I will attempt to ride it next week when we go either on Monday or Wendesday, try to get there towards the end of the day and just wait it out.

The line might be longer than it looks . . . if you're a family of 4, I'm sure one person will stay in line while the others go to rides, parades, & shows. Then those people come back in line when the person holding the spot moves up. What you see in those pics may actually be one quarter of the people who are actually going to ride.

Um, you've got a good point and this is no offense to you, but if I'm waiting for hours in that line? I'm NOT going to be in a Disney mood if a family tries to reunite mid-queue in front of me so that half of them can enjoy the park all afternoon. Just being honest. I don't know if that flies at Disneyland, but I KNOW it wouldn't work in Disney World.

We were at Space Mountain two years ago for the relaunch, and that's what these Nemo line reports remind me of. The line for SM reached further than we could see from the upper level of the queue, and the amazing thing was that the line for FAST PASSES was just as long!

Luckily dd and I were able to see it on the AP preview day and loved it!!!

FWIW, CM's were suggesting this exact strategy to folks while we were there this past weekend. The suggested family members rotate while waiting in the line- half wait while half go on a ride, etc.- as the line was slow moving and over 4 hours (if not more) long

Wow. Well, then I guess it does fly at Disneyland then. However, my initial reaction stands - I still won't be in a Disney mood, just cause a CM says it's ok.;)

I'd be very annoyed if one person stood in line holding a place for 8 people.

But if a family of 4 split into 2's and 2 stood in line while 2 went and rode, and then traded off, I'd be less inclined to be angry about that.

i would be totally annoyed too but here's the thing. We are a family of four. When we go it will be DH, DD 4, DD 1. DH and I could alternate in line every hour or two no problem. But there is no way either of my girls would tolerate that kind of a wait. We don't get to DL often and will want to ride. I guess we'll just have to see how long the line is when we go in Dec.

iceskatejen

Actually, it's 40 people per sub and they'll probably run 6 most of the time. The ride is 15 minutes, but takes about 5 minutes to load/unload. But, I can't even imagine what the line might be like with fastpass. The POTC line was horrendous when it had FP. Once they stopped having FP on it, the line went way down.

I think they should not put in fast pass until a ride is at least a couple months into its age. Initial demand will overwhelm the system. They'd burn right through their fast passes in the first hour or so and there would be a 30 minute line at the fast pass machines just to talk to a cm and discover they were out of fast passes for the day.

Now once things settle down, this would not be the case. But don't expect Fast Pass even then because the DL brass isn't as keen on Fast Pass as the WDW brass, I wouldn't expect Nemo to get it.
