I voted for DL because I'd like to go to DL for a change but don't want to pay the points for a hotel stay. We need a DVC option there.

As far as DVC at WDW goes, I'd like Eagle Pines or Grand Floridian, my first choice for monorail DVC. Second monorail choice would be Poly. Actually, I'd really like it if they extended the monorail just slightly to include WL. I have never been a fan of the futuristic Contemporary. Looks like a huge concrete toaster! Obviously, many people love it because as I post this the Contemporary is in the lead.

But no matter where the next DVC is built, I will try it.

Voted for DL DVC as where I would like to see the next DVC project, but where would it go? However I suspect the CR construction (or some part of it) is next.

Eagle Pines is gone -- that area is being developed by Four Seasons. Assuming that it proceeds as announced.

A cruise line and Castaway Cay DVC are not likely in my view primarily because of cost for DCL, and logistical issues for Castaway Cay.

Unless they did a hotel conversion I am unsure where you could put a DVC at GF or the Poly. Could they reconfigure the TTC to get more room just off the Poly?

Another monorail resort might be possible -- probably along the Epcot extension.

There is plenty of Florida land yet to be developed if Disney has a mind to do so. I would love to see their latest master plan for that property.

Voted for California DVC. While the other WDW options are nice, a DL DVC would open a whole new vacation opportunity for us. Not that we couldn't go now, but we'd have to stay in a......REGULAR.....resort room!!:scared1:

I there are plenty WDW resoerts. I want a new option for non-WDW trips. I'm an east-coaster so went with my beach theme and choose Caribbean.

The long rumored Hawaii is also a thought but Caribbean would be easier to get to for us.

Well one thing interesting is that 65% of the votes are for monorail resorts (Contemp, Poly or other Monorail resorts). I think DVC needs to do something on the monrail. With all the apeal of Monorails, maybe they need to build more monorails.

Don't you think that expanding the Epcot line to stop at BW,BC, YC and MGM makes sense? It is not that much farther than it already goes.

I voted for Dl since 'i'm not likely to buy there but would love to be able to stay at a DVC resort. DL hotels take a lot of points. Don't want any more resorts that will tempt me to buy more points. Carribean would be way to tempting mon. :rotfl2: Would really hate to see Castaway Key changed into a resort area it's perfect as is for a beach day while cruising, besides you think people complain about bugs at HH, it's nothing compared to the creepy crawly biting things that show up at night on those little islands :jumping1:

My first wish - Typhoon Lagoon Villas (TLV). OKW size villas located directly along Castaway Creek. All villas having a PRIVATE patio overlooking the water park that offered a grill with table and umbrella and lounge chairs. Admission to Typhoon Lagoon would be included for all guests staying at the villa. If this resort came to be we'd sell all our OKW points and purchase here. I can't think of any other resort that would cause us to part with our beloved OKW.

I have no desire for any other offsite DVC. We'd certainly eventually try any offsite resort but very likely stay only once then never go again.

The monorail poll asks which monorail option we'd like to see. No other options listed. So possibly those who voted for "new monorail resort" or GF or Poly on the other one are now voting here for something else like DL or Carribean?

I think the CRV is holding up very well in both polls, contrary to what some people thought would be the case. ;)

My vote is for DCL give me DVC points aboard the ships and give all the other DVC resort owners no longer constantly changing points for cruise analysis.

I would imagine I would need more points for a week on DCL than at any other resort in equivalent season for equivalent accomdations but it would bring this part of the Disney family fully in to the fold. I would love a CC tie in but think that brings to much overhead for the proposition to get of the ground. There was a purpose built shared ownership Cruise type vessel built back in the nineties called the World http://www.theworldsuite.com/ Ownership then was around a million to 5 million per suite so $25 to 150 thousand per week. that translates to 250 to 1500 DVC points on average per week of cruisng for the life of the ship. They could just sell one deck out of each of the four ships and they would have as many suites to sell as a small DVC like VWL or BCV has. This one really ought to be looked at harder IMHO and oh yeah I so want to be on the founding owners tapestry/ships roster or whatever

My vote was more on emotion than practicality. I voted for DCL. This comes only 2 weeks after our first ever cruise. I am one of those people that had always said, I couldn't understand the attraction to a cruise.:confused3 Now I still don't understand it, but I am surely attracted to it too. :rotfl2:

I have recently booked a 1 BR suite cat 3 for next August, and have been thinking ever since, why don't they do a DVC membership for one of the ships. Could this be what they are thinking with the two new ships. I know I kept hearing on our recent cruise that there are LOTS of new and exciting things that will be happening with the new ships. And, they kept emphasizing NEW and Exciting along with LOTS. Maybe I am reading too much into those statements. :confused3

The GF now stands where the Aisian Resort was supposed to go.

Before the MK was even built plans were in place for 4 hotels to be on the monorail line.The Grand Floridian hotel is on the land that was set aside and dedicated to be the "Future" Asian Resort Hotel (A). The "Future"
Venetian (B) Resort was going to located between the Poly (5) and the Contemporary (8). A fifth hotel was going to build on a monorail spur which ended at the "Future" Persian Resort (C). That resort would be located just to east of the Mk and North of the Contemorary and would built with much of the hotel being on /over the water of Bay Lake. So even though the GF was not built until 18 years later a hotel was planned for that area at the same time the monorail was planned.
Do you think any of these hotels will be built?

I would love a Poly DVC- my vote- but I'm not sure where they would put it, since the resort is right up against the GF on one side, and the TTC on the other. I guess they would either refurb a building or two, or possibly knock some out and rebuild, but neither option would result in very many rooms.

there is a little room between Polyn and the wedding chapel - but i agree not much.

besides I want it on the other side - the castle looks better from Tahiti (my opinion)

someone else says that if it happened it would be in the older units. the ones that Disney just spend a fortune getting rid of the mold....

so I won't expect it for years....

There have been some posts reporting the GF has a hard time booking the hotel rooms at various times of the year. Part of the GF rumor states that some of the existing GF rooms will be converted to DVC. This is rumored to be in addition to a new building near the Wedding Chapel.

The Poly tends to be the most popular deluxe and requires less discounting to fill up.
