DH and I took a quick trip to WDW at the end of April. Our spring schedule has been pretty hectic, so I am just now getting around to posting a few photos from that trip
I was pretty happy with my photos of Spectro - much improved over last trip.

Wishes - we didn't have a great viewing spot for Wishes. We were too busy having fun and then realized that Wishes was going to begin in about 10 minutes. So I got what I could and will try again next trip.

Thanks. My camera is a Niikon D80 and I used the 18-200VR lens and the 50mm 1.8 lens. My nighttime settings were:
Spectro 50mm lens, f1.8, 1/80 shutter, ISO 1600, exp. comp. +1.3
Illuminations 18-200 lens, f8, 1 sec. shutter, ISO 200
Germany 18-200 lens, f5.6, 1 sec. shutter, ISO 640
MK Mainstreet 50mm lens, f1.8, 1/60 shutter, ISO 1600
Wishes 18-200 lens, f14, 2 sec. shutter, ISO 1250 (screwed up and had my auto ISO on. Another lesson learned the hard way!)

Very nice - is Smugmug stripping the exif or are you? It'd probably be easier on you if they were there so we wouldn't have to keep asking you. :)
That bike at Animal Kingdom is almost becoming a Photography board tradition - me and my companions all took a few photos of it last time we were there. :) There's another one nearby that I also shot but I'm not superhappy with the results of those.

I've noticed too, Groucho about the smugmug and exif data thing. Most of the exif data I can't view are from pics posted on smugmug. Same for Flickr. It is kinda of pain.
To steve's girl. Wonderful pictures. Excellent job. But there is one problem..... WE WANT MORE!!!!!!! :TEETH:

Steve's Girl, those pictures are fabulous! They are so crystal clear and the colors are incredible. Did you use a tripod and shutter release for the night time pics? Really great job! :thumbsup2

Smugmug attaches the EXIF data to the original size file, the smaller images that most of us use to post, it strips it from them, it is supposed to make them more web friendly I guess as they are smaller size files.

Well, I wish I knew the answer to the exif data question. Here is the process I follow when uploading pictures (I know the technical term is "workflow", but me using that term would imply that I actually know what I am doing and that is just not the case!)
1. I transfer the photos from my memory card to my computer using Picture Project (Nikon's software).
2. The RAW images are converted to jpeg using Capture One LE (received a free download of this program)
3. I then use Picasa2 to crop, straighten, etc.
4. To upload the photos to smugmug I right click on the file that contains the photos and select "send to smugmug".
That is my little process. So, I'm not sure where the exif data goes. It is a pain for me to have to always go back to Picasa to look at the data. I wonder if that is a default setting on smugmug and I have to go into the control panel and specifically request that the exif data stays with the photo? I'll look into it.
I am considering getting Lightroom to hopefully resolve some of this. It is pretty cumbersome to be using three different programs to work with my photos.

Thanks. I used a tripod and shutter release for the fireworks and the Germany photo. All others were handheld.

You have a similair "workflow" to me SG and I find it a little protracted too.
I use Lightroom for converting and PSE 3 for a little further tweaking if needed.
I too am a little uncomfortable with the term "workflow". I find PP very new and scary and generally just fiddle about blindly until the pics look OK to me. :lmao:

I've been using Lightroom for about a week or so now, and it's absolutely stellar - it's made a huge difference already. I've even been going through all my older PnS photos now to run them though... doing stuff like correcting white balance on my 2mp Fuji photos (it usually skewed a little bit more bluish than it should have), keywording everything, etc... it's really amazing.
The downside is that now I'm going to spend ridiculous amounts of time re-doing pretty much all my earlier photos... I am looking forward to going through my RAW photos from my last WDW trip though!
You can get a 30-day trial... it's worth checking out. Though I'm sure a lot of my positive experience has been from watching some video training, I'm sure I would have missed a lot of the features otherwise, or taken a long time to discover them on my own.

You asked for it!
...and I don't regret it for a nanosecond! Your pix are wonderful; the Roy/Minnie is, I believe, the absolute best I have seen and maybe the only nighttime shot of that subject.
There *are* more, where those came from, right?

I did use a tripod for the fireworks photos and the photo of Germany. I have a basic Manfrotto tripod. Can't remember the exact model. Maybe 190something or another. Nothing fancy. Pretty much an entry level tripod. But I have been very happy with it (especially when DH carries it for me!)
