Hi - we just got back from our trip and bought into the AKV while we were there. I understand that we'll receive a password for the website in the post but we're keen to book a trip to Scotland using our points this September and I'd like to find out which dates are classed as low / mid / high season. This info is available on the website right?

You definitely can call MS for all the information as that's what I did. :thumbsup2 To access the site you'll need your Membership Number, Vacation Club ID and a PIN. Good luck...:goodvibes

i would not recommend using your points for a trip to Scotland (not that i would not recommend Scotland i live there). i think you can get better value elsewhere using your points espcially if you keep your points for disney. if you really want to come to Scotland you can get good value breaks online i would gladly give you advise on where to stay and where not to. i have been a dvc member for 6 years and i really do not see any value in using points anywhere outside dvc sites. if i can be of any help do not hesitate to contact me on tonykelly.67@virgin.net

We used our points for Devon and were really pleased with the accommodation.

We wanted a trip in February half term which did not include travel costs (which are so prohibative during school holidays) and for just a week.

We had a great time and here is the link for my trip report

We have also used our points to go to Disneyland Paris and this year we are using them for our Disney Wonder Cruise.

I also hope to use them for trips to europe.

Thanks for your feedback Tony & Sue. It's funny isn't it how people measure the "value" of their points.

We are heading to Scotland this year as we just got back from a 21 day trip to Florida so can't afford to go abroad again. We bought into DVC now because it works for us - but we knew we wouldn't be travelling to WDW again this year - or next for that matter - so we have points "to spare" so to speak. We want to take my husband's parents away for a really nice holiday as a thank you and this way we can treat them staying somewhere really special and the only costs are £20 easy jet flights and car hire.

We have bought enough points to allow us to use the world passport exchange once every three years - the fact that we can travel all over the world and stay in "Disney approved" accomodation appeals to us - yeah we get better value staying at our home resort - but when you factor in travel costs and spending money it's much of a muchness.

And although it looks like I'm disagreeing with you Tony - that's not quite the case...

I see that Sue has spent a great week in a lovely cottage in Croyde Bay - somewhere that we personally do not consider value for our points... but only because we've been there for a few long weekends (only a couple of hours from Bristol by car) and always stay in the caravan park right next door... where we can stay in a 70s style caravan for just £70!! :teeth: I think I'm trying to say what doesn't work for one works perfectly well for another :thumbsup2
