When & where are the next dis meetings. :confused3
I would like to go to one of these meeting so i could got to know you all .
I've noticed on here you all seem to know each other quite well & by first name terms. :)
I tried the chat room but it all moves very fast in there & found it hard to keep up as you all mostly knew each other.

I know how you feel. It is difficult to get to know everybody here. Regarding DIS meets, we don't have them that often. Since I've been here, there have only been about 5 - one in London at Planet Hollywood, one at Tony Romas in Kingston, one at a shopping centre up North (sorry, can't remember which one), one at a pub in Wiltshire and one last weekend in Tetbury. As Tony mentioned, there is also the GGG camping trip in July.
You could always organise a meet yourself or get together with some other DISers who live near you and meet up. To be honest, I have only met a few people from here. I do know people's first names, though, from posting here quite a lot. You get to know people gradually over time. Please, please, please join in on the 'chat' type threads and another thing to perhaps do is put your real name in your signature (if you don't mind people knowing) so we can call you by your first name instead of Goofysmate (or Goofy ;) )
It is easy to get the impression that eveyone 'knows' each other but, believe me, that's not always the case. There are several people I 'chat' to here who I don't know IRL. I am happy to chat to anyone really :)

I don't do camping either - and while I haven't decided yet whether I'll go (it is in Wales, after all :snooty: ) if I do go I will most certainly NOT be camping out :sad2:

NOT AT ALL, Jill, please don't feel like that, you are welcome to come and chat anytime, I know what you mean about the chat room moving fast, it is quite difficult to keep up but, as Joh says, you do get to know people after a while, even if you haven't met them for real. :hippie:

Jules, I really, really, really DO want to come especially as Nat is gonna be there now too but I had another look at the prices for the Usk Inn this morning and we would be looking at over £300 just for the 2 of us :scared1: And you know how I feel about tents :sad2:

Jill I haven't met any DISser's yet (meeting some US ones in August though!) and I've only been here since October but I feel as though I know lots of the people here. Just join in every thread going and they'll all have to get to know you :rotfl2:

I must admit the 'ask me anything' thread made me feel a lot closer to several regulars here, i didn't feel like I knew Jules, matt or Annmarie hardly at all, then a few great questions and answers later and what do you know? love them to bits.
p.s. still yet to meet my biological twin, Sue (floridasun) though

oo I'd come to a shopping trip to Brum! You do find out about people on here pretty quickly just by reading threads...i mean i know someone on here who will remain nameless (Floridasun) drinks only large classes of wine??lol and i found that out when the dis wasnt even working one weekend! Seriously though i've only met one disser (danauk) because we were on the same flight then she stalked me during my trip, so you will get to know people!

got to agree with this Carol, I only mentioned this to Joh last night, the ask me anything definately helped. I had already met a few friends, but feel that this really made me bond with yourself, AnnMarie, Sue to name but a few.
Love you to mate, love lots and lots of my Dis mates and I would be lost without you all ...
