Hello! Thanks for joining me!

The plan, at this time, is to drive to Disney. Coming from Michigan it’s about an 18 hour trip. Knock some of that off if I’m doing most of the driving. We are leaving the day before Thanksgiving. That is, if the ex doesn’t start whining. (I am hoping we will be gone before he finds out, hee hee!)

I have 3 children. A daughter, 19 and two sons, 14 and 16. I have been married to my second husband for almost 4 years. I have always lived in Michigan (except for the time I thought it would be cool to move to Florida with my boyfriend for 9 months, actually it was pretty cool).

My daughter is the only one that won’t be coming with us. She moved a couple hours away to a bigger city. She definitely has the attitude for it!!

On to the trip-------------------------------------

We are spending Thanksgiving night in Daytona. We will be there most of the day Friday.

Then, we get to check into the Pop for 2 nights.

After that, we will go to the Boardwalk Villas for 5 nights on the DDP. We rented points from a really nice disser!! Thanks, you rock!:thumbsup2

I am a compulsive Disney planner. C’mon, you have to be, right?

If you agree, I will send you a self stamped addressed envelope so you can hopefully convince my family.

I told my husband his only job was to pick out all the places he wanted to eat. I printed off the menus and had him make the decision. Everything was set, up until I discovered the restaurant section on the boards.

I changed them all!

He doesn’t know, but I don’t think he will even remember what he picked. After the meal, I will tell him he did a great job picking the restaurant. Guys like that stuff!!

Next Up, Introductions!

I've been waiting for you to start your pre-trip report.

This is going to be fun!!!

We're both in smiliar situations and I can't wait to see how your road trip turns out

Uh oh!!! You'll have to remember to let us know how this part turned out.

We will be there the same time as you from Nov 26-30.....my DH's request is that we eat at Boma (last year the chef came out with extras for him bbq shrimp and fried oreos). We will be celebrating our anniversary there for the 4 year in a row with our DD princess:

We are staying at the BCV....end of July we will be at BWV.

Hey, glad you found me!

We're both in smiliar situations and I can't wait to see how your road trip turns out
It's going to be interesting. Usually I do most of the driving. (something about me and control:confused3 ) But my husband just bought a new Mega cab Dodge. So I don't think I am going to get to do much. Lately he's been driving like a grandpa, so it might take longer. There is always the option of tying him up and putting him in the back!!!:thumbsup2

....and I have two girls the same age as your sons - yep, it's going to be interesting! Too bad we weren't going at the same time ;)

I know, I was thinking the same thing, we'd have a blast. My oldest son is a little girl crazy right now. Hormones??? My youngest was talking about the lizards in Florida. I told him he would have to catch one. He said they were too fast. I just had to tell him about the girls that caught one!!

So, now it's on!!

I am here and I certainly know how you feel, not too many replies on my thread either. I can't wait to hear more.

My Dad is from MI, Detroit to be exact, right in the city. He grew up right off of Joy Road. Anyway, we have family in MI. My aunt lives in White Lake, is that anywhere near you?

No, I meant posting quotes. I can make it work some time. I can't figure out what I am not doing.

My daughter is moving to Detroit in November. I haven't heard of White Lake. Did you live in Michigan?

Thanks for coming!!

Hey ILMICKEY,

I am here to keep you company on your pre trip report. I love the whole changing all the restaraunts on your DH. You're right, if he is the typical man he will forget what he had picked.

Driving from MI? Holy goodness that is a long time in a car. When I take the kids to the ex in Cheboygan MI. I go stir crazy sitting there for so long, but we even cut the trip in half and spend a night at my parents who live outside of Pontiac. Are you driving it straight through?

I am also keeping the ex in the dark about our upcoming trip to Disney. Ex's like to ruin things like that. Although it is court ordered he be able to get ahold of the kids and I have to supply him with a number when we are not home, I will shoot him an e-mail about an hour before we leave, still following the court order but it doesn't give him time to do anything about it.

Looking forward to reading about all of your plans.

No, I live in NH. My Dad has not lived in MI since 1968 when he married my Mom.
We used to go to Detroit every year for vacation to see my Dad's side of the family. As a child we took only one vacation that was not MI and that was WDW. Vacations in Detroit were not very exciting. Lets see if I can remember some landmarks, Detroit Zoo, Henry Ford Museum, Bobloo Island, Tiger's game,... Yap, I think that is it.

Hello there!! I really wanted to get my intros done this weekend, but I am having a rough time trying to figure out how to post a picture. :headache: Soooo, as soon as I do, I will get this going!!

disneyaddicted-Hey!! I am hoping to drive it straight through. Maybe stopping at a rest stop for a couple hours. I am sure the hubby will have something to say about it. I'll just call him a wussy and "challenge" him!!! No, since I'm sure he will be doing most of the driving, he will stop.

This is my ex's Thanksgiving. It could get reeeeeeaaaaaal interesting!! Stay tuned!

our2girlsanddisney-I am a Tiger FREAK!! I get so bummed when it's not on T.V.!! Never been to the zoo or Bobloo. I don't think Bobloo is there anymore. I went on a field trip to the Museum last year. NOT a fun place to take a bunch of 13 year old boys. Poor kids were bored out of their minds!!

Well hopefully with a little research I can get this done!!

ILMICKEY

Oh, oh, oh! I think I figured it out.

So here goes

The Introductions..................................... ...

First up, my youngest son. He is 14. I'm gonna call him Sport. The name says it all. He keeps me very busy and broke with all his sports. There is football, wrestling, track and baseball. He wants to be a professional baseball player!! Sport is the prankster of the family. You can't walk around a corner without him scaring the heck out of you!

He is a thrill seeker. We usually go to Cedar Point every year, not this one. Disney doesn't quite do it for him anymore. He was given the choice to stay home. He's going!! This is Sport!

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d830b3127cce854ef4a7160600000045130BcsWbZyybMY

Next up we have my oldest son, 16. He is Mozart. This is because of his love of music. He has been playing the violin for 7 years. He is really good at it. When he was little he taught himself to play the Titanic theme song on his kiddie piano. I was stunned!! Maybe even a tear came down.

The plan after graduation is to go to Disney on the college program. Whoopee!!! I will just have to go visit him ALL the time.
And here is Mozart
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d830b3127cce854ef4a4973500000046100BcsWbZyybMY

Next is, oooh let me think. Well anyway, this is my husband. We have been married for almost 4 years. He has no children. Bonus!! He owns a lawn and landscaping business. We spent our honeymoon in Florida going to the Daytona 500 and Disney. How perfect!! We had to do the Honeymoon before we were married due to the fact he can't take time off in the summer. And maybe because we are a little backward:confused3 . He is an avid deer hunter. The season starts Nov. 15, we leave Nov. 22. He isn't real happy about it. If he isn't in the car at 4:30, bye bye baybee!!
No, really, he has the money, we can't leave without him!!
Meet Fred (Fred Bear???)
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d830b3127cce854ef4a1160000000026100BcsWbZyybMY

And last is me! I have been secretly planning this trip since the day we arrived home from the last one. I know it will be the last one until after the boys graduate. They are getting so busy with school things and they have made it a lot harder to graduate in Michigan now. I don't want to pull them. So, this is it. And I want it to be WONDERFUL, whether they like it or not.
So meet me, Ilmickey!!
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d830b3127cce854ef4a2973300000026100BcsWbZyybMY

Well, this is us. Nice to meet you!!

Nice to have a face to go with the name now. Very glad to meet you!!!

sports! love it and hate it. Love to watch the kids play hate to put the money out for it.

Your DH sounds just like my DH. Both avid hunters, both into Nascar (who's your #1 driver?) both business owners, both brave enough to take on woman with ex's... My DH is also a major trapper.

So you are taking the kids to Disney during the ex's parenting time? woooooow! this will be better than any soap opera I watch. No wonder you want to keep it hush hush. I love a good secret, I have been known to keep a few too. My family calls me the bean spiller. I know! Rude right? anyway, can't wait for more updates.

ILMickey:Loved the pictures! My DH is a hunter too. He first started the whole hunting thing to bird hunt. You know him and his dog hunting in the woods. Fine with me not problems here. I'd get all excited when he would show me the birds. Last year he started the whole Deer Hunting thing. I was not too happy with him. How could they shot a cute deer like that? Fortunatly, he is new to whole deer hunting thing so, he did not shot a deer. He blames me. Apparently, I was supposed to wash his clothes in unscented laundry detergent, but I bought Mountain Spring Scent. I honestly did not see the little green triangle on the top of the bottle, I thought it was unscented. Needless to say, it is my fault he did not shot a deer. Too bad!! Hehehe. One question for your DH. What are his thoughts on the scent block hunting clothes. DH insists he needs it, but it is not cheap.

disneyaddicted-I KNOW!! It seems like he always needs something. The other day he told me one of his cleats had fallen off his shoe. I had to buy a whole pack for 1 piece. Always somethin!!

I used to be real heavy into Nascar. Now, not so much!! My driver was, believe it or not, Ward Burton. Something about that laid back (stoner) speech. Fred likes Ryan Newman.

Fred doesn't trap. He also rabbit hunts. I hate it when he brings those home. NO MEAT!! We need 10 rabbits to feed this family.

