Hey, JC never-2-down to lift HIm up! We'll... hopefully NEVER, right!? Thank you for the great songs and that wonderful encouraging Scripture from Deuteronomy! Reminds me of old MWS, (with that full beard thing going, Michelle)! :eek:

We have been trying to expand our repetoire and tend to teach a new song a month so of course they will be repeated a lot. Here are some regulars and most loved by our congregation from the feedback I have heard:

You Are My All in All (sung in a round with men and women, BTW when we first did it this way, some smarty pants made some comment to me about being in Kindergarten and singing Row, Row, Row your boat...:rolleyes: )

We alternate a lot though from a pretty good repertoire of older stuff and introduce the newer as we go...because of the ever expanding "Praise" knowledge of the WT's youngest member...ME! Yes, at 34&1/2 I am the Team's YOUNGEST member...what does THAT tell ya'll!! I do STRUGGLE sometimes...:rolleyes: (I'm sure enjoying the :rolleyes: a lot today!)

Hey, tomorrow, the 20th, is Dan's birthday! He will be old enough to run for President! (Let's NOT go THERE)! His biggest birthday wish is most likely coming true today...we are expecting a big-seems-like-God-sent-it-our-way-just-for-Dan snow storm today which should leave a nice 6-8 inches for him to enjoy tomorrow on his B-day! :D He leads such a charmed life! His second wish...to have off from work on his birthday...is a reality since it falls on a Sunday...PLUS he has Monday off for Martin Luther King Day!!! How Lucky can one guy get??? Well, He IS married to ~~~ME~~~ :rolleyes: (There I go again)! Last night we had a birthday dinner here with His parents and my mom and Dan ordered from the chef...Steak, baked potato, steamed veggies, salad, rolls...and a chocolate chip almond pound cake with a layer of fudge in the middle and buttercream icing and decorated with ...what else...snowflakes!!!! What rich taste...(Again, look at the WIFE)! ;) Everyone else got the same meal too! :D

Salivating??? It was delicious...but very HEAVY. Glad his birthday only comes once a year! LOL

Hi everyone! I finally got on...it said the server was too busy this AM:rolleyes: :confused: :p

Well, the 2002 concert season has begun here in ME! Next month Erin O'Donnel and Shaun Groves will be here together...not sure if we'll go, it was JUST announced this morning.

They played a Shaun Groves song called "After the Music Fades" (I think that's right). It's pretty good, anyone heard it?

I gotta go...it seems I have picked up yet another virus and I must go and kill the dumb thing! And then it's off to buy a new anti-virus program!!!!

I have a prayer request for you guys. Today at homeless ministry Silvana (she and her husband are in charge) asked me if I'd be interested in helping her with the pre-teen
girl's class (STARS) on Wednesday nights. I told her I'd pray about it and let her know.
I'm going to attend a meeting she is having next monday so I will let her know then. This
is something I've always felt a desire to do but you know how those little doubts start
creeping in. If you would just pray for me to have direction and wisdom in making this
decision I would appreciate it much. Thanks! :)

Thanks JC2! :) Silvana just got the class and she said the girls really aren't into it. I guess their last teacher wasn't real motivated about doing things with them and at that age they really need that extra attention. She's redoing their classroom and trying to make it a little more hip so that they will like it more. It's hard though when the "super cool" youth group is right down the hall. :rolleyes:

I know you grew up in the Baptist church but are you familiar with the STAR program from your last church?

It's based on the lives of Susanna, Tabitha, Anna and Ruth and each one represents an
ideal that we should have in our lives. I don't remember what they all were but I know
one was Stewardship. I totally enjoyed it when I was in the class when I was younger. Especially earning the badges. Gosh I loved earning those badges and showing up all the other girls at the awards ceremony when I got 10 and they got 2! LOL Yes, I am terrible! :D I still have them too! :D

Yep, I'm familiar with the Daisies, Stars, Rainbows, and I forgot the others... I know those groups from the AG church. They are really good programs. I was too old to be active in any of them when I started attending the AG church, but I watched girls grow in those programs.

Hey all! Hershey park would be SOOOOO Awesome!!!! AND they even have that little chocolate factory tour with the piped-in chocolate smell and MMMMMMMMMMM...It's great too!

