Mercado update (it's not long for this world)

Had an e-mail update from Jeff Howell, who has performed at Cricketers Arms every Friday for years. He said tonight (May 25) will be CA's last night in Mercado before they rip everything out and move up I-Drive to Festival Bay. I have to assume Bergamos will be closing and moving any day now, as well, if it hasn't already.

Mercado's end has been coming for a while, but it looks like it has finally arrived. Hopefully this is at least the boost Festival Bay needs to finally start attracting crowds.

It has been a family tradition of ours to go to the Mercado, enjoy some live music and cocktails and then mini golf at Pirate's Cove! My dad loved going in the CA!
We don't care for Festival Bay. Long live Mercado!

Yup, sorry, word is they plan to tear the building itself down. They announced that over a year ago now, but now it looks like the wheels are finally turning.

Festival Bay can be a bit creepy but wouldn't be if it only had a few more customers and a lot more shops.

yep, theres going to be a huge Vegas style resort to be built in its place, or at least thats what I read a year ago

Not been to Mercado for about 10 years, forgot it was there, never go up that part of Idrive anymore.

What about the Titanic exhibit? Isn't it located there?