The boys have really had a rough time with their dad. There was a time when he didn't take them for over a year because his wife didn't want them. Now he is divorced with a new girlfriend and has become "super dad". We aren't buying it. I figure since he got to decide whether or not to take them, being the adult, I would let the boys decide whether or not to go. They aren't going with him at all this summer because they have jobs. So, I figure if he is going to do anything about it, he will do it now.

I sat with Sport last year, it was his first. We sat in a blind. This kid is makin all sorts of noise, standing up, farting. I was ready to kill HIM!! Guess who got the deer!!!

He did.

Oh yeah, I hear you! Reese cheering on 2 squads means buying 2 new pair of shoes each year, Cougars wears Kaepa's and Lions wear Nike's, new half tops, new warmups, at least Lions let's me fundraise for all the clothes.
Jim doesn't play sports, he plays guitar so lessons add up, new strings, always wanting an upgrade etc..etc..

My man is Dale Earnhart, I am going to marry him, My DH said I could:banana:

Why is it that an ex's personality changes with every new woman he's with? My ex didn't much care for the kids till he remarried now he is playing perfect father and the courts are buying it. When he was with me his back ground story was "he was a loner" Then when he got with his GF all of a sudden he was an ex gang banger from LA (he was born and raised in Yorba Linda CA.) now he is with this new wife and the story is he was a big surfer. I think he suffers from a personality disorder.

It's a good thing we have Disney to escape to:upsidedow

That is too funny. Yes, I really did wash his clothes in Mountain Spring Tide. He sits in those tree stands for hours. The boy would go after work sit in the tree until dark, and on the weekends all day. He even went on Thanksgiving morning. One day he was getting out of his truck and a huge buck was in the woods looking right at him. DH didn't have his gun loaded because it was in the truck plus he was on the side of the road with cars driving by. He was so bummed.

On Sunday night, I went running around 7:00 and all of a sudden a deer walks out in front me. He heard me coming, looked over and trotted away. This guy was walking his dog and I shouted because I had my iPod on "Did you see the deer?" He looks at me and says, Yes, Shhhhh. Opps must have scared that poor deer away. Then I proceed to tell DH the story and he had all kinds of questions, what size, doe or a buck, blah, blah.

Maybe this year will be his year for Bambi. He has is name in for the Moose lottery, lets see if he gets that licence. Personally I prefer the pheasants.

ILMICKEY

disneyaddicted- I am really hoping you mean Dale Jr??? There may be possibility there, Senior, not so much!!

I think when we divorce our husbands, we should have the option of shooting them too!! Do your kids have to go with them for summer? I got lucky this year. Both the boys are working, so they don't have to go. I hate that he gets them on Fathers Day. Fred has been more of a father in 4 years than "daddy" has their whole life!! That is funny about the personality disorder!! When we were going through the custody battle, the judge told him he suffers from severe paranoia!!

We married freakin psychos!!!!!!

our2girls&disney- Tell him to hang in there. If you hunt it, it will come!! I really like to hunt, the stories, I can totally live without!! Does he go out and sit like an hour before sunup?? I hate, hate, hate it, but that is how we get most of them. Man, does that sun take forever to rise!! And don't even get me started on sunset!!!

That is cool about the moose hunt. That is my dream hunt!! I love Moose. What an awesome animal!!! Tell him good luck and if he gets one, I will need pictures!!!!!

That shooting the ex option would be nice. Yes the kids have to go, but we are filing a petition to modify the custody order after the new year. Neither kid wants to go. Reese has never wanted to, Jim was always trying to build a relationsgip with his father but he realizes now that his father is too self absorbed to have any kind of relationship, he has finally given up on him.

ADR's

I was so excited to make my ADR's. I've never did this before. The CM was really nice, but I didn't get "have a magical day" or anything of the sort.

Searching the food porn thread on here was awesome. If you haven't done this, go check it out.

Now!

Hurry!!!

The pictures are what made my mind up.

Alright, here we go!!

We will be at the Pop on the 23, but not on the DDP. So we will have to pay OOP. I know I want to hit Earl of Sandwich. Those sandwiches look pretty darn delicious. Then Saturday, we will use counter service all day.

Sunday-25
Lunch at Tusker House (or whatever it will be when we go, hoping for CS)
Dinner at Planet Hollywood (Thought this would be cool for teenage boys?)

Monday-26-
Lunch at The Cantina-(Mexico)
Dinner at Ohana- I wanted to time this right for the water pageant and the MVMCP fireworks. Hopefully we will be finished with our dinner in time to go watch from the beach.

Tuesday-27-
Lunch at Flame Tree BBQ
Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe- I'm not telling anyone anything!!
P.S.--Sport is a ketsup addict!!!:lmao:

Wednesday-28
Lunch-Don't really know-will be at MGM that day.
Dinner-Spoodles at the Boardwalk-

Thursday-29
Lunch at The Yorkshire Fish Shop
Dinner at Le Cellier (this is the only one Fred got to keep!!) I want to do the Candlelight Processional after dinner.

Among my list of meals I want to add another absolute must have favorite!!
Napoleon from the French Bakery. OMG! This pastry is heaven. Soooooo Yummy!!

Well, there you have it. What do you think?? Really, if you haven't already did so, go check out the picture thread!!

I do love the drive though. All the country you get to see. I figure since we seem to go to Disney for all our major vacations this is one way to see other places. Sport collects shot glasses. If we didn't go through all the different states, he would only have ones from Florida.

I don't know if we will stick with the CS I have picked. I guess it depends on where we are at the time. When my guys want to eat, they want to eat now!! Too bad it is usually at different times. So we will see about them.

Now how in the world did I miss the pic of you with your fiest buck? Good job! looks tasty! was it?

You have never flown? I love flying but I never get to. I am so excited that this is a trip I get to fly for. I don't mind driving but it gets real old real fast! I feel safe flying. My brother is in school to be a flight mechanic. He'll be gradiated and edumicated by the time I fly. I don't know why this makes me feel better, it's not like he is going to be my personal airline mechanic.

I am looking forward to your trip report right now for the sole purpose of reading you family antics at WC. It's gonna be a good one! I will be like one of those people who line up outside of the book store a day early waiting for the next Harry Potter book. Husband will probably wonder why I am camped at my computer chanting "I gotta be the first to comment the WC report"

Now you sound like JoJo talking about tying her sister Goofy on the roof during our trip! :rotfl2:

I know, I was thinking the same thing, we'd have a blast. My oldest son is a little girl crazy right now. Hormones??? My youngest was talking about the lizards in Florida. I told him he would have to catch one. He said they were too fast. I just had to tell him about the girls that caught one!!

 My two are such tom boys when it comes to creatures.

and hormones with girls :scared: ...... don't even get me started on that subject :headache:

blue- The roof thing really isn't a bad idea, just let her know she has to take a turn. Just think of the peace and quiet. (well except for the pounding on the roof)

OMG, I would have traded my daughter for 5 boys. You definitely have it worse with girls!! :worship:

Hi,
Just spent the last couple of minutes catching up with this pre-trip. I had 2 kids that went to Northern Michigan University. My dd just graduated last Dec. Anyways, my youngest son is up there and he went deer hunting too. You can do a tag along without any license or tags. My dd just told me she has more friends in Michigan (lower now) than she does in WI.

Nascar-The Nascar Banquet is the week before you leave in NYC, so you may spot some Nascar drivers at WDW during Thanksgiving. Nascar drivers for some reason like to vacation at WDW. During Easter I saw Bobby LaBonte and his wife, son and daughter at the Poly. Keep your eyes opened you just never know who you might see, and watch for CM's with checkered vests-they are VIP's CM's.

ILMICKEY

OhMari-Hello!! Did your son like hunting? I just absolutely love Northern Michigan. It is so beautiful with the sand and pines!! When we don't get to go to Florida, we go there.

I will be sure to keep my eyes out for drivers. I'd really like to run into Martin Truax Jr. Woohoo, what a hottie!! So if I see a CM with a Checkered shirt, then there will probably be a driver around??

Thanks so much for the tip!!:thumbsup2

Hi again! Just caught up with all your ADRs and stuff! You have some good ones--I love Le Cellier and WCC! not to mention mass quantities of grilled meats! We did the breakfast at 'Ohana this trip and it was really good too, plus you don't have to get up to get your food--they just bring you more and more sausage! Mmmm, sausage. LOL!

Can't wait to read more!

LadyGracey-I can't wait for these restaurants!! We are definitely meat eaters!! I tried to pull of the ole Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese for supper thing, well you'd have thought I committed this terrible crime!

Their eyes got wide, fangs started showing, drool and foam was coming out of their mouth, I think they even got hair on their hands. I thought they were going to eat ME!!

Ran outside, grabbed the dead possum on the road, threw it on the grill-

Wow! It was a miracle. They were back to normal, sniffing the grill going ummmmmmm!

So, there had better be meat!!

Kidding, wasn't quite like that.

Almost!

I keep hearing the meat at Ohana's is dried out. Is that true?? I like jerky, but only when the package says jerky. Don't really eat it for supper!!

Hello- I need to complain a bit!!

I bought a pair of pale yellow beach crocs on Ebay. Mind you I did this on the 14 of June.

The day after I bought them she sends me an e-mail asking me what size I want!

Duh!

The description said size 8. Do you really think I would buy an 8, but really want a 3????

Geez!

So, I sent one back telling her the ad said 8, that is what I want---8!!

I get on my computer this morning, I have another e-mail from her. She only has 2 shoes, both left feet!!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

Do I want to order a different color or would I like my money back???

