I want to book a trip with free dining for Sept. 22-27 for myself, DW, DS (infant), and possibly my DSIL. My DSIL still doesn't know if she can get off of work at that time and won't be able to let me know until the next week or two. I am aware that the last day of booking is June 24 and that the longer I wait to book the less chance I'll have to get it. My question is if I book the free dining package for myself, DW, and DS right now, can I include my DSIL later with the free dining? Or will she be added, but without the free dining? Provided that I do so before June 24, of course. :thanks: in advance!!!

It depends. Will DSIL be in the same room or her own room? If she will be in her own room, she might not be able to be added if there is no more availability for free dining. If she will be in the same room with you, as long as you add her before 6/24 it should be fine.

If you call Disney to make your reservations, you should be able to put a room on hold for her for I think up to 14 days. They will set aside a reservation for her without a down payment and will then release the room if no down payment is made within 14 days (I could be wrong on the timeline). This might be an option to look into if she wants her own room and will know in the next week or two.

She will be in the same room with us.

Then it should be no problem to add her with the free dining as long as you add her before the cutoff date for booking free dining. Have fun!

In Disney's newsletter they stated that the free dining is only available now for 9/2–9/10/07 and 9/16–9/22/07.

So you may want to check that the dates you want are even available.

That most likely means you need to check in by/on those dates; currently, Guests arriving on 9/22 on the free dining promo have that for up to ten nights.

Couldn't OP just add her to the room/dining to secure the reservation....and then if sister can't go call and cancel her out of the reservation? I could have sworn I ready somewhere that you have up to 45 days before arrival to change/cancel your reservation with any penalty/fees? I think it's wrong to book a room you don't plan to use, but in the OP's case, they'd still be using the room and 3 of the dining plans, so it's not like they'd be booking up rooms that some other family can't get...they'll use it no matter what, the question is only whether it's 3 people or 4?

Another question along the same line.....the girls and I are going for 3 weeks....DH is now saying he maybe can get away from work for a week, but won't know until a few weeks before we leave (this is NOT for the free dining, it'll be in January, 2008). Can I just plan for the girls and I and if he ends up able to go can I just add him to the room? Or does he even NEED to be added, since the girls and I are 3 and all rooms are for 4? And could we add him for the dining plan for just the days he's there...I sure don't need TS/CS for 2 weeks he won't be there! Or can I just add him to the room and he can use one or two of our leftover TS's? I know he won't want fancy restaurant's every day and we'll be doing some 2Ts places before he'd arrive, so it may work to be able to just do 1 TS place while he's here and him use one of our extra meals. Do they have the names on the TS credits?
