DH was able to upgrade us to first class using miles! The perk of free drinks sounds interesting. But, I'm not much of a drinker and I've never purchased a drink on a plane. What kind of booze is available? What do you guys like to sip in the air? I want to look like a sophisticated traveler, and not the yokel that I am (Golly gee we're in First Class!)
Thanks for helping with yet another goofy question! :)

Bloody Mary, white wine, rum and coke. The list is endless. I generally opt for the Bloody Mary cause I love em. :)

They pretty much have a fully stocked bar. We opted for 7 &7's because that is what we like, but you can get beer, wine, rum, vodka, bourbon, blended whiskey, scotch, tequila, gin, etc... mixers may vary, but you will always be able to get the soft drinks, and orange juice. Fancy drinks, like daquiris, margaritas, etc won't be served, usually, though!

Actually, some of those drinks are available in First Class.
If you can get a mix for it, they will have it.

Bailey's (Irish Cream) on ice. Yummmmmmy. Also good in coffee (United served Starbucks on our last trip). Last time we flew, I drank them out of it;) It was a good flight!!!
Have fun,
Amy

Bloody Mary:
Vodka ( I prefer Gin) with a Bloody Mary mix (usually spicy tomatoe juice) and lime, with a garnish of either celery or olives. They salt the rim of the glass unless you ask them not to.
When I make them at home I use gin and V8 and worcestershire sauce, a bit of horseradish, lemon and I don't bother with the garnish and I do not salt the rim of the glass.