NO, PLEASE, PLEASE send me the 2 left ones.

Really I asked for my money back.

For some reason lately I have had real bad luck with ebay. I ordered a DVD for my son, bought and paid for it.

A MONTH went by, no DVD. I sent an e-mail to them. They told me they had to backorder it!!!

HOW DO YOU PUT SOMETHING ON EBAY WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE IT??????

So I got my money back then too!!

Back to the croc/ebay/crap!!

What do I turn around and do??

Order another pair from a different seller!! Think it's true, you get what you deserve??

Same color, caymans!

Does she get her shoes?
How long WILL it take??
Will she even like them when they come??
Does she go freaky on Ebay????

Stay tuned!!

disneyaddicted-That is soooo funny. Even in Michigan, no one knows where Osseo is!! We are just north of Ohio. Look for Hillsdale. US 12 runs close and 99 runs through it.
Ebay is auctions, but sometimes they will have a "buy it now" price. Don't get me wrong, I have bought a lot of good stuff (especially for sports). I'm just not having much luck right now.

dreagirl-The only reason I bought on Ebay was the fact I have a paypal credit card. Thought I'd try it out.

I KNOW!! I could just kick myself for not just going for it!! Hee hee!!

The only thing I know about Michigan is how to get there from the Ohio Turn pike. My family is from right outside of Pontiac, I asked my Dad where Osseo was and all he said was South. So that could mean anything.

I read that you guys have done Cedar Point, I havent been in years, but I want to take Reese and give her a taste of real rollercoasters now that she is tall enough. I actually meet the ex in Sandusky sometimes to hand off or pick up the kids. But I never think to head over to Cedar Point. :(

Do they even consider that Michigan?;)

We love Cedar Point too. We haven't been lately because we had a newborn last summer and we can't find anyone to go with us this summer. We really don't want to stand in line alone. Really boring!

We exit the turn pike way before that. But I kind of have an idea now.

I would love to take Reese, Jimmy doesn't want to go, he and Kent would probably find a place to go fishing. We thought about going this year when I pick up the kids in Sandusky August 12th, but a day at the park and then a 6 hour drive home seems a bit too much, we would just get a hotel but Reese starts cheerleading practice on the 13th for both of her squads. I was thinking on maybe going in the fall, but it would be next fall as all my pennies are going towards Disney this year.

blue-Oh don't let me hinder you from buying on Ebay. I do love it!! As a matter of fact when I got home from work yesterday my crocs were there!! Only took the weekend to ship, that's service!! Go for the pins!! Much cheaper that at the World.

dreagirl- No, not really. They just call it in Michigan when we are paying our taxes. Otherwise, we are just Osseo.

We stayed at a Travelodge last year and that was $100/night. It was a dive. Seriously, it is cheaper to go to Disney!!

disneyaddicted-Yep, me too! Every single cent is going to Disney. I was hoping to do a little camping this summer, but I can't take away from the "fund". Besides, the dirt and trees will be there next year right??

Cedar Point is really cool when they do the Halloweekends! And it is nice and cool. NO SWEATING!!

Oh, by the way, when I put on my new crocs last night, I laughed my @$$ off. Oh my it was hilarious! The initial shock of seeing MY feet in those ugly things. Fred called me the little dutch girl:sad2: ! The boys said "you are seriously going to wear them?"

But I walked around the house in them and they were pretty comfortable, just not pretty. I guess maybe the more I wear them, the more I might get used to them??

estherhead-I so hope you are right. We went the second week in December last time. It wasn't too bad, but you could feel it getting a little more crowded as the week went on. Maybe with less people the better chance of this girl getting to stay in the castle!!:thumbsup2

shellbel-I watched a little Family Feud last night, just to check him out again. And you know what happened?? Nothing, I still don't care for the guy. Let's hope for someone Hot!! Maybe Matthew McConnehey! (spelling?).

I have really had more good than bad experiences with Ebay. Just lately I haven't. The second pair of crocs worked out much better! And low and behold, they were a left AND a right foot!!

ILMICKEY

Well I wore my new crocs all last evening. I watered the flowers, made supper, did the dishes, laundry all with my new crocs.

I will admit they are comfy, just going to take a lot of getting used to the look, or the looks I am going to get!!

I have been thinking about things I want to do at Disney that I haven't done before.

1. I want to ride the Jungle Cruise in the dark. I do like the Jungle Cruise, but after the same ole, same ole, I want to mix it up a bit!

2. Buzz Lightyear! How did I not know about this ride? I always thought it was a little kiddie ride. It totally looks like a blast. We are so competetive we may actually be on it all day.

3. Carousel of Progress. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. I have read in other threads that it has been open all the time, has never shut down. Well, I can tell you the last two times I was there, It WAS NOT open! The sign said "seasonal".

4. The Candelight Processional. I watched from a distance last time. Was Very nice, (what I did see of it).

5. American Adventure. Walked by it hundreds of times, never stopped. I mean I figured I was already there, why would I want to go in? The more I read about it, the more I want to see it.

6. Slow down a bit. Usually we are doing the commando thing. I want to take park breaks.

7. Tour other resorts. I want to go to the resorts with the big decorations. I really want to see the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian.

Am I boring you yet?

I just want to slow down and explore. Life is going way way to fast. My kids are almost all grown up and I feel like I need to cram all the special moments into the next few years that I can. I think about my life without running around from the moment I get up to the time I go to bed. Nobody calling for them, or "mom, wheres my ____". I want them to be able to tell their children about the special times they had growing up, the happy times with their mom. I sit here and type this with my eyes getting all watery because I absolutely hate the thought of my life without them so close, because we are so close.

So, I intend to make this a very special trip, for all of us! Take time to smell the roses so they say!! This Report is for them!!

We too are also going to take things slower this time around and have more of a "relaxing" trip.

I got sentimental reading your post as well. My DD is only 13mo. but she is growing up so quickly.

I'll have to make a list of "must dos". That way I won't be so overwhelmed.

Thanks for the idea!!

blue-Thanks for the hug!!

It is amazing to me exactly how much stuff there is to do. They are right when they say you can't do it all, though I am sure we all have tried. But even then, when you get home you find out all these little wonderful things that you didn't even know about in the first place.

Gotta love the Disboards!!

disneyaddicted-Mom's rule!! The coast guard will be a pretty exciting job. Does he have an area that he wants to work? I just want to turn the clock back to when they were little and start over (minus the dirty diapers, midnight feedings, colic,) o.k. maybe back to like 7!! Oh, and without the ex, he can go too! If I'm doing this, might as well do it right!!

dreagirl-I know it is so cliche' to hear, "it goes so fast", but it really does. Oh, and save every little thing she does. Awards, poems, pictures. I have a lot of this saved from the boys, they don't know about it. When it comes time for their graduation party, I'm going to hang it all up.

Yep, got the yellow crocs. They are a real pretty pale color. My husband didn't even try to like them, just the dutch girl comment!! I wish they were just a little more narrow so they didn't look like wooden shoes!!

Definitely make a list. I have a list for everything. Wow, I wouldn't survive without my lists! But then, I need a list to find my list!!

You know, I rambled on about how life goes so fast?

Why does it seem like it takes forever to get to Friday? Geesh! It's been a really long week!

Yap! I priced out Cedar Point, the whole entire budget was getting costly, close to Disney. Hotel Prices there killed my budget, I am spoiled I like a clean Hotel, I don't care what it costs. When the budget was complete, I said lets spend our money at Disney. That was that. I still would love to try Cedar point.

ILMickey - DH didn't get picked for the Moose lottery. He was a little disappointed. He did get his Birthday present, (he picked it out) a Bow. A nice one, Matthews, it was not cheap. He has been target shooting in the backyard.

I think they cost so much because it's the only thing around this area. Plus, they are the Coaster capital of the World, doncha know??? I guess that gives them the right!!

Here's a little tip!

We were in Disney the second week in December 2005. Low and behold EVERYTHING with a 2005 on it was half off!! It was absolute heaven. I think I bought something for everyone I knew.

Little story:: Takes place after shopping at MouseGear.

We had just had lunch at the Electric Umbrella and headed over to Innoventions. We were playing Who Wants to be a Millionaire when I noticed Fred didn't have the bag of all my loot!!

I MAY have freaked out!!

Fred went back to the EU (he was the one in charge of the bag).

I'm sweating!

I was so happy to see him coming back, only to find out he didn't find the bag, it was gone:eek: !

Me-"it wasn't there?"
Fred-"No"
Me-"did you ask someone if they turned it in?"

Here's a little tip!

We were in Disney the second week in December 2005. Low and behold EVERYTHING with a 2005 on it was half off!! It was absolute heaven. I think I bought something for everyone I knew.

Thanks for the tip :thumbsup2

We were able to get some items half off that promoted "Happiest Celebration on Earth" so I'm hoping to get some "Year of A Million Dreams" stuff this time around!!

We were playing Who Wants to be a Millionaire when I noticed Fred didn't have the bag of all my loot!!

:scared1: OMGosh

Holy crap!!

I was almost on the verge of going to page 3:scared1: !!

Thought I'd better say somethin'.

Back in February I put in for some vacation time. A week in November and the 5th and 6th of July.

A little "me" time.

So, I have been waiting and waiting since Easter for my 5 day vacation. Gonna do a little yard saling, get a little browner in the pool, sleep in and watch Regis and Kelly!!

"Me" time!!

I am sure most of you can figure where this is going. I'm a mom, there ain't no me time!!

The weekend prior Sports baseball coach informs us he has a tournament, starting the 5th of July.

Are you Freaking kidding me???

I also have a family cookout planned for Saturday night, 5:00. If you know about tournaments, you know there is no set time for anything. Depends on whether you win or lose.

Sooooooo, the 5th there's a game at 5:00 and 9:00. My jaw is still a little sore from hitting the ground on the 9:00 time.

That's P.M. folks!!

I am thinking it must have been my motherly instincts that took over in February to ask for those very same vacation days!!

Well, the team won both those games, so no more tournament until Saturday. Woooohoooooo!!

NOT SO FAST!!

He has a regular scheduled game Friday evening.

Regular means double headers, 5 innings each. Mind you I still have a cookout planned. Tater salad, pasta salad and fixin's to make, house to clean.

Yeah right!!

Friday- get up run to the store.
come home, make salads, power clean
run out of state to pick up fireworks.

OT-on the way home from picking up said fireworks (Sport just had to have these) he asks
"mom, if we get pulled over, would you tell the cop you had fireworks in here?"
(illegal in Michigan)
Me "PULLED OVER?" We are not getting pulled over, we are going to pull a Dukes of Hazard type thing. Fields and all."
So I start swerving a bit, driving a little fast. Just to freak him out a bit.

Just kidding!

We made it home just fine.

Time for ANOTHER baseball game!! Yaaaaaay! No, I really love baseball, and I love watching my son play even more.

I'm the loud mom, you know which one I'm talking about. Sport is competing on the field, I'm competing to see if I'm the loudest mom!!

I am!!

Pretty sure. Ask Fred. I sit near the dugout, he sits in center field.

After the game, we still have some last minute party shopping to do.
Walmart baybeee!

11:00-11:30-finally get to bed.

Up at 6:30-be at field by 8:15 for 9:00 game. Lost.

Next game at 11:00, if they lose this one, they play again at 5:00:scared1: !

5:00-did I mention I was having a party at 5:00?????????????

They lost! Oh great.

Fred was going to have to man the ship. I went home between games to get everything ready for him. All he would have to do is grill and get things out of the fridge.

Easy enough right??

You'd think.

We go to the game, he lost. He is done, won't have to come back Sunday. I have really mixed feeling about this.
1. It was stinking hot, oh my gosh!! Gonna be hotter Sunday!
2. Hadn't really had any time to myself.
3. I love watching him play baseball. He is very good and I am so proud of him. I NEVER miss a game.

But it was done. Over.

It is now 7:00. Food should be grilled, happy full guests sitting around in lawn chairs.

NOT!!

He had just started grilling. So I'm taking things out of the fridge frantically trying to get everything set out so they can start eating as he takes food of the grill.

At this time I am wishing it was a partaaaay, not a party. A couple beers would have been real nice.

Oh, well, it got done. Eventually everyone was full and happy, I think!

So, weekend over. Sunday came. My only day for ME! I wanted to lay in the pool all day.

No dice. Had a pretty decent sunburn from the day before. 2nd choice. Lay on the couch and watch stupid movies all day. Laundry on commercials.

Have you seen the movie "Ricky Bobby"? Stupid, stupid, stupid. Who writes this stuff?? I am so glad I didn't pay money to see it.

Anyway, districts start tomorrow. 9:00 A.M. Have to work people!! Think!!

Guess who's not going to work???

So, once again the weekend is all planned out for me. BASEBALL!! Don't know what time, but I will be there.

Last year they came real close to winning. This would have meant a mad dash to Minnesota for regionals.

So, if they win, guess where I will be next week!

Better get back to work now. This is the only time I have to catch up with all of you.

Did you see the All Star game last night?? Yaaaaay AL. WooHoo for Ichiro!

Take care!!

Hey! You're reading my report so I hopped over to read yours! Great pre-trippie so far! You guys are going to have a great time, even if it is "interesting." We went last May with my brother and my boyfriend's (Lumar!) brother...Interesting doesn't even BEGIN to describe that trip. Lumar's brother was NOT invited to join us in October... He was such a PITA the whole time that I ended up screaming (and I do mean SCREAMING) at him two days before the trip was over. It was horrible..and what makes it worse is that Lumar and I paid for his entire trip: hotel, airfare, meals, souvenirs, etc. I refused to talk to him for months after that.

In other news, I buy tradeable pins on ebay all the time! I just bought 12 picns for $1.84 each, and that included s & h! Pins in the parks start at, what $6.95? Or are the more now? Plus tax!! HA! Save the money!

Ugh! I remember baseball days. My brother was HUGE into little league and my dad was the coach. My mom went to every game and I was very rarely allowed to stay home by myself. The difference between you and me though is that I hate baseball...it is the most boring thing in the world to watch! Give me football any day!

Anyhoo I'll be waiting for more! :surfweb:

BTW I am sorry to hear that your didn't get your "me" time. I'm not even a mom and I never get "me" time either. I take a day off from work and I end up running around like a lunatic doing stuff for other people all day.

Oh and you gals are all too nice, letting your men pick the restaurants you eat at on your trips! I pick out all the restaurants I want to eat at and then let him decide which ones we actually go to...that way he doesn't pick somewhere I don't like. And he will DEFINITELY remember what he picked! He has the greatest memory of anybody I know when it comes to stuff like this....Now when I say "don't forget to call ______" it's another story.

Wow, why didn't you just leave him there? Or at least ditch him? I would have been furious too.

DON'T LIKE BASEBALL?? That's alright.

I guess!

Good job on the pins! I have some that I bought years ago. They are little mini flags of each country. I have 3 or 4 sets. I have seriously thought about selling them on Ebay. They are really neat. I don't know if I want to part with them, you just never know when you might need a pin of a certain country.

Blue-Oh I so can't wait for my vacation. It's coming, but not quite fast enough. Only bad part about wishing it here sooner is the fact that it will be winter again. Man, I hate winter.

Yours is coming real soon! I am sooo excited for you. I love it that the girls are so excited. My guys are like "yeah, o.k., whatever"!!

UPDATE: We arrived this morning at 8:15 for the game. Practice, warm up. Nobody was there.
Me-"are you sure it is here"
Sport-"I'm pretty sure"
Me-"are you sure it is at 9:00?"
Sport-"I'm pretty sure"
 -not happy!!

Turns out the coach didn't call EVERYONE on his list to tell us it was postponed until Friday, 11:15. Took the morning off work for nothing. So, I will be missing the game. I'm pretty crushed.

Oh, well, what do you do??

Alligators!!!!! maybe????? I thought it was because the park was from natural water not chlorinated and Disney could not keep the water clean or uncontaminated. I could be wrong though. I went to River Country in '81 and we went on our honeymoon in '94, so it stayed open for many years before closing.

Our2Girls&Disney

Ok you guys peaked my curiosity. This is what I found on the web.

Several possible reasons for the park's closing have been suggested by fans. One is that there wasn't a need for this park due to the other two larger water parks on Disney property (which had more slides) and increased competition from other water parks in the area. Another is that bacteria from Bay Lake was reportedly contaminating River Country's water. Yet another is that this water park's lake was unheated, and was very cold outside the summer months. Though river Country had always drawn large crowds, it's location (in the interior of Fort Wilderness) made it very difficult for both motorists and Disney Transport to reach the site.

Thanks for checkin that out. You know, I will bet it's the last one. I remember a VERY long ride to the middle of nowhere on a bus. Of all the trips I have taken there, that is the only water park we have ever been to. I don't really remember why that was.

Oh, I'm just learning as I go. Or maybe it was all the crap I pulled on my poor mother. I know the things she should have done to me.

Mozart got his license last week. I cried on the way home, I just hate not having this control anymore. How will I know he is safe? The first night he got his plates, he wanted to go by himself to town. :scared1: Then things got a little clearer for me.

Is your room clean? Dog fed? Dog watered? My feet rubbed? My bath drawn?

See where this is going??

I am the almighty MOM! I have the POWER!!

I might get away with it for a few more days, but then I think the gigs up!

He has been driving back and forth to work, and has went to some of his friends house. Last night, I was making dinner when Sport reminded me he had weightlifting for Football.

Oh, baseballs done-new season!!!

Normally I would shut everything off or have Mozart watch it. This time was different. Mozart says "mom, do you want me to take him?"

Hmmmmmmm! Heck YEAH!! (heck is a bit milder)

I am likin this!!

He can only go 20 mph in a 55 when they are together in the car. If he is alone, he may go 40.

I totally freak out when they leave together. One time, it only takes one time.

It will get better right???????????

I am on the verge of buying our tickets. It's just so hard to part with that much money:scared1: ! I had a friend that went for a weekend and bought a 1 day park hopper. Said he paid 119$!!!!! That's almost criminal.

We are getting a 7 day park hopper. That equals to about $36 per day. I like that a whole lot better.

I really have everything I need. Camera, camcorder, batteries and my pink bagallini. I paid over $30 for the bag then found almost the exact thing in a magazine for $10. That hurt.

Right now I am in the money making stage of the preplanning. I've sold a couple things on Ebay.

I had some park maps and a couple disney dollars from 1996, made a nice little profit on those.

We also make and sell crafts. Fred cuts the wood and I paint it. So, between work and that, I'm pretty busy.

