Nope, our school doesn't. Is traditional less comfortable? Or is it like, the same. :p

i play drums and have no idea what that is. i play drumset now, but in middle school i played saxaphone and when we marched the teacher would switch me to drums b/c i knew the cadence by ear.

my friend plays both ways, usually to impress the judges at the guitar center drum offs but he says its really not that hard to do once you get the hang of it, although he prefers to play non traditional

traditional is a way to hold the sticks....basicly flip ur left hand so ur palm is up...and place the end u don't play with between ur thumb nd first finger....nd then let it rest between ur middle nd ring finger..near the tip of ur fingers...lol that might of made no sense! lol thats really cool u can play it by ear! i can play drumset by ear but not cadences!!
