View Full Version : Note to All: NEVER play Cute or Boot

Here is another famous Rose rant!
I used to play cute or boot a lot back when I was a newbie, but today I decided to try it again. Ok, well I decided to play a cute or boot game for the heck of it because the owner was giving away black ears. He didn't do anything wrong (except boot me for not trading him a bird hat ;) ). It was just the girl I was playing against was KILLING me. She was totally bragging and, while I paid the owner for the hundreth time, she was saying " She's just mad because I am better than her." This just about made me want to slap that girl in the face. Another thing I notice is that when people wear rare they tend to win, even if they look completely terrible. I mean, this girl had blue hair for pete's sake! And also, she would say things like " I am wearing all red, she (referring to me) isn't." Gosh... It's people like these that make me seriously want to quit VMK. I will never play a cute or boot game again.

Oh! That's rude.
Have you tried using my old friend, the ignore button?
That will work a ton! ;)

There are reasons I tell people not to play games like Falling Chairs, or
Cute or Boot:
Room owners rig the games to cheat, especially if it's "pay or boot".
Think about it. The owner has one friend (or a mule for that matter!)
to be the "winner". The goal for them is to try to get as many trusting
strangers in to play, thinking they have a shot at winning. They don't.
Maybe there are exceptions to this scenario. I'm curious to find out how
many players who have paid to stay in a game actually WIN it. I'd be
interested to see if anyone actually has.
I think the best games are those where the room owners do not ask you to
pay to play or stay. The spend their hard-earned credits on prizes, and their
efforts should be appreciated.

Another reason I never even step foot in a Cute or Boot room, it seems like one big scam to me if the owner is asking for rare if you are not "cute".

I don't play ANY game where owners allow people to "pay" an item. Most times the player gets booted right after paying the item. Lori also gives a good tip about the fact that many of these games are rigged where a friend or a mule wins the game every time, while the room owner loads up on all the items people kept paying them to try to stay in the game. The same happens in games like Falling Chairs.
Games like Cute or Boot are all subjective...you may look the best according to your own opinion, but the one deciding may have a completely different opinion. For me, seeing someone with blue hair doesn't make a person look terrible...hey, I walk around with pink skin. I love when characters have fun with their looks. So you see? It's all subjective.
Bottom line, stay away from any game that asks you to pay up or be booted. Chances are highly likely you'll be booted after paying anyway, and VMK will not recover the item for you.

I think cute or boot is degrading, kids live through that enough in real life, why make it worse on a virtual character.
Briar, my son HAS won quite a few games of falling chairs, and I finished up a game for dd once and won also, so there are some decent games out there for those who can't do the fireworks and such. I just don't recommend paying anything more than 50 credits worth to stay in the game.

Did you actually get your prize? If not, you can actually report that person because VMK has stated that if they say a prize will be given, they HAVE to give the prize.

Yes, we know and understand that it's rude, but we really don't need more threads about this. You're beating a horse that's been dead for 2 years. :headache:

I'm glad to hear that someone who played and paid actually won. :)
But I think that's the exception for many of these games. :(

The pay to play games really annoy me.
With all the people paying to get in, the game is never ending. It usually goes on until the owner says that he or she has to get off.

I play the games sometimes but I will never pay to stay in the game. I have won a few times too without paying.

Same here but I don't pay if I lose, just in case they don't give you anything at the end. I'm pretty content with playing pirates the whole time I'm on VMK.

here is me and my friends theory. And ways people can scam you through this game..
They say your ugly, and make you pay
Again, ugly and make you pay
Over and over finally, if you win, its almost as if a trade, So basically, you just gave that person all your stuff for ONE item.
Total rip off.
Next:
Owner gets a friend to play cute or boot with random people.
owner says everyones ugly and they need to pay
Owner says everyones ugly and they need to pay.. Again
then, once the owner is satisfied with the ammount of stuff they scammed off people.
They give there friend the prize, and everyone leaves. Then the friend gives back the prize, and they split the ammount of stuff scammed off people.
 Unless the owner has no heart and boots the friend and keeps the stuff.

Its so unfair, and basically you cant get banned for that because the person could just say " oh, i dont like this crown you can have it back.. "

True, what I don't get is, how on earth can you get banned for saying shut up? :confused3 I was playing falling chairs a long time ago. I said shut up to someone and he reported me then I got banned.

well i play regular games of cute or boot, just for fun, i never pay to play because i never liked the payment system on VMK, i also annouce it in the room so if i have rare clothing on, i will not automaticly lose just because the owner thinks s/he is going to get rich off of me, not happeing :woohoo:
