It's alot of fun and once you go the first time it is addicting. There are dive sites all over the country (those not on the coasts are usually lakes, rivers and quarries). I have only been to the spring where that pic was taken and in the gulf in Florida at and near Pensacola. Very clear water at both places most of the time and the further east you go along the gulf coast the bluer the water gets.

It's alot of fun and once you go the first time it is addicting. There are dive sites all over the country (those not on the coasts are usually lakes, rivers and quarries). I have only been to the spring where that pic was taken and in the gulf in Florida at and near Pensacola. Very clear water at both places most of the time and the further east you go along the gulf coast the bluer the water gets.

Sounds a little like exercise. Or maybe a smidge like work? Is it difficult?
I usually shun anything that involves fitness.

The blue water does sound beautiful! Do fish ever happen to swim up to you?

It isn't really exercise as you are basically weightless (unless you don't get your boyancy right :rolleyes1 ). As for fitness levels all you have to be able to do is swim a certain amount, float and tread water. Not much else is needed unless you have serious medical conditions that would prevent you from diving at all.

I actually had a crab scurry between my knees while we were in the gulf doing our last skill test and a couple of fish swim right past my face which was really cool. They were silver with black stripes. We also saw some dolphins while we were on the beach but the water wasn't clear enough to see them under the water (they were too far away from us and a storm was moving in causing the water visibilty to lessen)

We did the pool the night before and it was cold too :rolleyes: :lmao: The dive we did the next day in the gulf was warmer
