How Far In Advance Can U Book - January Or Feb 2008

We had plans at the end of June to go to Universal -- I had a room on the Club Level booked for the Portofino. I would like to apply this deposit to a stay for either MLK weekend in January or during President's Week. I tried doing this online but during both time frames ALL Universal onsite hotels claimed to be sold out. I find this hard to believe. Either way, which is better - MLK weekend (4 days ) or 4 days during PResident's Week.

I recently tried to make January reservations also. I was told 2008 is not yet in the database and won't be until mid-June, perhaps even July.

However, you can call reservations and get a reservation at rack rate. Then just keep watching the rates when they are available on-line and if you fine one better, call and have your rack rate changed.

I am also trying to book at the Royal for President's Day week in 2/08. Neither the Loews nor Universal website will allow me to do that yet!!! I amazed that a major resort doesn't allow you book 8 months out.