Stamper, yeah I am not a big football nut but I have to root for the Eagles or my brothers would disown me. The game last week was so frustratin' cause it was so close and we made some really dumb errors that could have made for a different outcome. Actually, we were hoping for a Philly/Pittsburg match, but they both bombed out. Philly and New England would have been nice too...but then you and I would be at odds...HORRORS!!!! Good thing it didn't work out that way...I'm sure the Eagles will understand that we just couldn't let that happen...LOL! I hope the Patriots run all over the Rams! (I probably just cursed them with that comment). Actually, I think it is great that there are so many Christian athletes who are role models for our boys. There are so many who aren't, so I'm glad for the ones who are. When the Eagles beat the Bears there were both Eagles and Bears on the field praying at the end...that was a nice sight to see.
BTW, I love that Newsong song!

Michelle doesn't like sports...just athletes! :rolleyes: I have to chuckle evertime I see those commercials about dialing 10-10-220...I always think of thee, Princess!

Can I ask you regular posters to this thread and anyone else who reads this to do me a favor, pretty pleeeeaaassseee? :)

My monitor is dying a slow and painful death and right now the color is messed up big time. When you use the lighter colors in your posts I have a really hard time seeing them. Could you please, please, please use the darker ones like blue, purple, green, brick red, ect... This is painful for me too because I can't use my two favorites of pink and crimson. :( Hopefully I'll get a new monitor in a couple of weeks. Thanks guys! :)

Hi all! Great singing as always! Good to see ya Dan...thansk for the kind words!

Can I ask you guys to pray for us today? We have a meeting with DD's teacher and the administrator this afternoon:( UUGGHH...this should be fun...not!! We are having some issues, which until Thurs. were "dealable" - but now I really need to see some big change in attitude! The good thing is it is a Christian School...so that helps, too bad it didn't mean that all things were perfect:D DH also has a meeting at work that is rather stressful...there are problems with his co-worker and the bosses have FINALLY caught on!

Anyway, TIA. You all are great!

Michelle, how's the job? Hope you get that new monitor soon...it will be nice to know someone else besides us helping to "keep America rolling"! We have done our share for a while!! LOL!

Have you ever felt that even though you were at church....you didn't go to church? That is how I feel today. I was at Sunday School yesterday, but not in my class because DDs teacher was out and I had to fill in there. Then during church I sang in the choir, but wasn't feeling well so after singing I went to my Sunday School room and laid down. I didn't go Sunday night because DH was having people over for the SuperBowl. I am really depressed today because I missed the fellowship and learning of the word.

Thanks for posting the songs....they are helping me feel a little better.

Thanks JC2 and Michelle for the prayers. DH's meeting ended up with a compromise that everyone can live with...hopefully:) . His schedule has changed ...AGAIN! He'll be getting out every other Fri. at 11:00 am...which will be neat!

The meeting at DD's school was not as awful as expected. The teacher when confronted w/ the notes DD took last week and the 3 of us(the Administrator was there) admitted that yes, she had said those things and no, it wasn't appropriate. She and the administrator will be working on to avoid this in the future...so we'll see. DD has gotten 2 really excellent grades on tests in the last week, since we have started new studying techniques. Which reminds me...this is a link to a wonderful site ( I have read the books and it is REALLY helping us). JC-it might help you as well in your studies. If interested, CBD has the books.

Good morning everyone. I am feeling better today in regards to spiritually. I am having a bit of difficulty with our 4 yr old daughter. Besides pushing her limits...last night she lied to me about brushing her teeth. I explained to her how God does not want us to do that and told her that she needed to tell God she was sorry when she prayed. She refused....then told me God wasn't home. Of course after laughing inside I told her God is always home. She finally did speak with God this morning. With everything going on with her I was wondering, is there a resource book that I can get where it tells you verses in the Bible to reference with your children when they are being defiant? I have the Where to Find it in the Bible, but I need to bring this down to a 4 yr old level.

Amanda, I'm glad you are doing better. Not having any children I don't really have
any advice about what to do with your DD. I'm sure you have shared with her the scriptures
about children obeying their parents. Maybe you could come up with a little parable
for her. Talk to her about something that makes her sad and let her know that when she
lies or disobeys that's how it makes you and God feel and just like she needs something
to make her feel better when she is sad, you and God need her to say she is sorry so that
you can feel better. That's probably not the greatest advice but maybe it'll help you think
of something. I'll be praying for you and DD. btw, I love "Count Your Blessings" :D

Haven't been able to post for a while but I have been keeping up with you all in reading!