I have about a year to go before I need to start worrying about Jimmy driving, I have to say, he is a good driver on these back country roads, it's the going into town part he has to learn and that's going to have me worried, but then again, like with you, my Taxi days will become a little lighter, so far that is the only upside!!!

Yay! you got your tickets. It's more real now huh? I have everything purchased except for my airfare and MVMCP, we keep putting it off, shop needs new screens, we're out of emulsion, light table bit the dust...it all adds up and takes away my Disney Dollars, but we are going next week to get those, no more putting it off!!!!

I like your idea of selling things on e-bay, too cool!

I do have pictures. I will get them scanned and posted. We usually start them around October and make enough to pay for Christmas. I decided if we started a bit earlier, we'd have fatter wallets for disney!!!:woohoo: Momma likes her money!

You still have plenty of time!! :goodvibes
I know, I know. The money part of it is very happy about that. The "I really need a vacation" isn't.

I wanna go NOW!!! Yesterday they had Disney on the Travel Channel for about 4 hours! Woohoo! I was lovin life. They had one program-Undiscovered Disney. It talked about all the extras you can do. Did you know you can take surfin lessons at Typhoon Lagoon. I thought this would be awesome for the boys to do. I'm checkin into it today. What a nice surprise that would be for them.

It does seem real. I love checking my ticker every day! We're getting there!! Thank god I have you guys to talk to about it. The eye rolling is getting out of hand!!! I really think people are getting sick of me talking about it!

It always seems like there is something. Thats why I didn't wait to buy the tickets any longer. I knew something would happen and I wouldn't be able to.

You could probably make a fortune on Ebay from Reeses old clothes. You wouldn't believe what stuff goes for. I figure I'm going to sell until my family comes home and everthing is gone.

Of all the restaurants we picked, that is the one I am most excited about. We are TOTAL meat eaters. Especially if it's grilled. I also can't wait to see the water pageant. That's another thing on my list of things I haven't ever did.
I am hoping my 5:50 ressie will be about right to see the pageant and the fireworks. It will get darker earlier then, so I don't know.

Now I've never been to Ohanas, so I'm sorry if you don't like it!

Road Trip!!!!!!

I am trying to make the plan (in my head). It never really goes just as planned. Some force of nature has it's hand in my Disney cookie jar,:confused3 whaddya do??

The boys get out of school at 2:30-home by 2:45. Can we please be on the road by 3:30???

We are taking a different route this time~~through Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. I can't seem to remember if Virginia was in there or not.

Guess I better double check that.

I really want to drive right through the night.
Coffee!!

Lot's and lot's of coffee.

Or in Fred's case~~Mountain Dew....The syrup from Hell!!

We can take turns driving, if he lets me.

OT-Fred bought a new truck this year. It's a nice one-Dodge Ram 1500..Mega Cab!

I have driven it once!
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d635b3127cceb909845707fc00000046100BcsWbZyybMY
If I was the one driving it--this would have never happened!

Back to the road trip!
If we can make it, we should be at the Florida border by 6:30. That's 15 hours. Another 3 to get to Daytona.

Mind you-this is going to be Thanksgiving Day. Hopefully something will be open to eat.

Or it's burritos from the Gas~n~Go!!

We have plenty of stuff to do on the road. DVD players, CD players, Nintendo DS, Playstation Portable.

I'm sure the boys will find other ways to amuse themselves--
Are we there yet??? Hee Hee Hee!
Mom, he's touching me! Hee Hee Hee
He's farting!
Will you tell him to stop making that noise!

I did find a way to fix their little red wagon though!

We went out of town school shopping last weekend. It was about a 2 hour drive. They started the crap. I found a country station and cranked it. I was trying to sing to it (I didn't know a word). The louder they got, the louder I got.

I think it worked. I didn't have to say "don't make me pull this car over", I said "don't make me turn it to country"

Everybody asks us why on earth do we drive???

I love it. It adds to the adventure. We get to see parts of the country we have never seen. It also builds us up for the vacation. We talk about things that just don't come up in normal conversations. I think it adds to the memories.

I've done that drive many a time. I live in southern Ohio. Down through Charleston, WV, right? You are in Virginia, but only for an hour. West Virginia is an absolute BEAR! The speed limit is 70mph which would be great if it wasn't so curvy & hilly you think you'll fall off a cliff at 70. Other than that, it is a nice, beautiful, easy drive. We're flying this time as my girl's want to fly & it wasn't too much $, but we enjoy the drive. It takes 14 hours from here to Orlando. We've done it at least a dozen times.

I do believe it is Charleston. I was a little worried about WV. I HATE HATE HATE the mountains. Heights scare the bejeebers out of me.

Even the Highway has winding, curvy hills?????:scared1:

O.K. I can work with this. I will put one of the boys up front with Fred. I will then place my head between my legs and pray. WV can't be more than 3 hours right???

You should see me when we go across the Mackinaw bridge. I am a WRECK! I always get in the back seat--like that will save me???

We went through NC once on the way. I liked those mountains. We were on the bottom. It was curvy, but we were still ON THE BOTTOM!

Any little special places on the way we should stop at? I like new and interesting stuff!

Don't say the Applacian's Highest Peak overlook either!!!!

There is a little plac called Tamarack in WV that they advertise on the highway. It really is like a gigantic, nice truck stop but it has local crafters selling their wares inside. My in-laws love it. And yes, it is about 3 hours through WV. I wish I could reassure you but... it really is a hard state. And I ALWAYS seem to be driving when we get there. We're only 1.5 hours north of Charleston, WV and no matter where we want to go on the east coast, it is fastest to drive through WV. It is truly gorgeous. But the state motto is Wild & Wonderful West Virginia. That gives you an idea.

Then you'll get to Virginia. Pretty much there is nothing to eat, no gas, and no where to pee in Virginia. Be warned.

The rest of the trip is great. Even around the big cities traffic isn't too exciting. If you want to do something interesting & have time, we like to sleep near Savannah one night. It's just a fabulous inner city to have dinner. Richmond Hill generally has cheap non-scary places to sleep. Or we'll pop into the beach for a little 1/2 hour walk just to stretch our legs because the Atlantic is right there for quite a bit of Georgia & Florida.

We've even taken just an hour break & driven onto Daytona Beach, kicked around in the sand, and then gone onto WDW.

Awww, this is making me wish we were driving. I love road trips.

Soooooo, after driving 18 hours through scary mountains (thanks for the info esterhead) we arrive in Daytona!!

Woohoo, the ocean!

I'm sure everything will be dead this day, it's THANKSGIVING!! First we will check into the motel. (don't have a clue where yet!). Then I want to go sleep in the sun for a few hours.

It is, of course, going to be sunny, 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.

After a nice long nap in the Florida sun, I'm hoping to find a nice place that will serve me some turkey and fixins'.

Any ideas???

After our bellys are full we plan to drive around and see some sights.

Then maybe a walk/drive on the beach.

Then bed.

NEXT DAY~~~~

Wake up to see the sun rise!:lmao: :rotfl2: ! Yah, who am I kidding???

I really want to take the boys parasailing today. I have found only 1 website. You'd think being a huge tourist town on the beach, there would be more than 1 place!!

If and/or when we are done with that I want to go to the Daytona Harley Store! Have you ever seen this place, it's HUGE!

I think the guys want to go to Daytona USA. Oh Yaaaay! (I hope you note the sarcasm). We went on our honeymoon and I thought it was quite boring.

I am thinking I am going to take them to Hooters right across the street. Another one I am SURE I will enjoy.

Hey Esterhead! I just wanted to say I love your name! My maiden name is Head.

Yes, really!! I'm still in therapy!

How did you come up with your name???

Really? Your maiden name is Head? It was a nickname my brother-in-law gave me years ago. I can't even remember why but we just went around adding the word "head" to the end of people's names in these silly voices. I think it was from a B-movie. Mine was the only one that really sounded good with it so it stuck. I still get called it from time to time.

I love my name. I've always thought it was nice to have an old-fashioned name that didn't sound old. It's making a bit of a come back so I'm no longer the only one I know but for a really long time it was my name & mine alone.

Hello,Hello,Hello,Hello,Hello,Hello,Hello!!!!!!

Is anybody there???

Oh, well, on with the plans!

I am hoping to time it right for check in at the Pop! We haven't ever stayed here before. I am going to fax a letter to them asking for a room in the 60's building (something about the hippy dippy pool that I like:hippie: ). Any great room number suggestions???

After we check in I think we will be ready for a little pool time or a nap. I want to be all rested up for the week ahead. Don't want no complainin'!

After we are done with that, I want to go get lost. Actually we have to get lost a few times before we really know where we are going. Then we just act like we know what we are doing and get lost again.

Usually there is profanity!

A lot of profanity.

Of course not from me!

It's from the people I cut off switching lanes. ( where is that flippin you off smiley??)

I just love driving around the first evening we are there. Gets the Disney pumpin in the blood.

Lot's of "ooooooooh's" and "look at that"!

Then the norm is to end up at downtown disney. Foreplay for the parks!! Do a little window shopping, put Fred on the train!

He's never rode it!

I am dying to eat a the Earl of Sandwich. I check out the food porn thread a lot and those sandwiches look WONDERFUL!

OT-2 weeks ago I went to Quiznos for the first time. If you have never been~go! I was so stuffed, but I couldn't stop eating it. They were soooooooo good! Best sandwich I've ever had!

