Most of the time the people that we get in our new shop are all very nice and complimentary about the shop, the service and everything in general really, well this morning I had the worse customer I have ever met, she came in with a balloon that she had bought at Birthdays - as according to her we had nothing suitable - even though I stock around 400 different designs of balloons! She said "you write on balloons don't you?" I replied yes, and explained to her that she would have to leave it with me for 20 minutes as I was very busy with another order of 40 balloons for a Subway Sandwich Shop opening, I asked her to write the name of a peice of paper and pop back for it.

Anyway I finished my Subway order (I didn't even get a free sandwich!;) ) and then put the name on the balloon in purple glitter - very pretty and nice I thought. Anyway she came back and looked at it with a face like thunder - "I wanted stickers" she shouted at me!:scared1: I said " Oh I am sorry you asked for writing - and that is the glitter writing" to which she replied "Don't you patronise me I did not ask for that" " I am not paying for it" I said that we all make mistakes and it was a misunderstanding but it still looks lovely then she barked "I want a replacement balloon" and by this time I was getting rather annoyed so I said "Well you have already said that we haven't got anything suitable so I am not able to replace it" she told me how awful our service was and that I should be more careful as I am in Dickens Heath - yes and what has that got to do with anything??!! :rotfl: I had to do another personalised balloon after it and I was shaking so much that I couldn't write!

Then another customer who was in the shop told me that she thought it was lovely and that you will never please someone like that and then she told me that she had seen the same woman in Tescos last week trying to get a refund on yesterdays read newspaper!! :lmao: So I think that she had no intention of paying for it at all!

Luckily as I say the majority of people are nice but you do get the odd one!!
Thank you for listening to my rant.

You don't realise how bad the public are until you have to work with them. I have had some nasty pieces of work to deal with in the past.

What a nerve :confused3 but well done you!

I'd keep a camera by the till and if she comes in again take her photo and threaten to put it in the window with a sign saying 'this lady is barred for life!' :rotfl:

Well Jo, I have told DH to ban her from the shop, she is easily recognisable anyway so it shouldn't too difficult! ;)

Some people!

I had an e-mail today from the hotel i'm staying at the night before we fly to Disney to say that the hotel has new owners and so I can no longer have the room i'd booked but they'd give me another room and discount the price, I said no problem, the lady wrote but to say how nice it was to deal with someone who was polite as everyone else she'd contacted had been horrible to her.

Chilly - I know I can't believe what some people are like you know! They do my head in. I don't see what they get out of being horrible to people *** it doesn't get you anywhere. I am actually nicer to people now that work in service industries as I know what it's like to be on the recieving end of a torrent of abuse from a customer - but you know what if you are super nice to someone that is being horrible to you it annoys them even more *** they think that they aren 't getting to you!! Well that's my trick anyway!
