ok I booked the radisson celebration orlando a couple of months ago for an August trip - go a good price off of mousesavers. Then heard all kinds of reviews (mostly bad)- the main worry for me personally is the temp of the pool - everyone is saying it's ICE cold, too cold to go in, etc. I have 2 kids that want to be in the pool CONSTANTLY , and I would have to go in with them and do not like cold at all.

I've been toying with the idea of the sheraton safari instead. I want to keep the cost around the same and this one I could get right around the same price. So question is - for people that have experience - which one would you choose?

TIA

well in August nothing is going to be ice cold. Heck you might appreciate if it was.

august can easily be over 100 degree - but generally in the 90's.

the sheraton safari is a the little closer to WDW. but it is an older hotel.

We have stayed at both places a couple of times...actually either one is fine, neither one is spectacular. I would not worry about any pool in Orlando being cold by August!! The Safari has the great Sheraton bedding and the pool is cute. Radisson seems a little newer and brighter to me. We have had issues at both places with housekeeping (VERY slow to get rooms cleaned but they were clean after they finally did them).

I would probably give a very slight edge to the Sheraton just because of the location...very easy WDW property access. We have never used shuttle service at either place so I cannot comment on that. I think basically either place will work, I would go back to either place if necessary, but neither one would be on my list of memorable hotels.

thanks -

FYI we are not doing WDW this trip anyway - we'll have a rental car and are doing seaworld and universal.

You might consider staying offsite in a condo, it is a very economical way to stay. Lots of space, a full kitchen and very comparably priced to moderate hotels offsite. A recent poster reported staying at a new resort, Seven Dwarfs Lane for $499 per week for a 4bed/3bath townhome. check out www.vrbo.com, general nightly rates are $69 - $89 per night. (Once you get used to the space in a condo or villa, you never want to stay in a regular hotel room again for more than 2 nights...lol)

The Sheraton Sweet sleeper beds are really wonderful. So if you want to stay in a hotel, I'd stay there just for the comfy beds.

We stayed there and yes it is a cold pool. You do get used to it, our trip was in Oct so in August it should be even better to cool off in. There is a smaller heated pool also.
We prefer Courtyard by Marriott LBV(just around corner frorm Safari) Paying $50incl tax/night in August for 25 nights, great value.