believe, I know just how you feel and I pray that God will give you extra sources of encouragement this week since you missed out on Sunday! When I am busy on a Sunday "serving" I usually will listen to a tape of our Pastor or listen to some radio preaching during the week. I also keep the music on as much as possible!!!!
Difiant children...I would have NO Knowledge about that...HA! This is something that I deal with too...of course (it comes with the parental territory)! There is a book called Shepherding the Heart of a Child that would be a good one to read. It deals a lot with "heart issues" being behind all behavior and offers suggestions on dealing with those issues over specific behaviors, for example. I think that the way you handled it was great. Kids need to know that they are displeasing God, not just us. Not to make them full of guilt, but so they'll know that God's truth comes with absolutes and boundaries, (concepts foreign in Modern thinking). Hemi-mom...Thanks for the book suggestion. I was actually debating going to the Christian store this weekend, they have some v-day lollipops that say "Jesus Love You and so do I", and I wasn't sure if I wanted to stop and get them. Now I have 2 reasons to go.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been posting here much this week. I've been really busy but I've so enjoyed reading all the wonderful scriptures and songs that have been posted. I think one of you asked about the STARs meeting. I had one and now I have to go to another one tomorrow night after church. Can I ask you guys to please keep me in your prayers? I am going through something right now that might be the most difficult thing I've ever faced. I'm having such a hard time getting through the day without bursting into tears every 5 minutes. I need to get past this and put it behind me but it's very hard to do. :(

I meant to tell you guys that I had my first time with the Prims last night. It was really a lot of fun and the girls all seemed to like me. Especially the one who is the biggest troublemaker! :eek: LOL I actually remember all 10 of their names too! Pretty good for me considering I only knew one of them before hand. They call me Miss Michelle and there are a few who are so sweet that it just melts my heart. :) They are a rowdy bunch though and catty! Whew, I never knew 6-8 year old girls could be like that! They are working on their Kindness badge so hopefully it will get instilled in their hearts good. I really like the teacher that I'm helping too. I learned so much from watching her interact with the girls last night. I'm not a big kid person so this will really help me learn how to communicate with them. There are a couple already that I just love. :D I'm helping chaperone a STARs outing this Saturday. Heaven help us, we're taking them to the Mall! LOL Thanks you guys for praying with me about making the decision to do this. I'm so glad that I did. :)

Michelle, I'm so glad you're able to be a leader to the PRIMS and do the Mall thing with the STARS this weekend. I'll be praying! Those 6-8 year olds are an interesting age. So many of Danny's classmates (girls) like Brittany Spears too! :crazy: Danny is always saying to me..."Mom I will never marry any of the girls in my class because they like Brittany Spears and I know you don't like her." WHAT A GOOOD BOY!! LOLOLOL At least I'm still his #1 girl for now! HAHA. Anyway...maybe you could introduce YOUR little girls to some good alternatives if they need that, that is.

 Sorry if I got carried away, but I really don't like B> Spears. And the fact that girls this young are looking to her as a model makes me well...:crazy: JMHO!

Hi guys, I'm sorry I haven't been posting on here much lately. I thank all of you so much for keeping the praises going and for your prayers. It means so much to me and I know they are really helping me get through this difficult time. It seems like whenever I think I'm doing better satan throws something in there to make it even harder but my faith is stronger than his schemes so he might as well stop it. Had a wonderful service this morning, the sermon was just what I needed to hear, I just felt the Lord confirming things to me that I was beginning to think were just my own ideas because there has been nothing but problems with them and as soon as my hope was renewed there came a slap in the face to try and make me doubt it once again. It must be something really good if satan would fight this hard to keep me from having it. Just have to keep pressing on and trusting the Lord to see it through and bring it forth.

The outing at the mall yesterday went well. The girls were all well behaved. Well, they did get a little ticked off when some little boy made a comment about them being girls from the orphanage! :rolleyes: Where do kids come up with these ideas? I had a lot of fun with them but Silvana and I do plan on going back to that mall without them! LOL

Jill, it's so funny that you would mention Brittney (sp?) Spears. Like 3 of the girls in my class prayed for her to get saved and start dressing properly. Isn't that awesome? Your little Danny has a good head on his shoulders. ;)

Just to clarify...I do "LOVE" Brittany Spears and wish to see her, (as Michelle's PRIMS stated), "saved and dressed properly"... AND (I'll go one step further)...preaching the WORD in song, (because stranger events have happened and "All things are possible with God")!

How much do I need God? He is truly all I have that is of any worth. He is All, and the only HOPE I can offer to my children. He is the only thing of significance in my daily living. Without Him, all of my efforts in my work, my marriage, my parenting, my family life, my friendships, my giving...are in vain. As I grow, I see more and more, my need for less of me and more of You, Lord Jesus.

If I'm sounding down-hearted, and kind of hopeless, I would have to say that "sweet surrender" is the most hope-filled, peaceful place there is.

I can't find the words to pray

How wide is Your love that You would stretch Your arms and go around the world
And why, for me, would a Savior's cry be heard?

How deep is Your grace
