Well, here we are! We made it back safely and most importantly mentally refreshed (wiped out physically!!!). It is a wonder what a week at WDW can do for you! We hated getting back to “real” life, but I don’t think I could have taken any more walking. Every year when we get back we say we are going to get a pedometer to see how far we walk each day, but of course we always forget to get one. I’ll bet we cover about 20 miles plus per day! Next year we pack the ben-gay or icy-hot to take care of the pains!!
Everything went great (except for Memorial Day – it wasn’t a bad day just very crowded, but I’ll get to that!). Nicolas seemed to have the time of his life! Parks during the day, swimming at night - what else could a kid ask for!
So buckle your seat belts and pull the yellow strip to prove to me they are buckled. Keep hands and feet inside the ride at all times. AND NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY!
Cause here we go!
Saturday, May 26
We had a 12:00pm flight out of Nashville which is about two hours from where we live. We woke up early and finished the packing. Four suitcases for 3 people (not including carry-ons) not to shabby!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0011-med.JPG
We left the house at 7:30 and arrived at the airport around 10:00. We made our annual stop at the newsstand there at the airport and loaded up on serious reading material (US weekly, People, Entertainment, etc.). Nicolas had me set his watch forward before we left the house which made for some interesting conversations until we got to Florida (they are an hour ahead of us). “What time will we be there?” “10:00”. “But it’s ten o’clock now.” “Ten o’clock OUR time”. “Oh”. “What time will we be there?” (SIGH).
We loaded up around 12:00 and began preparing for take-off. Angie and Nicolas had seats toward the middle of the plane. I had a seat in the very last row. I’m looking out the window watching them load the luggage and I notice that OUR luggage is sitting by the conveyor belt and NOT being loaded. That gave me some tense moments until they actually loaded our luggage! Nicolas was afraid during the flight that the plane was going to fly right off into space! My seat was just lovely. I had the restroom on my right and here is the view out the window on my left.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-008-med.JPG
Yep, that’s the engine! Loud and smelly, just how I like my flights!
Beautiful clouds while we were in the air though.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0051-med.JPG
We arrived in Orlando ten minutes ahead of schedule (2:47 pm) and went straight down to the Magical Express desk (downstairs next to the rental car agencies). We got our tickets for the bus and did the red carpet right on to our bus with no wait! In moments we were on our way to the Caribbean Beach Resort (which funny enough our driver called Caribbean Beach CLUB, I guess they decided to combine a couple of hotels!). We checked in with minimal wait and found out we were staying in Jamaica in room 4654!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-032-med.JPG
The good part about Jamaica is that it is a short trip across Caribbean Cay Island bridge to Old Port Royale (where the food courts and good pool are). We stopped by the room to check it out (nope, no luggage yet, but we didn’t expect it either) and headed to the food court to get some food!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0431-med.JPG
We ate at Shutters around 5:00pm (very good food). I had the Coconut Shrimp and Pork Ribs, Angie had the Salad and the Steak, and Nicolas had the Soup and the Mac and Cheese.
Sorry to disappoint some of you but I REFUSE to take pictures of my food unless there is something unique about it. Besides, when the food arrives I’m focused on eating it, not focused on focusing my photo on it.
Anyway, we picked up milk and doughnuts for the mornings and dropped it off in our room and headed for the Magic Kingdom!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0471-med.JPG
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT! It was like being home!
Had to stop by and check on my Indian nemesis and we decided to make up briefly.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-051-med.JPG
(No, I didn’t ACTUALLY kiss him, no telling where his cheeks have been!)
Stopped by to give Nicolas the chance to see if he was the next king.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-056-med.JPG
No luck with the sword, but it looks like some princesses are interested.
Headed over to Small World (which DS loves). Hardly waited at all before getting right on to the ride.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0591-med.JPG
Ran over to Splash Mountain and snagged some Fast Passes then went to Big Thunder Mountain railroad to ride. The line was long, but we decided to go ahead and wait since we really didn’t have a detailed plan for the evening.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0631-med.JPG
It only took us about 20 minutes to get on even though the sign outside said 40 minutes. We found this to be a pretty consistent theme for the week (except for Memorial Day). Wait times were almost always half the advertised time.
We ran over to Pirates to check out the “new” ride. We had missed the opening of this ride last year by less than a week so we were really looking forward to seeing the updates.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0691-med.JPG
Loved the ride! Those Jack Sparrow ani-dudes are really realistic looking! In the gift shop after the ride we had to get a picture of Nicolas with the huge hat and maracas.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-0801-med.JPG
It was time for our FPs for Splash Mountain so we headed there.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-081-med.JPG
We LOVE this ride and for the first time in a couple of years almost everything was working. The voices of the birds you hear while on the outside portion of the ride were still messed up a little and the jumping water room still had some major leaks but at least the one big jumping stream that flies over your boat was working!
We got off of Splash and headed straight for the castle to see “Wishes”.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-618-med.JPG
It was awesome as usual though I normally like to watch it from Main Street. It was neat seeing how many people came to watch the show everytime a bright fire work went off!
From there we headed over to Buzz (no wait) where Nicolas scored 2500, Roy scored 235,000, and Angie scored 736,000! She doesn’t even know what she hit to get that. There is something between rooms 1 and 2 that is a MAJOR hit (and I mean a lot more than the back of the robot’s hand!).
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-103-med.JPG
Nicolas worked out his differences with Emperor Zurg and we headed out to catch a seat for the 11:00 performance of Spectro. Sorry, no good pictures came out for this one. My digital camera doesn’t have the equivalent of fast speed film.
We decided to call it a night and headed to the bus stop. We had a couple of handicap people on our bus but after our bus driver loaded them he couldn’t figure out how to get the bus leveled back from the hydraulic system. He worked on that for twenty minutes before he figured it out. It is one of those things thats aggravating while they happen, but kind of funny when you look back on it later. It would end up being sort of a theme for the week, the buses not exactly working as planned, but that is a story for another day! It took us nearly an hour to get from our bus stop back to CBR and we were on the first bus that came.
We got in bed at 1:00am.
Coming up Day Two and Disney-MGM Studios!

Nice to have you back! Somehow I lost your pre-trip report along the way with all the craziness of last month's wedding but I'm happy to be back on board!
Ahhh yes, necessary reading material is always the gossip pages on travel days :goodvibes I was laughing out loud at the luggage incident. My husband and I flew out to Vegas a few years ago and watched several pieces of luggage fall of the conveyor belt going into the plane and nothing was done about it that we saw. It's an eye opener and nerve wracking!
The pictures of CBR look really pretty! I've never been over there before so we'll have to check it out next time.

Sorry about the delay! Once a year we do a service project called A.W.O.L. (A Work of Love) where we choose a home or a couple of homes and work on them with the kids for an entire week. It was a fantastic week! Tiring but fulfilling! But now I am ready to hit the fast track with…….
DAY TWO – DISNEY/MGM STUDIOS (Sunday, May 27th)
We left our room at 7:55 in the morning for a non-early entry day at MGM Studios. We arrived at the bus stop at nearly the exact minute that the bus did so we had no wait that morning for a bus (which will not always be the case this trip – I’ll explain in detail later). We arrived at MGM by 8:17. We were the first bus stop in the loop, but had to stop at six other places at CBR before heading to our destination, but not really a bad deal. When we arrived at MGM there were only about 150 people waiting to get in, very good sign! By 8:45 the line had still not cleared the courtyard. They let us in at 8:45 and we waited on Sunset street to watch the park opening ceremony.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-157-med.JPG
Nicolas trying on the hat!
The park opened right at 9:00 and we walked right on to TOT.

Tower of Terror!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-165-med.JPG
True terror! Nicolas waiting for the big drop!
Nicolas is afraid of the ride but wants to ride it because he knows we will buy him something in the gift shop at the end of the ride! I took off for RNR while DW and DS headed to Al’s Toy Barn to catch up with Woody. Nicolas decided this year that he wanted to get autographs from the characters, as a matter of fact he had made a special picture for one of the characters and it was an adventure in itself trying to get that done. Of course that is another story for another day! (but it is a good one!)
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-171-med.JPG
Nicolas and Woody!
I rode RNR (awesome, of course) and snagged 3 fastpasses so DW could get her ride in (big mistake getting those FPs). We met up in front of the Great Movie Ride and waited for about 5 minutes before getting in. They thought they had a spot for us in the back of one of the cars, but they didn’t so they allowed us to wait in line number one for the next car to pull up. While we were waiting I asked the CM where the hidden Minnie was that we always hear about. Right above and slightly to the left of the picture of the cabana right across from the entrance doors to the loading area we saw this….
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-174-med.JPG
Hidden Minnie!
Totally cool! We got out of TGMR and got in line in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat for Mickey’s autograph.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-190-med.JPG
Nicky and Mickey!
It was there that I spotted my first travesty of the vacation. I couldn’t help it I had to take a picture!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-222-med.JPG
Ouch! As sore as my legs were in tennis shoes I just couldn’t imagine!
We got autographs from Donald and Daisy, and Minnie and Goofy!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-192-med.JPG
I was supposed to get FPs for Little Mermaid before riding TGMR but since I had gotten FPs for RNR I couldn’t do that, so I was in a little bit of trouble with DW for that. I was able to get FPs for LM while they were waiting for their pictures and autographs. On the way back I spotted another interesting outfit that garnered some attention.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-196-med.JPG
My feet hurt just looking at those heels. I don’t know how you women do it for the space of a dinner, much less at a park like MGM!
At 11:23 on the button DW leaned over and kissed my cheek. I promptly asked what that was for and where was my wife! (she was just happy!)
We saw Little Mermaid and then headed to Star Tours for FPs. We went to Pizza Planet to eat (pizza all around!) and played a few games and then headed back to Star Tours to ride. As we were coming off of the ride this happened……..
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552Nic-roy-jedi2-med.jpg
Nicolas looks about 16 there! Ha
We ran across the park to ride the Backlot Tour (I LOVE that ride) and made the mistake of letting Nicolas get sight of the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area and he decided that he would rather play than watch the Stunt Car Show. I like the car show but was okay with watching him play for a while. We made sure to tell him not to spend the WHOLE time underneath the water gun and off he ran to play while we sat around and watched people for a while! (Yea!) We let him play for a bit and then ran over to watch Muppet 3D (with no wait!)
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-225-med.JPG
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-226-med.JPG Nicolas checking out the key for Muppet 3D!
We went over and watched One Man’s Dream and followed that up with the Animator Tour. We got Mr. Incredible’s autograph and then let Nicolas do the Animation Academy training.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-235-med.JPG
Nicolas drawing Donald Duck.
He got autographs from Wilber and Lewis Robinson and Frozone. We played in the coloring and sound areas and killed a little time in the gift shop. We then went to Sci-Fi for our 6:10 ADRs. Angie had a hamburger and fries, Nicolas had a hot dog and fries with a chocolate shake and I had Chicken Ceasar salad with a cup of chili (not on the salad). We had to ask for a hamburger as it was not on the menu. I thought that a little odd for a drive in place!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-244-med.JPG
We headed out of the park at 7:15. We had our longest wait of the day waiting on the bus to return to CBR (about 20 minutes). We went back to the hotel to swim and rest up for the next day. One funny thing that happened as we were leaving MGM, we saw two Nuns walking in. We cracked ourselves up for a while with variations of, “Two nuns walk into MGM……..”.
Coming up soon (I promise) Day Three – Epcot on Memorial Day. Not the best idea!

It is a Kodak EasyShare Z612. It doesn't have as long of a delay as the smaller Kodak EasyShares, but it still has a bit of delay for action shots. It has a great feature where it will shoot multiple pictures in sequence quickly. We got some great shots of the fireworks that way!

What is the key and where is it?
When you are going through the entrance to the Muppet 3D attraction on your right is a ticket booth. There is a carpet in front of it and a key is under the mat. There is a sign that says something to the effect of "Be Back Later, Key is Under the Mat".
It is great fun for the kids (and adults)!

Day Three - Epcot Day, Monday May 28th (Memorial Day)
We woke up and headed to the bus stop at 7:45. Didn't get on a bus until 8:15 though. The first bus that came through didn't have anything on his sign and he didn't know it. He stopped briefly and opened the door said "Epcot" quietly and when no one got up (by the time we registered what he said he was leaving) he took off. I actually jumped off the bench and banged on the side of his bus to get him to stop but he kept on driving. I know I looked lovely standing in the middle of the road waving my arms, but he wasn't going to stop. We had someone stand by the road from then on and ask where each bus was going. Apparently they were switching the way their buses are tracked and what sign they display to a more electrical format that allows their dispatch station to track each bus. We didn't find that out till the day before we left, so we had no idea what was going on.
So just a little teensy bit of frustration to start the day. Of course, it's Epcot Day so I can handle just a little bit of frustration. Right? Anyone?
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-247-med.JPG
Nicolas wanted to wear the Sorcerer's Hat that he got when he was three. That hat is six years old. I have to admit he has taken care of it. Anywhoo....
Now let me say from the outset that I LOVE Epcot. It is one of my favorite parks. I love the fountain that performs to the music. I love the jumping water in front of Honey, I Shrunk The Audience. I love the Land Pavilion. I Love the Aquarium. (This could go on for a while and I believe you get my point...) I really love Epcot.
By the time we caught the next bus and got to Epcot they were already letting people in the turnstiles to que in front of the fountain. I noticed that there were a LOT(!!!) of people. We had a pretty fun day at MGM with a minimal (for Disney) amount of people. There were a bunch of people at Epcot. We made the cattle drive to Soarin' when they opened the park with (what seemed like) everyone in the known universe. They make everyone go to the right when you enter The Land Pavilion. They don't allow you to go left unless you are in a wheelchair. I'm not sure I really understand that move, but anyway... we didn't actually get on the ride until 9:30. (BTW people - Most of the guides say go to Test Track and Mission Space first before attempting to get a FP for Soarin'. For the love of God people LISTEN TO THEM!!! Do not attempt to ride Soarin' first thing in the morning. It is worse than heading for Space Mountain at MK first thing in the morning! Don't do it!)

Soarin'
We jumped across the park after riding where Angie and Nicolas rode Mission Space. Most of the time I ride with them but after the bus and the cattle call and long wait for Soarin' (where once again we were in the third row, we hadn't made it to row one yet), I needed a little bit of a break. So while they rode I got FPs for Test Track and I headed over to Mouse Gears to check out the stuff. I watched the Jamitors perform...
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-255-med.JPG
These guys are great!
....and met up with the family. We ran back over and rode Living With the Land and waited for our ADRs for Garden Grille.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-265-med.JPG
We let Nicolas do the Kidcot station there beside the Garden Grille, but we had to shoo some parents off the seats for the kids before he could get to the table. Honestly people! We waited about 5 minutes to be paged for our seat and went in to eat. I love the food at the Garden Grille and generally I love the service, but during this particular trip the service was sub par. He brought our drinks and then brought our food, but then we didn't see him for about 30 minutes. We could have used drink re-fills and a food re-fill but when we saw him again he grabbed our plates and brought desert - no refills on food or drinks for us.
Just a teensy bit more frustration added on (can you see where this is going?)
I went down and grabbed FPs for Soarin' while Angie paid and we headed over to Test Track to make our FP time. Nicolas had broken his fanny pack so we stopped at Mouse Gears to get him a new bag. Angie got a hat and Nic bought a passport for the World. We headed over to Nemo for a ride. The line moves quick because it is a continuous motion ride, but the que for this ride is THREE ROOMS LONG!!!!. You heard me right. The que started and outside and everytime you came into a room you thought you would see the ride, but all you see is more rooms. It was crazy. The ride is good (once you get to it), but that is one crazy que. The ride is a little out of sequence (time frame wise) with the movie (which annoys me a little), but we still enjoyed it. We jumped over to Turtle Talk with Crush where Nicolas' question, "Do Sea Turtles Make Good Pets", got some good eyebrow action from Crush along with the return question, "What is a pet, dude?" Very Funny stuff. I love that technology! Those kids really feel like they are part of a movie or meeting a great movie star. So it is really wonderful. We were headed to Figment when I spotted this.....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-245-med.JPG
Ouch! Epcot is big people. Really, really big. Lot's of walking!
...as we were in line for Figment (which we had NEVER waited for before) we realized, duh, today is Memorial Day, thus all the people. We jumped over after that and tried to ride Ellen's Energy Ride. We had stopped to get some frozen smoothies from a cart and were sitting outside the pavilion drinking them because you can't have them inside when a guy came out and said, "Last Call". We were literally 30 feet away when he came out and said that. We got up and threw our drinks away (half drank) in the trash can ON THE WAY to the door and the man literally but up the barricade in our face. He wouldn't let us in. Now as you have probably seen this day hasn't been going as planned. Little things are starting to add up and somebody (we won't mention any names) is getting aggrevated............okay, it's me. I don't get aggrevated often, but when I do it is usually pretty bad. We went to Innoventions where I could sit and pout for a bit and Nicolas could build and race a robot ( I wish I hadn't been pouting now because I could have beaten the large (is that PC) man that beat all 12 of those children).
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-277.JPG
Don't know what he is doing with his hand, but he is about to race.
We had seen this Hidden Mickey at Test Track....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-272.JPG
Do you see it? Yeah, it's pretty easy!
And Nicolas had gotten his picture with Pluto at Garden Grille....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-266-med.JPG
Now Pluto is pretty special because he was the first "live" character that Nicolas had ever seen the first time we came to WDW. He loved it so much he made us buy him a Pluto Hat that he still enjoys wearing. So any picture with Pluto is special!
I was trying to enjoy my day, but wasn't succeding and it was making it hard for Angie and Nicolas to enjoy their day. We went to Spaceship Earth (ah, the soothing voice of Jeremy Irons) and then headed to the World.
Nicolas was ready to do his passport. We headed for Mexico first. We rode the updated ride there and thought it was okay. I'm glad they kept the fireworks! Those are pretty cool. We went to Norway next where I picked up FPs for Maelstrom. Then China and then America and finally Japan before we had to stop and make our FP time for Soarin'. All the way back around the world to make the ride. We went so far as to ask this time to be in row one and the CM was very nice and said, "This is Disney, all you have to do is ask" (good answer) and it was Row One all the way for us. Yes, it is SO much better than the other rows. It is higher and no feet in your view. I loved it! And then back to Norway for our FP return for Maelstrom.
My camera decided to die midway through the world so the only picture I got from the world was this one....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-281-med.JPG
Nicolas with Mulan and Mushu.
My camera decided to die so we had to use Photopass pictures to get Nicolas with Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore and also Alice in Wonderland (who was a meanie!!)
We let Nicolas finish up his passport. We also taught him to say hello and goodbye in all the languages we could (we didn't know the Norweigan for hello or goodbye) so he really had fun walking up to the passport tables and speaking to them in their language and most of them seemed to enjoy it to! We got to England and their Kidcot station is set up right where some characters do signings. It was a little crowded because Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore were in the other room. Alice was standing in the same room that we were but Nicolas didn't want her autograph at first because he was focused on the passport. The woman at the England kidcot station was really trying to do it right and talk to each child and make sure each child received what they needed, but there were a lot of people waiting. Alice came off her stage to talk to the kids, but was only focused on this one little girl from England. When the other kids would try to approach her to talk to her or get her autograph she acted like it was putting her out. She took the one little girl from England to the front of the Kidcot line and to get pictures with Pooh and company. We had finished at the kidcot and were in line for Pooh when the CM said we would be the last picture of the day (it was almost 9:00pm). Alice brought her new friend over and put her in line right in front of us and the CM almost wouldn't let us in to get the picture. Now remember about all the build up of these little things and you can imagine how this struck me. After talking to the CM (I was as nice as I was going to be) the CM agreed that Nicolas should have his picture taken with Pooh and crew, but it was close. I wasn't opposed to Alice focusing on that child, I just don't think she should have done it at the expense of the other children. That is NOT fair!
We safely got the autograph and finished up with Canada and the completion of the Passport and headed for the exit. We were one of the first at the bus stop but it was nearly 30 minutes by the time the bus arrived. When it did there were two people in wheelchairs who had to be seated. The buses are set with a hydraulic system to lower the bus to help the handicaped and after he loaded them and some of us waiting in line he couldn't get the bus into gear. He hadn't set the hydraulics back to full balance. I told my wife when I got on that I didn't think he had set it right (I used to work on buses). After the second or third time I heard him rev the engine trying to take off (the brakes automatically lock when your hydraulics are still engaged) I told my wife I should go up and tell him the problem. I hate to do that though, because most of the time they won't listen and they act like you just called them an idiot even if you are trying to help. After another 15 minutes, he finally figured out his problem and got us rolling. No pool tonight just straight to bed!
It was the Flower and Garden Show while we were there and Epcot was truly beautiful. Here is an example of some of the topiary on display.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-279-med.JPG
Overall, I've had better days at Epcot. The crowds were INSANE!! Some of the CMs seemed unhelpful and overall I was just frustrated. I was happy that Nicolas was able to do the passport. He had wanted to for several years, but we let him try out the Kidcot masks first to make sure he would do the stations and take care of it when he returned home. He had done well with that so this year we let him do the whole thing. He LOVED it. So that was good. We knew we were going to have to come back later in the week to get the bad taste out of our mouths though. I've had worse holidays at WDW. We went there right at Christmas for seven days one year and the crowds were ten times worse. The difference was we expected it at Christmas, we had totally forgotten about Memorial day so it caught us a little off guard.
Stay tuned....................Disney Quest coming up!
Thanks for reading.

