i was just watching MTV and the mtv news thing came on and said how well pirates did on opening weekend and that it looks like a pirates of the carribean 4 i cant wait to find out!!!!

EDIT: Can someone describe that last part after the credits for me? I figured they would have it since they did for 1 and 2 but I had my mom waiting outside to pick me up Thursday night and didn't want to delay her anymore.

I am somewhat confused by the anouncments about the fourth installment. I was watching a show and they interviewed Jerry Bruckheimer (spelling) and he said that the third one was the last installment, but he could very well change his mind. I for one am pumped for the fourth one. Atleast they didn't leave me hanging like the end of the secound with Barbossa. i was begging for the third one by that time. Yet, i have no idea what the fourth movie will be about. Perhaps about Jack going to the fountain of youth but he is already there. Heck, it is pirates+disney, they can accomplish anything. :wizard: pirate:

I personally would love to see another Pirates movie! I think they could do all kinds of things with Jack..no doubt about it!
But they diffitly need to go get Will! Hey its a Pirate movie..which means they can do anything..then add Jack and Disney and oh yea! I too saw that it made alot.. so I am really hoping they will do another one! I love them! :love:

They definatly have plenty to go with from POTC 3 SPOILER * with the whole Calyspo story line and the fountain of youth. * Or there is also still things that I would like to know more about sort of a prequal, Gibbs story, how did he become a pirate and get to know Jack? Or something with Barbosa's mutiny of Jack. How Davey Jones and his crew turned into the fish people. Or some more on Jack's dad!! Id love to see Keith Richards have a larger role. I think i could probably keep going on and on and on......

Huh? SPOILER: He isn't freed after 10 years, he gets one day on land every 10 years. I don't see why Elizabeth & son can't visit him on water though.

Jerry Bruckheimer - Says there "more than likely will be a fourth movie, but it wont be for awhile, theyre taking a break from pirates"

Gore Verbinski (the director of the 3 movies) says if there is a 4th, he will not return, he is piratesed out.

Johnny Depp said he would make a Pirates 4 5 and 6 if it was up to him, so if there is a 4th, count on him definatley being back.

As far as a plot for the 4th movie, Will and Elizabeth will not be part of the story, their stories are done and told, its The End for them, thus the reason for the scene after the credits.

Another reason for the 4th movie not coming for a while is Depp has many projects lined up right now, Sweeny Todd and The Rum Diaries (funny title isnt it? After Pirates and all. But it has nothing to do with Pirates, it is actually a follow up to Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas) as well as one other movie that I can not think of right now, forgot the title.

So when, I only say when because from the money its made, theres no doubt another will be made. I dont see it happening anytime in the near future. I think they will let people sit on these three for a while so when they do go ahead with a 4th movie itll be bigger.

Jim Hill recently dropped some PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequel talk over at his official site. First of all, he seems fairly certain in claiming that because Johnny Depp is indeed interested in reprising his role as uproariously effeminate buccaneer Jack Sparrow in a fourth installment of the franchise, Disney is already planning for the film to be its summer 2009 tentpole.

And hear are a few more news bits....

Depp's quote from a recent Newsweek article: "He's a blast to play," he says. "I'll be in a deep, dark depression saying goodbye to him." He laughs. "I'll keep the costume and just prance around the house, entertain the kids." Or the rest of the world. "Maybe 'Pirates 4, 5 and 6'," he says. "If they had a good script, why not? I mean, at a certain point, the madness must stop, but for the moment, I can't say that he's done."

A Disney insider told the British tabloid The Daily Star Sunday, "The script for the fourth "Pirates" movie is being worked on and all the finances are in place but it was decided Bloom's character and a number of minor roles were not necessary to ensure it would be yet another box office smash for Disney."

Our friends over at Moviehole have picked up an item from The Herald Sun in which Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer says the fourth movie may actually be a spin-off instead. He says, “This is the end [of the current trilogy], but whether one of the characters or a couple of the characters continue on, it’s a possibility.”

That statement was later backed up by Geoffrey Rush, who even went so far as to hint that the thing may go on without Johnny Depp. Since he’s the one saying it, you’ve got to wonder if maybe they’ll shift the focus to his character, Captain Barbosa. If the fourth movie is going to be about anyone besides Captain Jack, Barbosa and his piratical monkey are their next best option.

Thats the recent interview Orlando Bloom had with Jay Leno. He said that he would go up to a number 10 if they wanted him to and he would walk onto the set with his Wheelchair and cane doing it. :love:

I don't know about this. I'm sure Disney wouldn't mind making another Pirate movie, considering right now lots of things are being changed to pirate themes. Disney is getting a lot of revenue from this whole Pirate thing, and they probably will. But if they do, i think a lot of people are going to be mad that Disney is totally killing the whole "Pirates" theme. Oh Well..

Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly are on course for a fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, according to the film's writer.

Terry Rossio reveals plans are afoot to make another sequel for the hit franchise but fans may have to wait a few years to see it.

After making sequels two and three back to back, Rossio feels sure Depp and company will get the chance to ditch their sea legs for a while before returning for a fourth installment.

He tells movie news website MovieHole.net, "It's like the fourth Indiana Jones picture - there are forces in play to make it happen, and forces in play to make it not happen.

"I think we will try to write a screenplay. I can't say if we'll be able to solve the challenge of making a good fourth film, or if our screenplay will be enough to get a film made."
