....that I have waaaayy to much scrap stuff!!

This is my space, not including my box of pics and the closet shelf where all my paper is.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i125/BernardandMissBianca/DSC_0002.jpg

This is the stuff that needs to go in said space:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i125/BernardandMissBianca/DSC_0003-2.jpg

So what do you think? Think I should stop swapping and actually use some of this stuff???

I hear you sister! :lmao: :lmao:

I was talking to DH again about the possibility of checking for a Circut tomorrow at ACM. (Yes, this story is related. ;)) He started talking about all the scrap crap I have that hasn't been used yet....like all the Sizzix dies I have. He told me that I couldn't get another machine until I'd used all the dies - and more than once. :lmao:

In the course of this conversation, he was explaining to me why he didn't think I should get a Cricut. "So you already know that the Cricut won't do everything that the 'new' one will do. How long will it be before you come home & tell me that you need a Grasshopper because the Cricut doesn't do everything you want? And then it won't be much longer before you'll need the Preying Mantis because it does everything! Just hold out & get the Whisper." (He meant Wishblade.) I'm sorry - but that has to be the funniest thing he's said in the 34 years I've known him!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I love your DH, the Grasshopper and the Praying Mantis. Tell him he'd better be careful, a Praying Mantis eats it's spouse after they are no use to them anymore. LOL

Are you going to sell your sizzix on ebay?

I'm not sure you can ever have too much stuff! Or at least that's what I told myself when I saw the WAY too much stuff I have in my scraproom! :rotfl2:

I'm a firm believer that "stuff" expands to fill the space you have for it...and then some...

Stop swapping :scared1: But it's so much FUN!!! It's been alot more fun than scrappin lately!

:rotfl2: piratesmate your DH is too funny! Join a few more swaps and use the sizzix on those...at least 6-8 cuts per die fills his requirements. As for the "whisper", he buying when you use all the dies? COOL!!!! :goodvibes

I know I have tons of stuff I never use but I just can't bear to part with it lol!

My stuff has stuff. My piles have piles. Someday, I'd love to have it all organized, but I just don't think that is in my nature. I plan while I sort through my piles for 10 minutes (like I did this morning - looking for a single swap item). It is my zen time. :)

AlexWyattMommy

I want a preying mantis too. :rotfl:
That is the funniest thing.

Maybe after I make my bed today I'll show you all my stuff. I've only been doing this since last summer and you could go shopping my room (if you could find anything) and I'd never notice it gone (until I need for a swap).

I have way to much stuff. My new craft room is overflowing which really if I organized it wouldn't look that bad but then I have some bookshelves still left in the spare room that have stuff on them too. I keep telling DH that whenI get time I'll sort through everything and we can get rid of the shelves but they really are holding good stuff. LOL He laughs since I seem to go in there and get what I need but then I just take it to add to the piles in the craft room instead of finding it a home.

I do have one good thing since its summer my little sister will be up and she's an excellent organizer so I can put her to work and she usually cleans me out of alot of my extra stuff. I really think to be 12 she has almost as much stuff as me.

I still haven't mastered the picture thing yet but maybe I'll actually give it a try this evening. What program did you guys say was the easiest to load to for showing on here?

BernardandMissBianca
05-22-2007, 09:04 AM
I got all the stuff on the floor sorted last night. Disney and non Disney.

*Note to self- stay away from Disney swaps for a while!

I now have 4 boxes of Disney stuff and 5 boxes of everything else. I would love to get the kids stuff scaled down but until school is out that just won't happen. I did however take out the bench that was on the other side of the nook which gave me more floor space. The kids were supposed to use it to stand on to hang their stuff on but it just got piled on top of the bench. I am not destined to have horizontal surfaces in my house, ever.

Oh and in that space pic, 4 photo boxes will fit in the open cubbies, the rest are full and I only have 3 of the clear plastic drawers empty. Everything else is full, full, full.

Of course I will totally screw myself when we turn that space into a bathroom. Then what am I going to do????? (We don't have a bathroom downstairs)

I use photobucket.
I plug my card into the card reader and my computer, open the finder window, which is where my card shows up. I opened a free acct with photobucket.com and upload my pics to there from the finder. The you have to scale each one down to size, it says resize, scroll your mouse to that and select for message board. That will get you to the right size. Click in "img code" and then paste it in your post here.

That made total sense didn't it??? :rotfl2:
BTW the finder part may be different cause I use a Mac.

Well that certainly sounds easy enough. If I get a chance I'll try it tonight. DH is working a concert so its just me the tv and swaps.

I'm being good so far this year. I've been stearing away from the Disney swaps and doing some of the other ones like the rolodex and colors. I have so many disney items that I still haven't used that I had to take a break but with my trip in August now booked I'm sure I'll be on the band wagon again soon enough. LOL

Yeah - I thought about the mantis' habits too. ;) Except that I was thinking the new toy would be eating my entire living room! That's where my work space is...and it's supposed to be isolated to just the end of the room (weird shape...9.5' x 20'). I'd take a photo to show you if I could just get it cleaned up a bit. :scared1: Every time I get things nicely organized & neat, I either join a swap or go to a crop thereby making a HUGE mess again!! :lmao: :lmao: One of these days I'll remember to take the photo BEFORE I start the swap stuff or packing for the crop. ;)

It was weird - DH was in such an...odd mood yesterday! He'd had a crown lengthening (oral surgery) in the morning and actually watched TV *gasp* for 3 hours! (I'd recorded the Poirot mysteries on Saturday.) He never watches TV and he never wants me to spend money in big chunks.

And sell my Sizzix?!?!?!? :scared1: Are you kidding?!?!? Actually I do use it a lot! I just tend to use the same dies over & over. I can't imagine not using it for things like tags & frames & stuff. :confused3

wow! (to the OP) everything in the space looks so organized!

I would never be able to post pictures of my scrap space. I keep everything in my Jr. Crop in Style tote and a 12x12 paper holder from Wal-Mart. When I scrap, I just haul it out and craft on my folding table in the "dining room" of my apartment! haha:lmao:

Is this a confessional? Do we have too much scrapping stuff? Is Mickey the cutest mouse ever? The only way I seem to curb my scrap buying is to stay out of the stores otherwise if it's on sale or clearance - you know you have to have it, right?

My big plan for this upcoming holiday weekend is to bite the bullet and start to weed out the stuff I've had for a long time and figure out how to get rid of it or find a place to donate it. With gas prices being what they are - no road trips this weekend and it's supposed to rain almost the whole weekend, so no pool visits either. Wish me luck....

We had a company come in and we designed it with the them. You can't see it in the picture but going around the right we have a computer station and a couple move hanging file drawers and some book shelves. I have my paper in hanging files and I had them custom build a 12x12 hanging drawer but I don't like how the hanging files work in it so I have 12x12 vertical holders sitting in it with the paper in those.

Mine is just like yours Buffy - I can pretty easily get it so it looks really nice and clean, but then I have a pile of stuff in the corner that didn't quite make it in. I have never, not even once, not had a pile or box of "to be sorted."

And I totally need to stop swapping - I've known that for awhile, but it's an addiction, as you all know, and I can't seem to stop. We're all codependent enablers here!