After we are doing what ever it is we are doing I want to get back to Pop for an early night. I have never been to a park opening (honestly did not know this event exhisted!) I guess I always thought the park opened when I got there:lmao: !

Guess which one we are going to first~~~~~~~~~~

Getting lost is such a novel idea. I can never handle the stress of such events & therefore must be a psycho with the map.

You know the scene at the end of the Incredibles where they are fighting about Uptown & Downtown & exits & they end up at the perfect spot with screeching tires? That's us!

I agree with you about the incredibles thing.

Wow, 9 days!! Can I trade tickers with you??? I need my vacation so bad right now. I get to go camping over Labor Day weekend so I guess we can count that as a mini~vacation!

Hey while you are down there, you can put up signs along the side of the road that say "hey Ilmickey, your going the wrong way" That would be very helpful to me!!

I need to get over to your pretrippie and see what's going on with you!!

See you there!

Oh dear, I have to disappoint you. There is no STINKIN' way I'm trading tickers! And the signs, that'd just be too much stress cause you'd be tellin' your swearing family: "Well there's this girl & it's all HER fault!"

Wait a minute. Maybe that's a good idea. You should just blame everything on me. They don't know where I live & then you'll be left alone for the whole trip. So on second thought... I'm adding poster board & stakes to my packing list! Ha!

That's neat! I like your name too. I noticed there were a lot of old fashioned names coming around again. Lillian is a big one.

I was Nikki Head! Some days I still get picked on from people that know that bit of information.

Don't feel bad...my last name (hopefully sometime in the near future it will be my maiden name...) is Toronto...yes, like the city in Canada. And if one more twit asks me if I'm Canadian (not that there is anything wrong with being Canadian, eh?) I'm going to cause them severe bodily harm. You don't ask people whose last name is West if they are "from the West", or people whose last name is Santiago if they are Chile...

Anyhoo, and my grandmothers name was Lillian and I absolutely LOVE that name...I was thinking (if I have a daughter) of calling her Lilliana, but The Lumar (like has he room to talk) doesn't like that name, so for now we have decided on Olivia...and the funniest part is that we are not even expecting at this point in time! :rotfl:

oh an PS: You can not trade countdown tickers with me either! (not that you have all that much longer to go than I do!)

That's what I keep saying! I'm sorry, but after 9 months of carrying that thing around and then hours of labor, working to push something the size of a watermelon out of a hole the size of a lemon, women should automatically be given the right to call the kid whatever they want (although there are some exceptions such as those people who want to name their child "@" give me a break. CAN'T YOU JUST BE NORMAL!!! Think of your child's mental health!
And yes, I thought about Olivia Lilliana but here's the next problem (and let's all remember that Lumar is a HUGE crybaby), his last name is Rivera and he's already crying about Olivi-AH River-AH. I'm not that mean that I would make it a triple whammy. The poor guy is already depressed that I have predetermined that we are having a girl.....:sad2:

Just now came across your pretrip... Loving it.. Try a road trip with 5 kids ages 11months -20 years.... That's why I love traveling in the middle of the night. Eventually they go to sleep....

We tend to drive back during the day... WHY I DONT KNOW... but we drive down at night.. Then crash and burn when we get there.

And by the way I love OHANA.. It's good for breakfast too, but dinner is the best. If you get a table by the windows in Ohana you can see the fireworks and water pageant but you would have to make your ADR a little later for that and then gamble on getting the right table. But if you get down towards the beach early enough you can get one of the table close to the beach and see the fireworks great. Check my trip report, that is what we did and I have pics and video of fireworks from there.

Mine was awful. I don't have a garage, and it was raining until about 1:30. I had put an ad in the paper so all these people were pulling in the driveway, noticing there wasn't anything out, then left. Never coming back. I made $13, the add was $20.

Sorry about the sunburn! 2 months of peeling? It must have been bad. Ouch.

Hopefully we make it there before we crash and burn too. I don't like the idea of crashing and burning before we get there!! Yikes!

I didn't realize that it's been forever since I visited your trip report, I had to go back a couple of pages just to catch up, so I will start with the drive.
I think the route you're taking is the same one I took when I moved from Mi. to Norfolk Va. and I was completely freaked out driving through the mountains.
My DH never lets me help with the driving, he too has a dent in the bed of his new truck, now I can't say that would not have happened had it been me driving as I have totaled a vehicle or 2 in my time, I do say in my defense, that wall jumped out in front of me.

I am so looking forward to flying, I get so tired of driving everywhere. Ya know, you could take the scenic route through Pa and stop off in Brogueville, for a country Pennsylvania Dutch home cooked Thanksgiving dinner prepared by none other than NOT ME! Kent is the cook, I thank him most sarcasticly everyday for the major weight gain over the past 13 years. I'll set a place out for you all just incase.

So your maiden name was Head? I can picture the jokes from that one. My maiden name was Sanford. I was called Fred alot and couldn't walk into a classroom without someone whistling, humming, and even beat boxing the theme from Sanford and son.

My husband is 40 (cough cough) something. He and all his buddies call each other head. There is very little in life more embarrassing than being in the mall or at the lake and hearing (from very far away, mind you) "HEY! HEAD!"

Who?
Who are you?? Name sounds familiar!

I think the route you're taking is the same one I took when I moved from Mi. to Norfolk Va. and I was completely freaked out driving through the mountains.
I have real serious issues with heights. Panic attacks. It's not pretty. Specially when I'm driving. Spiders too! I was driving down the road and noticed this spider crawling on my dashboard. I hit the skids, put it in park and jumped out. My passenger, who had no idea what the heck was wrong, freaked out and jumped out too! I think he thought the car was on fire or something!!

It was kind of funny afterwards.

But not at the time! He was coming after me.

Seriously!
My DH never lets me help with the driving, he too has a dent in the bed of his new truck, now I can't say that would not have happened had it been me driving as I have totaled a vehicle or 2 in my time, I do say in my defense, that wall jumped out in front of me.

We go to a pretty local campground. It was about 40 minutes from our house and 5 minutes for Fred to drive to work. We can't ever go on a real vacation in the summer because he owns a lawn and landscaping business, his boss won't let him take the time off! :confused3 He can just go back and forth from there.

We got up early Friday morning (I took the day off). Sport had practice at 7:30 a.m. ON MY DAY OFF! But o.k. this will give me time to go back home, shower and shave.

My legs.

Got myself all smelling pretty for the mosquitoes, got the car packed with the tents, sleeping bags and pillows and Mozart and I were on our way.

Stopped to get Sport from practice first. Gosh he needs a haircut. I swear his hair looks like a helmet. He shaved it at the start of summer so it all kind of grew out the same length.

We got to the campground around 11:00. NO ONE was there. It was pretty empty back in the primitive part. I like! So we got the tents out and erected our homes for the next 3 nights!

This was only round 1 though. See I have a Jeep Liberty, they aren't real big. We have a lot of camping stuff.

So off we go again.

Shopping.

For Vittles.

125 dollars later. Yes, 125 dollars. I KNOW! I DON'T SPEND THAT MUCH IN A WEEK on groceries.

Must have been the smore stuff???

Since we had no more money for gas, we pushed the car home! (I made that part up)

Loaded up the coolers, camping junk, wardrobe (do you believe I took 3 pairs of shoes?? You never know) and we were on the road again.

Sport took a friend with him. This is a good thing. I didn't hear one "I'm Bored" the whole weekend. Mozart will find a friend to hang out with.

We stopped to get the friend. I haven't ever met him before so I was hoping for the best. Sport has some real bad influences that he hangs out with, just ask the cop that came to my house this summer to tell me my son and his "influence" just broke some windows on a house! NICE!

But this friend was a really good kid. Not one problem all weekend! Cept he couldn't catch a fish. And he wouldn't drink beer.

KIDDING!

He had a couple.

KIDDING! Geez.

We got back to the campground around 5:00. There were more people back in primitive.

Side note: I hate the word Primitive. I am not a cave person. I eat with forks(plastic). I do not CRAP in the woods. Why do they call it PRIMITIVE??

The boys all took off, it was nice. I watched these people that were next to us try to park the pop-up camper. That was fun. Mom was standing there telling dad she didn't like it there. He'd drive around the park, come up through a different set of trees and park a little different.

Well, she didn't like that either. This must have went on for at least 10 times around the park.

What a man!! Pleasin his woman like that.

Must be engaged! Or he just really really loves her. I'm thinkin Fred would have jumped out of the truck and told me to park the _____ thing where I wanted it!!

Anyway, the teenage boys and dad eventually pushed it by hand to where mom wanted it.

All was well in primitive!!

For now.

Here are some pictures of home!

My "facilities" for 3 days. See, primitive suggests there is nothing to use cept the great outdoors. I have proof.

Actually this port o potty wasn't that bad. There was this guy that came around a couple times a day to check it, clean it up and load it back up with toilet paper. First I will comment on your comment.

I have a lock on my bedroom door, so I am fine with you showing up while I am sleeping... seriously, I would get up and at least say hi, (and make sure you don't take the silverware, even if it is plastic)

Your camping trip looked fun. I haven't camped in a tent in ages. (back yard doesn't count) I wanted to go camping, that's why I bought a big ole tent, then DH says, "why camp in a tent when we have a cabin?" and it's funny, cause when I did tent camp, I would always be envious of the cabin campers. I guess that saying is true, "the grass is greener on the other side of the porto potty."

So your kid broke some windows? Jim shot out a windshield in the neighbors car about 3 years ago, Had to pay for it and the stupid tarp he had covering it, couldn't he just patch it? He was a sue happy man, that's how he makes his living, so I paid the bill without question in order to save money on a lawyer and court fees down the road.

So did you write on the port o potty walls "Roxie Leatherthong was here." ?

That's funny, I have a lock on my door too! I wonder if it is for the same reason I do???
I would only try to take it if it is the clear, more expensive kind. I don't do the solid white!

, "why camp in a tent when we have a cabin?"
BECAUSE IT IS A TENT!!!
Tents rule! Unless it is really hot, then might as well be inside a plastic bag. Fred was talking about buying an RV or trailer or whatever you call em. I am absolutely AGAINST it. I really do love sleeping in a tent, especially when it rains. SOOOOOOOO relaxing. Aaaaaaaaah, I can hear it now!

BOYS!! This kid will be the death of me! Oh and he didn't get to play last night either. I e-mailed the varsity coach today and he is going to talk to the JV coach. Something better get done or as soon as he can drive, he can switch schools. Mom approved!! I have had it.

I'm just going to go ahead and post the rest of the pictures. Really it was an uneventful weekend. Just really relaxing.

Oh, cept one night I was walking back from the showers. It was dark. I swear I walked into the biggest cloud of pot smoke! I felt like I was in a Cheech and Chong movie.

I floated back to the campsite and ate all the smores!

Kidding.

About the floating.

and the smores!

I'm just going to tell the little funny things that happened. Cause I can't remember everything.

Purple haze and all.

Mozart and I were just hanging around the campsite when he decided he is going to split some wood!

Has he ever split wood before you asked??

NO!

I am like "lord, please don't leave the 2 of us stranded somewhere I might have to rely on him to save me!"

Now a funny little Sport story.

I did not realize that this kid expects nothing short of complete silence when he sleeps. A couple weeks ago he was complaining about the crickets outside his window.:confused3 What am I supposed to do? They are crickets. Again:confused3 .

The first night our neighbors, or that is what Mozart calls them. I call them people-that-are-camping-next-to-us!

Anyway the neighbors were quite noisey. I swear in my sleep I heard Mozart yelling at them to "shut up! There are people that would like to sleep"

Next morning the "mom" neighbor apologizes for keeping us up!! I asked Sport if he heard Mozart yelling. He says no. He was the one yelling!

It wasn't in my sleep!! These people had to walk by us everytime they used the port-a-pottie! I wanted to crawl under the picnic table.

Here is my pride and joy!

Then we went home~~

Awww!! I miss camping so much!! I used to go quite often when I was younger and it was so much fun! A few years ago I actually went with my brother and my sister for a weekend....it was the most incredibly boring trip of our lives but we laugh about it now. Imagine this:

I was approx 20 years old which would have made my sister about 18, and my brother about 16. We have never set up a tent by ourselves, and we have never made our own campfire. We arrive the day after a big rain storm so the ground is soggy and all of the "firewood" is practically useless. It takes us 2 hours to set up the tent (my brother cracks me up talking about how all the woodland animals were gathering around us with their mouths open, staring in disbelief at the retarded humans). We finally set that up and decide we want to build our first fire. We all spread out looking for useable fire making material... everything is wet. So we do what any normal teenagers would do...start throwing paper in there! That didn't work very well, and I was THISCLOSE to pouring nail-polish remover in there and light that...but I'm not that stupid so I got in the car and drove a few miles down the road to the Country Store (seriously, that's what it was called) and bought a bag of charcoal. We lit that along with branches and other stuff we found lying around that was mostly dry and had a pretty good fire going for a little while. Did I mention that while at the Country Store I also bought a bag of ice for our cooler, 2 boxes of Cocoa Pebbles, and a gallon of milk? That is what we ate for the whole weekend, pretty much. Oh, and we played Monopoly and Uno all weekend. And my brother made fun of the early morning runners/joggers by hiding in the woods and singing "Eye of the Tiger" as they ran by. It was actually very entertaining... those were the days...... Oh and I must take this moment to gloat because even though there were gross and disgusting spiders in our bathroom, we at least had flushing toilets and showers. :yay:

Awww!! I miss camping so much!!
You just have to go! We hadn't went since Memorial weekend of last year. It was so hot that weekend, hard to sleep, couldn't enjoy the campfire. I think that kind of burnt us out.

I prefer porta potties to spiders any day!!! We did have showers, just had to walk 10 miles up hill both ways to get to them!!

I loved the campfire pics! LOL @ the log splitting attempts (poor Mozart) and the dining plan! :lmao:

I wish my wife would go camping. My 6yo son really wants to go camping, so perhaps we'll talk her into it eventually...or just go without her.

And congrats on winning the tickets to the Tigers game!

BTW, I didn't realize there were crocodiles in Michigan.

randy4au-You just have to take him camping with or without your wife. He will LOVE it. I don't understand why some people have such a hangup about it. The only comforts of home we didn't have was a TV. There were showers and normal flushing toilets, you just had to walk to get to them. I think your little guy would love it.

You should have seen the look on my guys faces when I took the picture of the Hot Dog. I wanted to take pictures of everything we ate, but I didn't want them to think I had been visiting the "neighbors"!!

Yep, we have crocodiles all over Michigan.

Last year when we were camping my daughter stopped in for a meal and to visit. She kept asking what that noise was (it was bullfrogs). We told her they were wild boars. She was freak-ing out!! It was dark and she was worried about all the kids walking around, so when they would go by she'd tell them about the boars. They would just look at her, give her the "are you nuts" look and keep walking. My gut hurt so bad from laughing so hard. Poor girl! So naive!! Hee Hee!

I think Fred is finally starting to get his Disney groove on. He's been rather Bah Humbug about it all.

Ya know, vacation right in the middle of PRIME hunting.

How dare I?

BUT, last night he actually asked me how many days left until we leave.

"Wha? Are you being Sarcastic?"

He was serious. I think he needed to know how long he had to get his finances in order:confused3 . He's a procrastinator. One of those guys that waits until the morning of the holiday to get the present.

Of course I hadn't paid any attention to my ticker, so I wasn't 100% sure.
So I rattled off something that I thought was close. Right down to the hours!!

So now I'm getting more and more excited. 2 months will fly by, especially with all the after school events we have going now.

Speaking of that. Sport FINALLY got to play last night. Alot. Offense and Defense. He got a 75 yard kick off return touchdown!! I was snapping pictures as he was going, but they are so blurry cause I was shaking so bad.

I cried!

A little!

I was a very proud momma.

Last year he was scoring touchdowns left and right. This year, (new coach) he wasn't getting played. I spoke to the Varisity Coach about it and I think he talked to the JV coach.

I believe every kid who goes to practice every day and tries their hardest should play some of the time, no matter what!! You shouldn't have to make a million dollars a year for your child to play.

Anywhoo, rant over. Back to Disney!

Fred also changed our route. Sorry Ty, won't make Thanksgiving midnight snack!! Unless you want to meet us somewhere in N. Carolina?? We are taking 75. I told him about the winding mountains in W. Virginia. Don't think this appealed to him AT ALL!! So we will take the way we know best. 75. Until Tennessee, then through NC, SC and GA.

I told him that Blue's crew drove 26 hours all the way so there will be NO wussing out and taking a sleep break!! He'll need to tough it out and have me by the pool by noon!!

No, exeptions.

I am also working on my packing list. I copied and re-modified one from another thread. So I will be picking up little things as we go. I thought about getting one of those over the door hanging things, anyone have any insight on these??

I also bought this new zoom lense for my camera. It is Freak-in awesome! I can get the nose hairs on a guy 100 yards away.

Not that I want pictures of nose hairs.

I thought this would come in handy when I am spending the night in the castle. I am going to figure out how to open one of those beautiful windows and stick my head out of it after Fred escapes from the room to take my picture.

It could work.

Say cheese Princess Nikki!!!

Oh, before I go. If anyone is looking for a Tiara for their little princesses, go to Walmart, check out the party supply aisle by the cards. They have these tiaras that light up for 98 cents. I bought one for a birthday girl at work. It was neat. There are 3 lights in it and they flash.

Even if you don't have little princesses, go get one anyway!!!

I had a Canon EOS 35mm. I didn't ever try the different funtions because I didn't want to waste film.

You know, I am really not a coaster person anymore, but I intend (that is intend) to ride EE. I am even thinkin about RRC. Sometimes things just sound good and I get a wild hair up my butt and go for it!! I know Fred won't ride. He was freaking out on the little hill on The Pirates.

 Yay, sport got to play, now that the coach has seen what he can do, do you think he will be put in alot more?

I have to tell you. In the middle of the night, when the campground is tucked in their warm sleeping bags sleeping, and I have to pee. I will grab my toilet paper that I keep right next to the tent door and walk out in between our cars, squat and go. My worse fear isn't that someone will be walking around, it's the fact that any little woodland critter can walk right up and scare the bejeebers right out of me. Can you imagine waking up in the middle of the night hearing a crazy woman screaming??

Oh, and I have mastered not getting any on the shoes!! I know there has got to be some kind of award for that, because it is really hard to do!!

Goofy tried out for the soccer team, basketball, volleyball over the years in public school and never got picked. Poor little thing, she never gave up and every year she'd come home all disappointed that she didn't get picked. Meet my newest purchase!!

