Any Secret Shopper programs a real deal?

I've heard that the ones that you have to pay for are usually a scam, and that there are programs that you can sign up for that you don't have to pay a thing but still get to work. Anyone have a link or know anything about this?

Definitely go to volition.com. They even have forums where people post reviews of companies. Also, there is a mystery shoppers professional association that has a website and lists info and companies. It's not worth it to pay for info, everything you need is on those websites.
