View Full Version : Tie dye Mickey shirts - do you start with wet or dry shirts?

I bought a Rainbow Rock dye kit today that says "no presoaking required" of the shirts in soda ash before dyeing. This is new as previous Rainbow Rock kits I've seen included soda ash. It also gives the option of dyeing them wet or dry. I'd like to hear what you did and, if you've done it both ways, which way resulted in the best color. Thanks for your help!

I used dry shirts as mine didn't come with soda ash and they turned out great. I did run out of dye though, if they had been wet they might not have absorbed as much. These were washed 3 times. . . before this picture.

Thank you! Your shirts look great and your DD's are sooooo cute!

That's a good point that wet shirts might not asbsorb as much dye. I don't want to run out of dye right in the middle of doing them. :eek:
