Cricut owners...

DH is buying me the cricut expression for my bday. I do not have the smaller cricut and have never used one. What other supplies or tools will I need or find useful? Thanks for your help.

I would get extra mats and blades and the tool kit. You are going to love it. I love my small one.

What kind of adhesive do you use? I currently own the small xyron X (it fits pieces up to 2 inches I think) Will I need a different xyron?


What brand of cardstock works best? Is Bazzill too thick for the tiny pieces?

definitely get extra mats, you will go thru those alot especially if you use cardstock or Bazzill paper.

For adhesive I use either the Xyron X (that is also the only one I have - almost everything fits through it) or a Zig glue pen. Sometimes I use tweezers for the really small pieces.

It will cut Bazzill - you just need to use the maximum settings for speed and pressure.

I am very excited...it has been ordered. Will DH actually make me wait until June 22nd?

Is there a cartridge that does library pockets? One that does mini file folders? I looked at the cricut web site but it is very confusing to look at unfolded items. I thought maybe the tags and boxes cart would have it.

Pockets - yep! I make mine with Doodlecharms (I *love* this cart!)