The passport sounds interesting, can you give me a little more information on that?

They have a passport kit that you can buy in just about any of the shops it has what looks like an official passport and a bunch of stickers of flags and such that when you go to the Kidcot station they put on the page and then they stamp it with the country's name and usually write your child's name in their language. It was pretty neat and he loved it.

Day Four - Disney Quest, May 29th, 2007
We had heard a lot about Disney Quest, some good, some bad. We had almost went last year when we had some options left on some of our old park tickets. The park tickets ended up being so old that we couldn't use them at DQ (which is pretty funny when you think about it) and at that time we didn't really want to spend $100. But Nicolas was really disappointed that we didn't do it last year. He had read all about it and watched the DVD and he was very excited to try it. So we told him that we would take him this year. We slept in and had breakfast at CBR and arrived at Downtown Disney @ 11:00. I'm a big NASCAR fan (go Jeff Gordon!) so it was neat to see this Richard Petty Driving Experience Car.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-282-med.JPG
The car and Nicolas and I.
I think the program is pretty neat, I just don't want to pay $500 to drive a car.
We had about a twenty minute wait when we arrived at Disney Quest. There were about 150 to 200 people waiting outside to get in which made me a little bit nervous. They have these elevators that you go through after they scan your ticket so that makes the wait a little bit longer. I don't know if you can enter through the gift shop, but if you can that would be much quicker than waiting for the elevator. They do have a neat little cartoon they play on the elevator ride though! It seemed as if the inside of the place could handle 200 people though because we walked right on to the human pinball game and then a short wait for Buzz Lightyear's Astroblaster which is pretty cool! We did the Jungle Cruise and Pirates and then Aladdin's Magic Carpets. We let Nicolas make a song which I then messed up when we were trying differant rythmes and voices at the end. The screen locked up and begin flashing an error message at us, so I was in a little bit of trouble with Nicolas (you don't sing on these, they are kind of like madlibs to music). We let him Build a Toy (Toy Story themed - Sid's room style) and then went to build our own roller coaster. A HUGE warning here! If you have the slightest tendancy to get sick on a spinning ride or roller coaster - DO NOT DO THIS RIDE!!! I made a pretty moderate rollercoaster (a 3 out of 5) and I thought I was going to die! It really made me sick. I had to gather myself for about a half an hour after that. I hadn't eaten much for breakfast so I thought maybe if I ate I would feel better so we went to the Food Court. Angie had a hot dog that could feed two (huge), she also ordered chips and salsa but the orders are so large it would feed a family of four as part of their meal. I ordered nachos and a teryaki wrap again that was too much for one person. Nicolas of course had a hot dog. We played some video games then headed over to play the comic book game...

http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-292-med.JPG
Love the headgear you have to wear to play virtual reality games.
How long do we have to wait for this ride?
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-286-med.JPG
Not really a long wait, I just thought that was funny!
The comic book game was great for Angie and I, but the CM didn't get Nicolas' goggles on right and they kept falling off his head, so he was a little upset after that ride. We offered to go back and play again, but that was one of the only rides that we had to wait for and he didn't want to mess with it again!
We went to the animation academy and we all drew pictures of Mickey Mouse and got diplomas for our drawing ability.
We had pretty much done everything they had to offer so we headed for the exit. We saw this display in the street so Nicolas and I took advantage of it.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-295-med.JPG
We went to the shops at Downtown Disney where Angie and Nicolas did their very best to put us in the poor house. We went to Once Upon A Toy where Nicolas was wanting to make a Lightsaber. He really wanted a two sided sword that was green, but after they built it for him they told him only one side would light up. I cheered him up by telling him I think I see a way to make BOTH sides light up, but I haven't worked on it yet (sorry, son). That is a good warning though, make sure your kids know that only one side of the lightsaber will light. He was pretty disappointed that it didn't. We bought a kit for him last year where he could build a lightsaber and the stuff they have to buy is identical to the kit. If your child has the kit, he has the same stuff. That may not make a difference to them (it didn't to Nicolas) and they may want to build their own any way. They also give them a pin of either "Jedi" or "Sith". Nicolas walked out of Once Upon a Toy and immediately started scanning the other boys walking out to see if they had a "Sith" badge (he chose "Jedi"). He was determined to find a "Sith" to fight before we left Downtown Disney. It was pretty funny. He would see another boy with a badge and run over to them and hold his lightsaber out for a duel.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-297-med.JPG
For the rest of the trip he looked for "Sith".
While we were waiting for Angie to finish filling out the paperwork to send the rest of the toys either to the hotel or to the house. Nicolas said he had to go to the restroom. I took him to the one next to Once Upon a Toy and before I could stop him he ran into the Women's restroom. I had to call to him from the door (pretty embarassing) and then I wasn't allowed to "talk about it" any more. That may have been because everytime I went to tell the story I cracked up laughing!
We hopped a bus back to CBR and headed to the dinner court and the pool to let him play the evening away!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-299-med.JPG
Overall, we really enjoyed Disney Quest. Nearly everything was working (which is one of the problems we hear they have) and the lines were very minimal. If you have motion sickness you may want to beware because the
3D games can be visually intense. And definitely don't try the roller coaster if you get motion sickness. It reminded me of the first time I rode Mission Space before they had the "orange" side and "green" side. Most of the games were pretty fun, we especially enjoyed the Pirates game and the Buzz Lightyear game. You need to play both of them twice if you have never played before. Once to get the hang of it and two to really enjoy it. Don't let anyone be the pilot on the Alien game unless they have some sense of how to play video games. We let Angie be the pilot so Nicolas and I could blast Aliens and it didn't work out so well. Like I said though, play twice so that the second time you can really cut loose. The Aninamtion Academy was really fun and you can buy your picture afterward. We have three pictures haning in the hall now that look like Mickey Mouse's fat cousin! It was a blast. As far as my vote goes a thumbs up for Disney Quest. We will definitely do it again.

