So, I'm trying to complete a few of the $1 trials using my simon account. It has enough $$ on it!! This is the error that I keep getting:

We are unable to process your membership online at this time because the CVS/CVV2 code entered does not match the credit card on file. Your IP address has been captured. If you would like to complete this order offline, please call toll-free using one of the numbers below

What the heck? They aren't even asking me for that code, so I KNOW I'm not putting it in wrong?!?!

Thoughts?

Uh oh check your gift card balance you probably have $16 pending.

Most of those $1 offers do not take prepaid cards and will charge you $16 to verify your card. Good news is the charge will drop off in about 7 days bad news is you won't be able to use that money until then.

The same exact thing happened to me with at home rewards it said my code didn't match so I couldn't sign up. There was the 16 dollars though it has happened to quite a few of us.

If you tried to enter it again you might even be charged it twice.

Thanks for the heads up! I will remember this next time and skip those $1 buggers. :thumbsup2

Fortunately, they only charged me $1 to verify....so I won't have to worry about waiting for $16, just $3 (for all three that I tried....:sad2: ).

THANKS AGAIN!!!

Proceed as if you ARE a member. Because You probably ARE and just don't know it!!! Write down the date and be SURE to cancel before 7 days or whenever.

The message you got makes it look like your charge / membership didn't go through. This has happened to me several times ~ and my membership actually HAD gone through. If you call their phone number (automated system) you can find out for sure.

I did and got my membership number which I used to order some stuff. Then cancelled later.

Just never pay attention to that error message. I think they do that to throw you off ~ to cause you to think you don't have that 7-day time limit clicking away when you actually DO.

ALSO~ Now they're adding another little program to the first membership: Saving Smart (800-316-8774) ~or~ Your Saving Club (877-820-7107). Be sure to call and cancel them too.

Those are the ones that will not accept a prepaid debit card. I just used my reg credit card and canceled with no problems.

I called to speak with Value Max, and the supervisor there confirmed that there was no account associated with my name, phone number or credit card. He said if the charge actually does post to call back and they will reverse it, but that that shouldn't happen. The charge should just fall off and that will be that.

Funny though...not once did they ask me if I wanted to stay signed up?? Which is fine, but strange really.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on these accounts to make sure nothing else gets through, and I'll call the other two to verify as well.