I don't know why that says exclusively at Boscovs~~I bought it at Elder Beerman.

29 inches of packing heaven ladies!!

You seriously could fit a small person in there.

I bought it Saturday, Sunday Fred asked why I didn't have it packed??? Well duh! "you havent given me a blank check to go shopping"

He seems to think he can fit his stuff in there too:lmao: !

Poor guy! Maybe his toothbrush!

Maybe.

I've been working hard on my Fall crafts, but am having absolutely no luck this year! That's been bumming me out.

I think we are going to move on to Christmas~~get a little head start. I seem to have better luck with that holiday. Apparently green and red catch the eye better than brown and orange??

Well, then that must be us. Or should I say Mozart. When we went last time he had 2 or 3 plastic bags of clothes. I was mortified. I was also happy we were at Old Key West. No lobbies to walk through and no bellman. So no one really seen them, but the maids.

See, I could do this. But I think Fred would be very scared. I'd have him looking all GQ, when he dresses like Farmers Illustrated!! I'd even throw in a couple PINK shirts. Hee Hee.

Oh and watch for bumps. Oooooh, take her across the bricks at the MK. That would make for a fun in the suitcase ride!!

What do you suppose the look on the guards face would be if you told him you were sleeping in the castle tonight:confused3 !

What do you suppose he would do?? I'm betting the look on his face would be priceless!!

I don't know why that says exclusively at Boscovs~~I bought it at Elder Beerman.

I bought it Saturday, Sunday Fred asked why I didn't have it packed??? Well duh! "you havent given me a blank check to go shopping" He seems to think he can fit his stuff in there too:lmao: ! Poor guy! Maybe his toothbrush! Maybe.

You know what's funny? When we bought our camcorder, the first picture I pulled off the web said "exclusively at somewhere" and I clearly bought it from circuit city. Nice luggage though! Mine is purple but only has like 26 inches of packing space... I got it at Target :) Lumar also seemed to think that he was putting all of his stuff in my suitcase... ***? I was like ehhh nooo! get your own! So we bought the whole set of purple luggage and he uses the small one the (the one that is about as tall as 4 year old). He does get to put his toothbrush in my suitcase though because I'm OCD or something and have to keep all of the personal hygene products together.

I've been working hard on my Fall crafts, but am having absolutely no luck this year! That's been bumming me out.
I think we are going to move on to Christmas~~get a little head start. I seem to have better luck with that holiday. Apparently green and red catch the eye better than brown and orange??

I have TOTALLY not been in the mood for crafting either! I usually make silk flower arrangements and sell them at the local craft fairs and I have not done ONE! I also brought all of my scrapbooking stuff to my step-mom's cuz we were going to scrap together one weekend...she finished her whole book and I didn't even finish a page! I am so not motivated! Clearly I need a Disney Trip to collect my thoughts and center myself!

Well, that's my latest update on the trip. Oh, I did get my packing list made along with my shopping list. O.k. that's all!

I made my packing list on Friday I think! I had it saved to to the computer and was planning to just reuse the one from last year, but it's so much fun to make a new one! That and I had to recreate one for Mike and Erika since they clearly don't need to pack the same crapola that Lumar and I do!

I say every year I am going to do a craft show or 2. I end up selling all my supply and can't do it. Well, since none of my Halloween/fall stuff is selling, I should have plenty next year!!

I was holding out!!

No, really I had nothing new.

We did do a money inventory this weekend, well I did. I counted all our "gas" change. We have been saving change to use strictly for gas.

And Woohoo, that's paid for!!

Then over the summer I have been picking up gift cards to fast food places. So the food for the road trip is done too!!

Sport was looking at our picture we had taken in front of the castle last time we went. He seems to think we need a really nice one this time. Then I started telling him about the photopass thing and he is totally going to be on a quest when we get there. THIS has me excited!

Sport has been really "iffy" about this trip. I think he doesn't want to come off too excited because that would give it away that he is still a kid. But now that he is making comments like that, I know he really wants to go.

My goal on this trip is to act as silly as possible and to get the grouchy men I live with to do the same. I want to laugh so hard our tummys ache, I want people to stare at us and say "WOW" what a happy family.

Oh, and I got a perm. Not a poodle perm, but it is curly. Cept for the part that is already coming out. I guess I need to go back. I just don't wanna sit there for 2 more hours just to get 3 more curlers in my hair!!

Well, there's my update. I am getting so antsy to go. I am back on the "is that all you talk about" kick!!

But, this time they are talking too!!

I was going to tell you that on your report, but decided to do it on mine because he hasn't visited here!! He wouldn't have ever known. Poor Linnie! I can just tell he is the kind of guy that will go around bragging that even people on the disboards dream about him!!:smooth:

And Buzz, if you are reading this. I also had a dream about Aussieangel, another disser.

I DID!!

I dreamed that her, her fiance and my family went on vacation together:confused3

I dunno. I have issues.

I just think I really really need this vacation in a bad way!! I told the boys I was going to drink around the world. Sport says I will be done after 1 beer. I don't drink much (their dad told them I was an alchoholic). I've always thought I needed to prove to them I wasn't, so, I just don't drink. I'm thinking he may be right. But I have scheduled myself to give it a try!!

I am putting together my lists of things I am going to do on certain days with ADR#'s and I'm going to laminate them. I really don't have anything else to do.

I guess I could start working my way up to 2 beers???

Hello all!!

Or, I mean the couple of you that come visit me!!

I do have an off-Disney update. Finally something exciting happened. And guess what~~I wasn't allowed to participate.

So my revenge is to tell the story~~all over the internet.

Sport wanted to have a b-day party at Hooters this year. He's been planning and planning. Had to invite his 2 bestest friends. One of the boys
mothers wasn't going to let him go.

She had morals!:headache:

I guess that implied I don't:confused3 !

Well must be he did enough begging, she let him go. She must have put her "morals" on the shelf for the day.

My daughter had called to find out what they do for birthdays. They told her they just stand him up on a chair and sing to him. We had to provide the cake-they didn't do that.

I was not invited to this birthday party. I dunno, fear of me embarassing him???

I wouldn't EVER do that!!! (insert devil smiley)

I get to stay home and watch TV while Fred takes the boys to Hooters. Really, not a bad deal. Peace and quiet for a few hours. (Hooters is 1 1/2 hour away)

Anyway, I get this call. Fred is laughing his head off. He is trying to say he has never seen anything so funny in his life.

They made sport stand up on a chair.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7ce29b3127ccebd3ec080ae6b00000025100BcsWbZyybMY
Then, they give him a couple cups. The cone shaped ones that you find at water coolers. They have him put them in his mouth.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7ce29b3127ccebd3ec1776f3400000025100BcsWbZyybMY
Notice the menus in his hands! Can you guess what they were for?? If you said they were used as wings while Sport flapped them like a bird, You would be correct.

I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!

He had a really great time. I was pretty bummed that he didn't want me to come, but that's alright.

I'll be fine.:sad1:

Someday.

Oh, and the morally perfect mother~~well she was 45 minutes late picking up her child. Not even a phone call.

Those that live in glass houses, should NOT through stones!

Oh, while they were gone I was digging in the home video box we have. I found a VHS tape from 1990 of a trip to Disney World.

I was so excited when I found we had taped Horizons and the old GM ride. I wish I could figure out how to transfer it onto a DVD. I would love to download it and show it to all of you.

It was pretty cool. They even had the skylifts going. I'm kind of glad those are gone. They looked like they ruined the castle pictures. Wow! That was 17 years ago. Man, where did the time go???

If anyone knows how or where I can have it put onto a DVD, let me know!!

The first dream I can't really remember, I just know there were alligators. The second one I had looked outside our picture window, there were 2 of them and they were just crawling around. Fred pulled in the drive way so I hollered out to him to watch out for the alligators.

That's all I remember. I think I was scared. Maybe?? I doubt if I was hungry. But it was in the middle of the night so I might have been.

Sorry you missed out on the B-day party at Hooters, but it looks like you have handled it like any left out mother would do.

Well, my friends, it's my turn.
I LOVE IT!!!

It's time to get serious though. I made my shopping list this morning (shhhhh, at work), now I gotta go get it. Time for the boys to start finding their electronic toys. Last I knew Sport had lost his Portable DVD player:scared1: !

I ask you, how does that happen?????????????

It's coming folks!!

We get ya! It's funny cause I was telling DH how i excited I was that you were leaving so soon. he said "so, it's not like you are going with her." I'm like CHA! it means a trip report is coming soon. and in a sense I will be there as she relives each moment in her report. The I gave him the catch phrase we use for when somebody has done or said something totally off the wall.
"WHAT IS YA? STUPID OR SUMTHIN?" Then he realized his huge mistake and sais "Yay, go ILMICKEY"

You are going to SO have him converted!! Thanks for being excited for me. I am getting really excited for me too!! Part of me is going "yeah right, you aren't really going there"! The other part is kicking the first parts butt!!

ok looking over you list here, i don't see gag, or pranks anywhere, no goofy glasses for ride pictures? no bubba teeth? C'mon here nikki, you said you wanted to have crazy fun. Bubba teeth says crazy fun, I bought mine months ago. What about whoopi cushions for those dark rides? serioulsy I have an image of you being all wild and fun, please do not shatter that image. I have been practicing for the past month getting the whoopi cushion to make different sounds. There is still time. go now and purchase your pranks!!!!!!