Live in Union City and work in Murray? Oh, that drive has got to suck! DW lives in Murray and works in Paris and she says that drive is bad enough!
Isn't that eerie to think that we have been mirroring each other! I hope none of those pictures I took of the foot wear was yours. I took one of them right outside of the Sci-Fi!

None of the footwear was mine. I spent all week saying the same thing about people though, but I never thought of taking pictures. I would just hit DH and say "can you believe that!!!!" I was wearing very sensible New Balance tennis shoes all week!!
We are planning a trip for next year at about the same time with my step-daughter and my sister.

Day 5 - Wednesday, May 30th - Magic Kingdom Day (Official!)
Headed to the bus stop and caught a bus immediately at 7:45 am (non early entry day). The sign on the bus still wasn't working, but at least we had learned to keep one member of the party posted near where the bus stopped to ask where the bus was going. Two or three times we got the answer "Look on the Sign (on the side of the bus)", at which point I wanted to say "So you're going nowhere since your sign is blank". But I resisted the sarcastic urges rising inside of me and simply told them the sign wasn't working at which point they would get out and look for themselves just on the odd chance that my eyes for some reason could not see the destination that was surely listed there. After going through that nearly every day, one bus driver (on our last day there) finally explained what was going on with the new system. It seems to me that would be very easy for the drivers to tell people but they weren't. Maybe they didn't want to draw attention to a new system just in case it messed up. I don't know.

We waited for the opening ceremony to begin and when it did we were thrilled to see Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar as part of the park opening!

The grounds are so beautiful and well groomed!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-302-med.JPG
Nicolas decided to wear his Goofy hat on this day. He had a single goal for the entire day (seperate from the goal of riding every ride he could, of course). Back when we were planning this vacation he had made a picture of Goofy. He forgot to bring it with him the day we went to MGM and he actually got Goofy's autograph. So he had brought the picture with him today and his goal was to get Goofy to sign it. He was very focused on that.
We got into the park right around 9:00 and Angie and Nicolas headed for Dumbo while I ran over to Space Mountain for FPs. Space Mountain was down and they weren't handing out FPs so I went back to meet up with Angie and Nicolas. Nicolas and I rode the Speedway while Angie went to get FPs for Pooh.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-314-med.JPG
Every year Nicolas is dying to drive but this year he said he wanted me to drive. I couldn't talk him into it. I guess he just wanted to enjoy the day without the pressure of running into the metal strip placed onto the ground. I don't know!
We went to the Monster Laugh Factory (which was great!), we rode Buzz, and then headed to the TTA. They were up and running at Space Mountain when we were on the TTA, but we already had a FP time for Pooh, and the stand by line was pretty long so we thought we would wait until a FP time opened up (big mistake!). We rode Peter Pan and then made our FP for Pooh. It was pretty humorous on the Pooh ride. They put us in the back seat of a honey pot with an older couple in the front. They made a huge show of saluting Mr. Toad giving the deed to Owl as we came through the doors and I thought that was funny. I always look for the picture but I have never saluted. I thought it was very cute. Paying homage to history. Very nice!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-320-med.JPG
Sorry about not having a picture of Mr. Toad and the deed. I was so shocked by the salute that I let the moment slip.
We headed over to Cosmic Ray's for lunch. Burgers for Angie and I, Nicolas had chicken nuggets and applesauce ($24). I was a little freaked out by Sonny Eclipse's eyebrow.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-329-med.JPG
It stayed that way the entire time though it would occasionaly move with his facial expressions.
We ran over to ride Haunted Mansion....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-327-med.JPG
...where we had to get a picture of the wedding ring imbedded in the ground!
We ran over to get FPs for Space Mountain and found out they were down again! Now we were kicking ourselves for not riding earlier. Nicolas and I ran over and hopped on the TTA to see what was going on in Space Mountain. This time all the lights were on though we couldn't see anyone actually working on the ride....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-337-med.JPG
......still pretty neat to see what it looks like in the light!
We got FPs for Mickey's Philharmagic and then rode Small World (Nicolas LOVES this ride). We made our FPs for Philharmagic then ran back over to check on Space Mountain (still down). We stopped for a minute to get some ice cream and then headed across the park....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-342-med.JPG
....where I picked up FPs for the Jungle Cruise while Angie and Nicolas rode Aladdin's Carpets. We went to the Enchanted Tiki Room and the Country Bear Jamboree. It had been a number of years since we had watched the Bears and I remembered why at the end. Does that one bear singing about blood and all of that get on anyone else's nerves. That last number where they are all singing and trying to drown out the old bear gives me a headache. It will be a number of years more before we see that again. Anywhoo.....We rode Pirates where Angie had to get a hat.....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552ang_-_vac07-med.JPG
....she had been talking about that hat since the first day and she wasn't to be denied!
We went to Splash Mountain for FPs and then back to Jungle Cruise for our ride. We had a guy named Ian Rightguard who talked waaaayyyy to fast, couldn't understand a word he was saying. We hopped on the train to Toontown Fair where Nicolas was dying to see Mickey and to find Goofy to show him his picture and get it autographed!
We got in to see Mickey pretty easily....

