I bought a Overland Donner bag and while I like the size and everything, I was a little disappointed in the strap. When I put two full water bottles in, plus all of my other stuff the weight of the bag made the strap pull closer to my neck and then everytime my leg hit the bag with each step it crept closer and closer until it was finally cutting into the side of my neck. That part of the bag I did not like and I was starting to worry about using it for my WDW bag. Well, I found the solution tonight at Walmart. Just happened to look over at the accessories hanging by the luggage and saw a these shoulder strap pads on clearance for only $2.50. Here is what it looks like.... (http://www.ergopad.com/) (to bad they only had black, the lime green would have went very well with my lime green Donner bag. :rotfl: ) It is kind of a rubber material and it has snaps that open it up to wrap around the bag. I filled up my bag with a bunch of heavy stuff and walked around my house and it seems to keep the strap in place pretty well. It kind of grips onto the material of your shirt, but it doesn't bunch up the shirt at all.

Thanks for posting about this. I used my Donner bag at the Parks last Jan. and it did get uncomfortable. Hopefully, this little gizmo will solve the problem because I do love everything else about the Donner.

I think this looks great! I noticed another thread mentioned the Timbuk2 style. But this looks even sleeker. Was it easy to put on?

I haven't been on the tips board much lately, and just happened to take a look today and saw your post. If I am looking at the right thing, the Timbuk2 style looks like it would be more for padding and not for slipping. The one I bought works to keep the strap from slidding up into your neck, but also helps distribute the weight of the bag more evenly on your shoulder.
I used the bag with the strap for a week last May and loved it. It held just the right amount, made it so much easier to carry enough water and was not to cumbersome. I can't wait to use it again in December. :woohoo:
