I need to lose 80-90 lbs overall, but mostly I just want to get healthy long term, so I'm not looking for a crash diet or anything like that. However, I would like to lose several sizes by my Sept WDW trip (to fit into more comfortable hot weather, high tech fabric (like coolmax) clothes that aren't available pooh-sized). What do you think will be more effective toward that goal:

Option A: 1/2 hour cardio (elliptical or treadmill) + 45 min strength training with personal trainer + 15 min stretching 2x per week, + 1/2 hour cardio (swimming or elliptical) 3x week.

Option B: 1 1/2 hour swimming 2x per week with a Masters team + 1/2 hour strength training (no trainer) 2x per week

I'll also be doing Jenny Craig for food.

Go with the swim team! Even if you burn lesser calories in the short term, having the team expect you there will make you go.

The pt will push you farther than you would push yourself and will get at those muscles to tone up where the size will drop. My pt was expensive so sadly, I am not with her until I can save more $. I look forward to returning with her though.

If you can discipline yourself to get a good w/o at each attempt, you could certainly do it yourself.

Whatever you decide, never give up. You can do this!

First wright down the reasons you want to loose weight.

examples- see your Kids grow older -feel better- what ever you want to put down on paper.

Than you remember what you put down on that paper and throw it away.

Those are you reasons you want to refer to when times might get tough.