....where the whole family swarmed around him! We went to the Tent to see who was there and what do you know.....Goofy was there! Nicolas was very excited. We had to wait nearly thirty minutes but Goofy was great and well worth it!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-366-med.JPG
We also got to see Chip and Dale (who, we reminded them, had seen Nicolas two days ago at Garden Grille.......oh,........oh, yeah!) and Cinderella.
We toured Minnie's House......
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-371-med.JPG
Just guess where he gets his looks from!!!!!!!
.......then we headed over to the Carosel of Progress (which is one of our favorites!)
Space Mountain was still down (darn us for not riding when we had the chance!) so back across the park we went....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-375-med.JPG
I have to take a picture every time we cross in front of it!
........to pick up FPs for Big Thunder Mountain (which aggrevates Nicolas when I call it the runaway train - it's BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN RAILROAD DAD!) We had dinner at Pecos Bills (BBQ Sandwich for me, Taco Salad and Chili for Angie, and Chicken Nuggets and Applesauce for Nicolas). We rode Splash Mountain (FP) and then rode Big Thunder (FP).....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-377-med.JPG
.......and then headed for the exit. We got back to CBR fairly quickly and headed for the pool for an hour or two of swimming before bed. We had accomplished our goal of the day of getting Goofy's autograph. The only ride at the whole of WDW that we wanted to ride and didn't get to was Space Mountain! We didn't ride it on Saturday night because we figured we would ride it on Wednesday, but it was not to be. I guess the anticipation will have to build doubly for that ride when we return next time!
In the next episode.........
The missing Duck caper at Animal Kingdom. Plus, Nicolas performs in a major show!
Later!

The last time I saw country bears it was during Christmas and the music was different. So, when we went this last time, I talked every one into going in. There proceeded to be songs about blood and ummmm...shall we say inappropriate romantic things??? I laughed so hard at how ridiculous it all was...but we will not be going back for a while either...

Fast Passes are the key! They make the world (as in WDW) go round! We love them! It is going to spawn a bunch of stories, though, that begin like this, "Back in my day we didn't have these neat things like Fast Pass, we stood in line for hours and we loved it!".
Just wait it's coming!

Great day at MK. Y'all really did a lot. I totally agree about Country Bear. I thought I remembered liking it the last time I saw it years ago, but it desperately needs updating. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your trip report! You really got on a lot of rides at MK! Well, all except SM. Oh well you will just have to go back! I love your sense of humor :rotfl2: I tend to get sarcastic when I get frustrated too! When we went I stood right at the door of the bus to see where it was going when it didnt have signage. I hated when they sent the test busses and training busses which drove right by...argggg pirate:
You haven't really mentioned the heat....how was it in May...I am considering going in late April or early May one year. You all lasted all day in MK...something you couldnt do in the heat of summer! I was impressed.
Oh yeah before I forget...about the women wearing heals...I have a friend who cannot wear flat shoes because something is wrong with her foot. She wears at least a 2 inch heal everyday to school (work) and says it would really really hurt her to wear flats especially to walk around in. :scared: I am the opposite :upsidedow The most I wear are 2" heals and then my feet hurt if I wear them too long. So it's Crocs for me these days!:thumbsup2

It was upper 70s or low 80s everyday, very, very nice weather to be at the parks. We didn't try any water parks because it wasn't quite hot enough for me to get in the water. I like it solidly in the 90s before I'll try the water. I'm getting old and picky!
It hurts my feet just thinking of your friend wearing heels all the time. It reminds me of the commercial, though, where the women are wearing heels while mowing and playing tennis and etc. NOW I know where that came from!

Day 6 - Animal Kingdom Day
We left the hotel around 8:00 and arrived to find a very moderate line. Yea, great start for the day.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-378-med.JPG
We ran into "Palmy" who entertained the kids, which in turn entertained us as we watched the kids interact with him.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-380-med.JPG
We went in for the pre-show.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-381-med.JPG
Before we left on vacation Angie had bought a book that basically had an adventure centered around the four parks of WDW. Nicolas really took the book seriously and worked hard to solve all the clues that were in there. Here he is at AK trying to solve some clues early.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-388-med.JPG
I'm ashamed to admit that I don't have the name of the book here handy at this time. I will find out what it was called and post it soon!
At 9:00 Angie and Nicolas headed off to Triceratops Spin while I ran over and scored some FPs for Everest. Angie and Nicolas were allowed to ride twice before I came back.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-397-med.JPG
We hoped on Primeval Whirl and then rode Dinosaur.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-395-med.JPG
We ran back over to Everest to make our time. All three were riding so Nicolas and Angie rode in one car while I rode with a young English lady. I asked her what she was going to do during the picture. She said, "I'll probably just scream." Well, being the practical joker that I am, I couldn't let this wonderful opportunity pass me by. When we got to the picture place, sure enough, she was screaming. I put my hands over my ears like she was really loud and gave her a weird look. It was a very funny picture. She thought it was pretty funny also and showed her family who thought it was funny as well. Now here is the sad part. I was going to get the picture with Photo Pass. Well, we were all laughing about the picture so much, that NO ONE scanned it. We all walked away thinking we had a photo pass of it and we didn't so great, NO FUNNY PICTURE! I did take this one of the coaster though.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-398-med.JPG
We were heading over to get FPs for the Safari when we came across....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-404-med.JPG
That's right - DEVINE!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-405-med.JPG
We stopped for a snack of bread and fruit and then went to see Flights of Wonder.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-421-med.JPG
I really like this show! Those birds are really cool. They were doing some construction next door and it threw off a couple of the birds who didn't know what to think about all of the noise, but it was cute to see them react to circumstances around them rather than performing the status quo. I'm sure the trainers would have preferred normal rather than not, but I thought it added a cute aspect to the show!
We went over to make our FP time for the Safari. We were lined up to be in the front row when all of a sudden the woman loading pulled us completely out of line and put us in the back row for the NEXT truck. She didn't fill the seats, nor did she explain what she was doing. It was a little aggrevating to be put in the back with no explanation. It was like we were in trouble or something! Anywhoo, the ride started and it was one of the best Safari trips we have had. The animals were out and hanging around the road.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-433-med.JPG
The only negative was our driver didn't slow down much to get some really good pictures. The ride must really have been busy. I still managed to get a few photos, but there were opportunities for many more that I didn't get!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-442-med.JPG
Before riding the Safari we had grabbed FPs for Kali River Rapids. We did the walking trails...
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-447-med.JPG
and got a few pictures....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-450-med.JPG
...and then headed over to Kali for the ride. We had to grab a few pictures of the monkeys because they were screaming loud enough to shatter glass....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-455-med.JPG
....they seemed to be enjoying themselves though. On Kali River, Angie and Nicolas got soaked! I managed not to get hit to badly (lucky me!)
We headed over to Flame Tree Bar-B-Que for lunch and that is where the story really begins......
THE MISSING DUCK CAPER
We usually sit by the fountain on the lower right as you head away from where you order. Angie had pulled pork, Nicolas had a hot dog, and I had the ribs (yech-not good!) We found a nice seat right beside the fountain and began to eat. While we were eating we were watching the ducks swim around. There were some ducks with green heads (mallards) in one corner and a brown mama duck with four little babies on the other side. The babies were staying pretty close to mom and it didn't take us long to figure out why. If one of the little ones got to far away from mama the mallards would come over and try to drown the little duck. Very mean! Everyone would yell at them but they wouldn't stop until mama arrived and drove off the mean duck. Mama and the little ones had swam around to the other side of the fountain where there is an opening for the overflow water to spill over a little waterfall and then under the sidewalk and out into the river. All of a sudden Mama Duck started making a terrible racket. We looked up and noticed that all of a sudden Mama Duck only had three ducklings with her instead of four. One little duck had gone over the waterfall! Angie rushed over and saw the little duck at the bottom of the waterfall quacking for mama. We got the attention of a CM and the chase began. Him and I began trying to corral the little guy back to the upper fountain, but he wasn't too sure of us. Mama was pretty mad at us as well, thinking we were after her little one. We finally got him out of the bushes by the water fall, but when we got him back up by the fountain he got away again and was running for all he was worth. It took us a good 10 minutes to finally get him back in the water....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-457-med.JPG
We didn't get a good picture of the chase or the mama and the siblings. When I realized this later I tried to come back and get a picture but mama and the babies were gone by then. Sorry! The good news is that everything worked out in the end and the baby was saved! That would have really put a ding in our day if something bad had happened to that baby. Even if it had been swept out to the river, we would have worried about it, it was nice to have some closure on the matter!
We finished up with the drama and headed over to watch the Nemo show. Very good show! I love Nemo anyway because of the father and son relationship and how we tend to our see our boys as babies no matter how old they grow to be, so of course at the end of the show my wife had to look away and pretend I got something in my eye as I wiped away the tears. In no way do we acknowledge them while they are falling! Only when they are done and we are away can we admit they existed!
We got out of Nemo in time to see It's Tough To Be A Bug (while the parade was going on!) We almost didn't make it across the street becasue of the parade. We could actually see it coming down the road toward us as we ran across the road to ITTBAB. The pre-show music wasn't on for some reason and it seemed a little quite without it. We enjoyed the show and then headed for the Festival of the Lion King. Only one thing to say about the show....
Monkeys!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-475-med.JPG
We love the Monkeys!
Nicolas was chosen to be in the show, which he thoroughly enjoyed!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-487-med.JPG
Plus, he wore his Safari shirt so it fit right in. Kind of looks like that guy is hitting him in the face doesn't it! Nicolas played his instrument and had one of those smiles on his face that as a parent you would pay good money to put on his face everyday if you could!
We had accomplished everything we wanted to so we headed over to the Boneyard to let him (and I) play a little bit....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-497-med.JPG
....we finally dug up the new bone and headed to Rainforest Cafe' where Angie had the shrimp, I had the Ceasar salad and Nicolas had the mac and cheese. The ribs I had at Flame Tree BBQ had taken up residence in my stomach so I wasn't terribly hungry. Still good food at the Rainforest though! Our waiter was very good. A really nice guy! We left the park after that and headed back to CBR where Nicolas once again took complete advantage of their swimming pool and Angie and I discussed the day and just enjoyed each others company.
Next up......
Epcot Revisited...Maybe we can get it right this time!

On test track you have a place you can scan your card. But on the other rides you have to ask them to put the picture on your card (I don't think any of the others have gotten to the test track phase.) TT is pretty cool though, when you get off the ride you walk out to where the pictures are and each screen has a photo pass slot right beneath it.
Ours was more a matter of, "Oh, I've got the card, I thought you had the card, Who has the card,....". You know standard family argument!

I haven't posted on here lately, but I have been keeping up with reading your report! I just wanted to say thank you for saving the baby duck! I can see how much of an animal lover you are, and thought it was a nice thing for you to do! I wish there were more people in the world like you. A little off topic here, but on our news here a couple of weeks ago, they reported that authorities were looking for a woman who had been a great dane breeder. Seems she moved out of her rented home and left about 25 great dane's behind. They starved to death. Breaks my heart everytime I think about them, but hearing stories of people who have gone above and beyond for helpless animals gives me hope. Sorry for rambling, can't wait to hear more!

HEY! I'M BAAAAAACCCCKKKK! It took a little longer to post than I thought it would. Waaay long story and I won't bore you with it, but will get right into the tantalizing details of Friday, June 1, 2007 - Another Epcot Day.
If you remember, our first try at Epcot on this trip didn't turn out very well. It was crowded. I mean CROWDED! So we were really hoping for a better day this time. There were a couple of things working for us. First off, it was June 1st, which is "Gay Day" at Magic Kingdom. That means a lot of people would be heading to MK rather than the other parks. Second, it was forecasting rain for the day, which keeps some people away. But not us!
We woke up a little later than usual and headed to Epcot around 8:30am. We arrived at the park just a little after nine and walked right in and headed over to Test Track, which we walked right on. We walked over and right on to Mission Space - no waiting.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552Copy_of_vacation07-501-med.JPG
Tragedy had struck us while we were at Epcot. The backpack I had owned for nearly 20 years....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552Backpack2-med.JPG
...had finally given up on me. Both straps had broken:-( I've never had trouble with the bag, not one iota! All of a sudden both straps give out on the same day. Game over.
I headed over to Club Station Cool and found another bag. Here is the sad parting of one bag and the happy bonding of another....

I still think DW may have had something to do with the original bag's demise. She always hated and ridiculed that bag. I should have checked to see if the straps were cut! But now we will never know.......
Anywhoo, Angie and Nicolas rode the Nemo ride, while I transfered all of my stuff (they walked on too). We headed over to Soarin' for FPs. The return time on the FPs was the same time as our lunch ADR so we decided to try the Stand By line which said 55 minutes. We walked all the way to the concourse loading with no wait. From there we waited about 15 minutes to board. We headed over to Spaceship Earth which on the other hand, had the longest line we have ever encountered on that ride. It still was not a long wait though. We then hopped on the monorail for a ride to the TTC to pick up another monorail to MK where we hopped on the boat to the Wilderness Lodge where we had ADRs to eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Plus, getting ready for next year a little bit early!

I couldn't talk him into getting the hat. I could barely talk him into trying it on!

As many times as we have been to WDW we had never eaten at the WCC and we were really looking forward to it! We had the skillets to eat and Nicolas had the Mac and Cheese. Has anyone else been through this?

and finished like this?

I won't tell you the number of restroom stops it took to rectify drinking that much tea! My system felt cleaner though!
We hopped on a bus back to Epcot (which we waited what seemed like forever for, but probably was only 45 minutes). There was one of those kids at the bus stop whose parents don't really try to control them. Oh, they will say something to them, but they never really do anything and the child knows that so they behave however they want. This kid was whacking people on the head, screaming at the top of his lungs, and generally being a nuisance. There was a brief scare when I though they were getting on the same bus as we were (which the child actually DID get on the bus, and all the screaming in the world from his parents wouldn't get him off, they actually had to come in and get him and then bribed him with candy instead of lightin up his backside and telling him "NO". I think about 50 people would have cheered had that child received a spanking and that is just a shame!)
We DID get to do the Hokey Pokey at the WCC and that was a lot of fun. There was one family sitting in the middle of the restaurant whose father wouldn't let any of the kids get up and get invovled. They tried two or three times and he made them sit down. To this day, I wonder what that was about? Kind of odd. I forgot to wear my, "What if the Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about?" shirt.
We got back to Epcot after what seemed like forever and caught the Jamitors performing. Nicolas became an official Jr. Jamitor! We headed over to Ellen (which we had missed before) and then after that we headed across the park to catch the ferry so we could get Ice Cream at Beaches and Cream. Having never been there we assumed it was on the Boardwalk - NOPE! Someone told us to take a bus to the Beach Club, but the bus drivers told us they wouldn't be stopping there.

Marched all the way back over to the ferry and finally made it to the Beach Club! We had to wait a little bit to be seated because we were going for THE KITCHEN SINK!

Thank Goodness, we had actually done all that walking, because after the meal we had at WCC, I didn't think I was ever going to eat again! We gave it our best shot! And then came the sickness.....

I actually thought we did a pretty good job on it considering my DS eats like a bird most of the time. Couldn't hardly walk though!
We walked outside to catch a ride on the Ferry and here came the rain! We rode it back to Epcot and then trekked all the way through Epcot (sick as dogs from the Ice Cream) and finally to the bus station and back to CBR. We stayed inside and ordered pizza and watched cartoons!
One more day left folks. Our Departure date. In it we will give you a little inside on the Magical Express and see if you think it is worth the price! I swear to you the next update will come faster than this one!
Thanks for reading!

That is impressive what you all did to the "Sink". I would love to try it but I cannot do it. I think out of fear of actually finishing it. LOL
Great update.

BTW, I wasn't able to eat ice cream for like two months after that. Kept having this reoccuring nightmare that the ice cream was eating me! It was great at the start though, then it got difficult!

I am very sorry about your backpack...so will we ever know if it was tampered with? Look like a fun day jumping all around WDW property and the kitchen sink looks yummy yet nauseating! Looking forward to reading the wrap up of your trip.

Saturday, June 2, 2007 - Departure Day (BOO!)
We slept in a little and woke up around 8:00. We had done the majority of the packing the night before so we were able to relax and take our time. We headed to the pool and to get some breakfast. Nicolas was ready for the pool while DW and I were more interested in breakfast. It had rained on Friday, the day before, so as a result the pool ended up looking kind of like this....

http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-535-med.JPG
.....because it was so cold. Of course, being 9 years old, Nicolas didn't notice the cold.
DW and I enjoyed sitting outside and eating breakfast and doing a little people watching as people came for breakfast and hurried by to catch the buses.

This was also the first year that one of us didn't have to be actually looking at Nicolas while he was swimming. Up until this year we felt like we had to track every single move he made to make sure he didn't get hurt. This year we felt he could be let free a little bit, as we only checked on him every 5 minutes or so. Being right next to the pool as we ate was convienient since there was only him in the pool you didn't have to search through a group of kids to find him. Just look for the only one splashing around!
We finished eating and rousted him out of the pool (finally) and headed back to the room to finish packing. Nicolas had wanted to lay in a hammock all week so we stopped and let him get some rest.....
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/36552vacation07-532-med.JPG
of course, with a child, this lasts about a minute and a half and then becomes old. So we had no more that put our seats on a bench when he was announcing it was time to continue on. Luckily, he managed to get out of the hammock without falling on the ground (most newbies end up on the floor!)
We made it back to the room and gathered all of our stuff together and then made the LONG trek from our room in Jamaica to the Customs House (on the other side of the world!). ME will make sure that your luggage is brought to your room but they will not pick it up FROM your room. You can't use the buses to take your luggage to the Custom House. Your only options are taking it yourself or calling for a steward to cart your luggage for you which means tip money. We opted to take it ourselves and to tip ourselves and then to spend the money on something nice for ourselves!
We weren't set to depart until 12:30 but we went ahead and went to the Custom House at 10:30 and THANK GOD we did. When we arrived at the Custom House the line for ME ran around the whole right side of the building! We were in line nearly an hour before getting to the desk. Not very organized. After we checked in they put us right on a bus (which was great because we were still about an hour early) and sent us on to the airport!

Goodbye, Disney World! It is always SO difficult to get on the bus for the last ride back to the airport. Even if you are tired and ready to get home, getting on that bus is still difficult!
We arrived at the airport and ate at Chick-fil-et and waited for our plane. The line at the Security Check Point was HUGE! It took us a while to get through that. We finally arrived at our gate with about an hour and a half to spare and we got down to reading Newspapers and magazines to see what we had missed during our week in the world! At 3:10 we boarded our plane and said "Goodbye" to Florida for another year! We arrived in Nashville around 4:30 and made the two hour drive home. I had bought our dog "Baby" (who is 14 BTW) a special princess Mickey head.....

and she seemed very appreciative.....

It was good to see my girl and our other dog, Mac, and it was good to be home, but there is something almost depressing about arriving home after going to Disney, it is more like switching from home to another home!
Coming up soon........
Next year is Cruise time! Coming up soon we will begin our Pre-Trip for our four day land, four day sea package! All the fun with getting passports, and birth certificates. Trying to get in shape for the bathing suit and tan so I won't be red in all our pictures. And all the other fun that comes with a Disney Trip!
So Stay Tuned!

Thanks for the support! My little girl doesn't get as active as she used to, but I have to admit, she sure loves that princess Mickey head! She has played more with that since we arrived home than I have seen her play with anything! Maybe she just doesn't like Mickey as competition and is really trying to get rid of it! Who Knows?
Thanks, again!
